You can't change your name, and we aren't implementing that feature lol.

Communism is not a forum feature request, as far as I can tell, but if it is, that request is also denied.

Please keep posts reasonably on topic here, guys.

Oh god those dice. Is there a way to make the entire feature less intrusive? I would much rather just have something like:
Code:
I swing my sword and hit him for [d(ice)]2d6+5[/d(ice)] damage.

Turning into:
Code:
I swing my sword and hit him for 12 damage.

With a dotted underline and the dice input on hover-over. Or something. At least not those massive dice, they strike me as superflous.

Well, not quite that good. But you can go into your user control panel and turn off the dice. (Or change them to red dice if you have something against grey.)

Please make more D&D topics. Homebrew would be an important one, as would a Rules Q&A. Check out this page for more ideas: http://4enclave.roleplaylife.net/

Howdy, Sven.

When we designed the forums, we intentionally took a "light is better" approach, with the promise that if one topic overwhelms, we'll make a new forum for it and go through the troulbe of moving threads there. Using your example, we'd need to see a bunch of Homebrew threads, to the point where they dominated in General. I hope it happens, frankly. And soon. I would love to need to do the maintenance of making a new forum and moving threads to it.

I love that you guys have, over the course of a couple weeks, implemented more features more quickly and effectively than Wizards could over the course of five freaking years.

Well done. My hat is off to you guys. The die roller in particular rocks.

The dice roller hit a natural 20 in my books... or something ...cheesy like that.

Any chance of getting post links? One of the features I actually miss from the WotC was the ability to get a url for each post for easy linking.

Also, the DND game needs your attention, few edits to your sheet.

Well now, I just feel silly.

Also: already done.

Is there a way to implement multi-quote? I'm the biggest multi-quoter of all time and feel naked without it.

I asked for this, too, in private. It's sort of there - but hidden.

When you're replying to a thread, it puts all the posts that are in that thread at the bottom of the page. Each of those will have a "quote" button in the top right corner. Clicking that button will add a quote of that post to your reply window.

Ah, okay. While I'm here, could someone tell me what the limit on spoiler blocks is? I just made a post that used about 22 of them and it fell apart.

Spoilers are acting a bit weird still. That's on the to-do list to be sorted on the tech side. It's set to 50, but it's not working nicely (obviously).

It's set to 50 for both spoiler and spoiler= tags. Dunno why it's falling apart on you; can you link me to a post that's breaking? Thanks.

Not-quite-daily-anymore Feature Update:

Something that's been heavily requested by the PbP folks: tables!

{colsp=3}I'm a table!

some text |
| autocards
some guy wrote:
Even quotes work!
|
also
|
GobO_Welder rolled 1d10 and got a total of 4.

{colsp=2}
extra-wide cells
| nothing to see here

How to use (see, I'm including it the first time I post now: I'm learning!) :
  • One line of text becomes one row in the table
  • In a row, cells are separated with pipes ( | )
  • Empty rows are ignored, so you can space out rows for readability if you want
  • To make a cell multiple columns wide, start it with "{colsp=###}", where ### is the number of columns to span.
  • There are two kinds: [table] for a normal table, or [table={options}]. Supported options are:
    • center: center the table (surprise!)
    • header: the first row is a header and should look special

So far I've only found two things you can't put in a table: other tables, and dice rolls with images. So don't do that :p.

Enjoy!

As always, if you have any trouble let me know in the stickied bug report thread. I put this together in an hour or so, so it wouldn't surprise me if there are issues. Thanks!
