I was worried I didn't have enough TGT cards do to well in this brawl, since it seems like everyone's playing inspire decks, but it turns out it's a pretty legit strategy to just get a bunch of tokens off the powers and then Savage Roar for the win.

was gonna argue that without knowing the build-up it could've been fair but wait was that turn 3?

Druid is clearly the best deck in this Tavern Brawl. Spamming hero power is super strong, and Druid gets access to fast mana to pump out extra hero powers, as well as Savage Roar which synergizes with all of the token spam.

The really interesting thing about this mode is that Astral Communion is actually quite strong. It gives you 10 filled crystals, which lets you hero power five times immediately that turn.

Yes.

I felt like a heroic difficulty Adventure boss there. Or an average MtG player. :D

double innervate to turn 1 maiden?

anyway, this brawl would probably be better if you could still only use one power per turn.

Innervate into Astral Communion into Maiden lets you get away with a disgusting number of hero power activations.

Not really?

I was able to destroy a couple of people with Mill Rogue. Most of the hero powers can't do anything for your opponent if you don't have a minion on the board, and most players were running something close to a creatureless deck.

4/11 is not 'most', and you can cycle one of them.

I saw few people with creatureless decks.

Could have done without a rerun of the Webspinner challenge, quite possibly the worst one of them all.

They originally had something else planned this week, but it didn't work.

The original plan was actually pretty cool. You basically got to do Tracking every turn instead of your normal draw.

Everyone who tried to play it just got the spinning "finding opponent" wheel forever, though. I guess they pushed an emergency fix to replace the spinning wheel with some spinning webs. :V

You got to do 1/30th of an arena draft instead of the draw phase.

Doesn't that mean you don't die to fatigue?
Well, I guess they would have workarounds. That mode sounds kind of broken though. I think I'd play Mill Rogue.

Starving Buzzard: pretty good here. I played it on turn 5 on a gamble, they couldn't put enough down to kill it, then I filled my board with Webspinners. they never recovered.

It wasn't a constructed mode. You'd only get to pick your class, and the intent was that it would be literally like drafting arena but each turn in the middle of a match instead of at the beginning of an arena run.

It was obviously broken, since they had to pull it down.

The only format where you can cast double Bolster on Silverback Patriarch and win the game.

turn 3 Dreadscale, turn 3 Blessing of Kings, pretty solid. sacked into a Gahrzilla but really the amount of card advantage that giant dreadscale got me was game anyway. especially with that divine shield granting spell.

I feel like this brawl would be a lot more fun if Dreadscale didn't exist.
