I don't care if you do point buy, it's just that I don't typically encounter people who want to do it.

Elijin, it may be a good idea to check your skills against Urzamax's and see if you have any redundancies you could shift elsewhere, or ask him to shift. For example, you're both trained in Insight, when a party really only needs one character with good Insight (and Mown's priest is likely to have good Insight as well). You or Urzamax could take another skill like Acrobatics or Dungeoneering instead.

Actually I can just change my character. We don't need two Goblin rogues, and I have a bunch of other ideas. Hang on, let me whip up a Draneai Devoted Priest build. Also considering a Blood Elf Wizard or Warlock. Honestly, I'm happy to play just about anything.
By the way, Shuriken count as both light blades and light thrown weapons. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they would let you use just about any rogue ability on a +3 proficiency bonus and a d6 damage die, provided it was range-appropriate. DM ruling?
You can also run a ranger (hunter) if you really want to play up the long-range aspect.

This is true. Hunters are very good at range, with powers that allow you to reroll if you miss the first shot, fire two shots, and more.
A healer would be good, and Draenei have very interesting backstory possibilities! I'll be sad to see Fizik go.

Question about the draneai: Can they be born on Azeroth or Draenor, or did all the draneai now in existence come from Argus?
Also, more rolls.

Spoiler

Hmm, think I'll use my previous rolls instead. Better reflective of the balance a Cleric requires.

Draenei can have come from Draenor (you'd be very old) or from Azeroth. Argus, I think, would be far to ancient for any Draenei to feasibly survive, what with two genocides and a planeshift.

I rolled rather well, so I'll be enough of a jerk to keep my stats.

What timeline are we in? Monk is an option, so I assume post MoP/WoD somewhere. Probably before Burning Legion.
Any assumptions about what the story is about? I'm not against collectively deciding, but if there are any plans, then I'd like to know in case I want to take it into consideration.

Well, although Velen is no doubt more the exception than the rule, he has survived from Argus on. Given that he is approximately 25000 years old, according to the wiki, the Draenei can indeed feasibly be ridiculously long-lived. I think mine will have been a child back in the days of Draenor, born just before the genocides began.

Yeah we're before Burning Crusade. You'll be starting in Stormwind, and I can guarantee that at least SOME events from the expansions will be featured in the campaign.
Sounds good, a lot of opportunity for interesting roleplay there. Out of interest, does he have a loathing for Orcs?

Also hard to justify a character from Argus still being level 1.
I don't think you need to be long lived to come from Draenor. There are still some that inhabit Outland. You could have time traveled as well, but I guess that technically makes you really old.

I'm going to assume Burning Crusade means Legion.

I think I might end up taking various Lore skills instead, since my intelligence is pretty good, I don't think we have any other scholar-type guys, and it lets me leverage my game knowledge.

Burning Crusade is the name of the expansion that added Outland. This is before that and the Scourge - thus the lack of Undead.

@Mown: I'll grab Insight, Heal, and Diplomacy, then, if you have the lore skills covered. 'Tis fortunate, my intelligence is no better than average.

Is that also why I can play a Monk, which is a martial art and philosophy introduced by the Pandaren? The Forsaken have existed since the start of vanilla, and they didn't change in nature until Cataclysm, after Sylvanas got the assistance of the Val'kyr.
Burning Crusade is also significantly before my character concept (and ambiguously before the arrival of The Exodar), although I can theoretically make it work. I'm just a lot less interesting in C'Thun than I am with Y'Shaarj, and a gnome priest becomes much more of a snowflake.

Yeah, the Draenai were introduced during Burning Crusade, right? Makes playing a Draenai character kind of problematic, if the Exodar has not yet arrived. It's easy enough to claim that it did so prior to BC, or during the very early events of it, I suppose, so that should be all right. After all, it's not likely that the Draenai hopped up from the crash-landed ship and introduced themselves to the Alliance first thing.

Yeah, I didn't find any sources on when the Exodar arrived in relation to the opening of the Dark Portal, just that it's at some point after the Scourge Invasion (1.11).

Okay, and BC was 2.0, so that should be fine for the Draneai.

Well I'll have to sort out the Undead thing, but I think you're both right, the idea that Draenei arrived before Burning Crusade. Also I'm referring to the outbreak of the Scourge in Azeroth just prior to the Third War. So this is before the Third War, Burning Crusade, and the Scourge outbreak in the north of Azeroth, around Gilneas and the posthumously called Plague Lands.

Before The Third War? So before Warcraft 3?
Okay, The Forsaken indeed doesn't exist at that point, as they were made by Sylvanas. Blood Elves don't either, fwiw, and I can't recall any historical traces of Draenei on Azeroth at that time.

Indeed, I've just been reading on the wiki (the organization of these timelines is deplorable and I'm glad I have someone who knows this stuff) and I now see what you mean. So the Scourge came, some became the Foresaken due to the Lich King losing control over them, the Blood Elf prince went to Outland and they are now allied with the Foresaken, and are becoming friendly with the Orcs. This would be before Burning Crusade, but after the Third War, yes?
