He takes 20 on his Perception check (total 22) to scan the body, the oven, the stove, the rolling pin and basket, and the general area of the bakery for any other unusual signs that might shed light on how Trout died. He also takes 20 on his Heal check (total 27) to figure out more details on the wound Trout suffered, and uses that to deduce what he was doing before he died and whether there was any foul play involved.

OOC: Someone check the trash, please. I'd do it, but my character has tenuous motivation to investigate as is.

I take 10 on Perception, for a total of 13, then subtract 1 to compensate for the oddities of Finnora's vision when it comes to inanimate objects, for a total of 12.

The position of the body would lead you to believe he hit his head on the iron stove, but there is no blood mark that you can see on the stove. You do, however, believe that the wound was caused by blunt force trauma or some sort of pointed thing. If it's a weapon, it's unwieldy - perhaps a mace.

The trash dumpster is actually a trash chute! A disgusting scent rises from the darkness below and you see scraps of cabbage, potato peelings, and an apple core lying on the edge of a sliding metal door with a chain that hangs by the lid of the dumpster. This must be for when the dumpster fills up - the baker could pull the chain and open the door, dropping all the rubbish into the sewer or wherever garbage goes in this strange city.

Holy crap, your first roll is a natural 20! You see, caught between the hinges of the rubbish dumpster, several long, coarse hairs - seven inches or so long. You also notice that the wax has dripped on the rim of the rubbish bin and ends there. From down below, your comically large ears also pick up a scrabbling sound.

Since John is a Stormwind resident, I'm hoping the DC is lower for these rolls and we can get some answers.
