@Cato - Most of those Hack'n'Slash games start out that way, but personally, I found that I got some additional skills pretty fast. It hasn't been just spamming a single ability, but I can see how it seems that way at first.

It gets a lot more straightforward once you've had some practice with it.

The main fun in PoE to me comes from a mix of race events, finding cool gear, improving my one good spell till it does crazy things, and dealing with a billion skeletons at once jesus **** there's so many of them and they're not dying cause there is a rare necro in the middle fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Wow this thread is dead! Does nobody play this game anymore? It just keeps getting better and better. I've been playing since open beta, I've played a bit in nearly every league. The current One Month leagues are insane.

I'm currently playing a Witch in the One Month SC league. I am using Reave for the first time and I'm also taking Chaos Inoculation for the first time. Just hit 58 and switch over to full energy shield. Seems pretty crazy to have 5000k dps and 5000k energy shield in Act IV cruel with really crappy items, I'm loving it. Before I switched I was dying a lot to Beyond mobs though because I tried to avoid taking any pure life nodes. I only took the three health nodes in the Shadow tree because of how insane they are.

Here is my current tree. From here I plan on reaching out for the easy jewel nodes, crit, and shield nodes. I should probably get Charisma at some point so I can run more auras.

I was using a duelist with the gloves that boost your bare handed attacks and then I stopped caring.
