It's been some time since we did one of these, so let's see if we can get some good arguments going. Before we start, this was a phantom event, so monetary value of cards did not matter.

Turn 3, I rather play Skyspawner than Strangler most of the time. I'm not a fan of taking Processors before enablers in general.

There are some good cards in this pack. Skyspawner is the safe pick. The crazy pick is Retreat. Roil spout is strong but 2 color.

But yeah, strangler is the best card. If it's your only processor it's still fine with random exiling removal.

Now I've played a bit with the Strangler, I still think it's the pick over the Skyspawner, but it's not a bomb by any means. Picking enablers over processors makes no sense to me, since the enablers are usually not worth it unless you have the processors, except for the removal the exiles as part of the effect. And sending over a rare that fits into one of the archetypes you're first-picking a common for makes for a bad pack two. At least picking the rare makes most people disregard a pack for the purpose of signaling.

Or it might be that I'm rereading the Dark Tower series ATM :)

And here is pick two:

This pack is pretty miserable. I agree with Clutch, although Void Attendant is interesting... but GB ingest/process might be tricky to pull off. I guess if you stay green you can get fixing.

I think I will just pick nightwatch here. 4/5 for 5 is ok, giving it flying a couple times is great.

I think here is Clutch over Baloth, but yeah, this pack is bad.

I don't want to stay black bad enough to pick Nightwatch 2nd. The card is fine, but if you want one you can probably get one in the second half of the pack.

Is clutch so much better though? I feel like BW lifegain is a stupidly good deck. Haven't drafted this format yet admittedly.

Clutch. If we're going into an archetype, at least let it be a good one. This isn't a format where a 4/5 is an unbeatable body.

Lifegain is a fine deck but it's one of the more difficult ones to assemble. It's not assembled by 2nd picking 5 drops.

Clutch it is. On the subject of Nightwatch, see my deck in the stories section (not yet there ATM, but should be soon).

Nullifier, even though I'm not so thrilled about it. But yeah, lot's of White in this pack.

I'm gonna say Ulamog's Nullifier, but I'm worried about how wide open white is. It might be a good move to grab it force it for some chances at really good stuff.

A random pick 3 smite is not a real signal. I think this card, and white in general, is a little underdrafted. I do think it's the vacuum-best card in the pack. But I like having a clear plan early in this format, so let's Nullify it.

Nullifier. But if I have this choice in the future, it will probably be Smite. That just may be the best common in the set.

I prefer removal when it's an option.

Is outnumber enough better than splinters to speculate on it? I think that it is. I don't like this pack for UB at all, possibly it's just card distribution, but if the next pack is weak in it I am jumping.
