Would anybody be interested in a 4th edition D&D campaign set in the World of Warcraft - mainly the land of Azeroth? It would include...

~Custom races, including Tauren, Trolls, Night Elves, Draenei, and the other peoples of Azeroth and Draenor you know and love!
~Dozens of homebrew monsters, from the gurgling Murloc to the raging Trogg to the iconic raid bosses who just wouldn't drop that purple loot!
~A beautiful, colorful world brimming with lore and locations (courtesy of the amazing minds of Blizzard*). It's not a reskinned Middle Earth, either. Azeroth is very original in both its lore and its people, and would likely provide a very unique experience from the usual high fantasy campaign settings.
~A campaign that will take your characters from lowly level one peons to legends!
~Other stuff I can't be bothered to type up.

Ever wanted to explore the ruins of the titans without having to mash 1 and 3 and worry about aggro (well, worry less about aggro)? Did you ever feel that even if you roleplayed in the game, it wouldn't be the same? Now you can, with the limitless possibilities of pen and paper (well... technically it's still on a computer, but it's ALMOST pen and paper).

People who've never played World of Warcraft wouldn't be lost, either - you don't need to play WoW to enjoy a great campaign setting!

(If we did play I would change this thread or post a new one outlining the guidelines in typical format.)

What do you say? I'd love to hear feedback!

*You still took my money though. $15.00 a month is highway robbery!

I've never played WoW, but I'm vaguely familiar with the lore. Sounds like a lot of fun, I'd love to give it a go.

Maybe. I am all in favor of a new setting, but 4th edition is not exactly fun at lower levels.

Perhaps, but if you take a look at the Talcar campaign (a campaign I find extremely entertaining), which is level two at the moment, I think you might reconsider. I think that any edition can be fun at any level, it all depends on the DM, the players... and the dice.

I like Azeroth, but I'd have to learn 4E, which I'd rather not. It's not something I see as PbP-suited (or Mown-suited), and a class system that isn't WoW's classes would probably be really jarring to me.

So are we thinking that it might be better in a 3.5 setting?

I know that system at least, but you're asking a guy here that only plays D&D variations from a lack of alternatives.

Fair enough. The general consensus seems to be that we shouldn't play 4e? All those in favor of 4e state so, all those in favor of 3.5 state so.

3.5. It's a bit easier to adapt to different class systems, in my experience, and I have the books available.

Alright, the only person who didn't say they'd prefer non-4e has spoken. It shall be 3.5! To be honest, I like 3.5 more as well, but I haven't seen many 3.5 players on. Are you all in?

I don't know third edition very well. I jumped from 2nd to 4th and 5th.

I would be ok with 4th, specially at higher levels, or better yet, using 13th age system (essentially a modified 4th edition).

Sorry, guys. On further inspection, I've decided that it's going to have to be 4e. It will be quite difficult for me to adapt the homebrew stuff to 3.5 from 4e. I hope you understand, and I hope you will still consider playing with us, even though you prefer 3.5.

Hey, Eli. I'm new to this too, but I'm going to try my hand at it.

Let's do this together.

I'd join, but I can't promise that I can be active.
