it just seems like drawing two Esperzoa is a total disaster

Usually it is but it's for your opponent who's getting clocked in the air. Fliers are powerful in this meta.

Plus it's not like it's unkillable. Sometimes the second just replaces the first.

Preferred Pronoun Set: I'm male, lol!
Esperzoa is fine with a supporting artifact shell especially with haste, but if your only artifacts are 4 vials then it can really only support 1.

Totally agree, you need the full artifact shell to justify them, no doubt about that. It's a real shame though that our artificers aren't artifacts, that would make everything completely different. Oh well.

From Gatherer http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/ ... eid=398661:

Rulings -
6/22/2015 The ability defining Zendikar Incarnate’s power works in all zones, not just the battlefield. Zendikar Incarnate’s power changes as the number of lands you control does.

There is one more thing I didn't realize about Anchor.
If you have Tutelage in play, and can somehow draw a card after you Anchor opponent's creature (for example play a Vial or a Visionary, or activate Tutelage), the creature will be milled.
I'm not trying to say that Anchor is better than Disperse. Just pointing out one more cool thing you can do with this janky deck :)

That's true. synergy vs power. Anchor has lots of neat sinergy with this deck, but disperse is a true power card for any control deck to most players. I think it depends in the end on your partner. If I knew my partner was a control player with a decent esper/jeskai/dimir build I would probably choose anchor so that I can be more the 'combo' deck.

Just trying out this fancy deck planner.
This is version of my deck submitted for NGA Meta-Deck Tournament.
DISCLAIMER: The deck was originally meant for 2HG and is somewhat janky and slow.
Also, I'm still struggling with deck name. Maybe "Monster Mill"?

Win-Losses with this deck so far: 7-5
1. L - W Aggro
2. L - Sultai Mill
3. W - RG Control
4. W - RW Aggro
5. W - RG Control
5. W - BG Control
7. W - UB Control
8. L - UG Tempo
9. L - BG Leap Control
10. W - Mono B
11. L - BW Enchant
12. W - RG Control

The core of this deck is to use the 4 mass sweepers, Displacement Wave Chandra's Ignition, to sweep the board on turn 5 if lucky. I'm experimenting with maybe adding some Nissa's Pilgrimage in there.

This deck performed somewhat okay. It feels pretty good against RG Gruul Monsters with Disperse, Frost Lynx, and Bounding Krasis to lock down big fatties. It isn't as vulnerable to land destruction because it's running a ton of lands with 4 Gatecreeper Vine and 3 Telling Time to never get mana screwed.

Been thinking

Applegate's list above got me thinking.. about a Temur value deck, because with dual-lands, Evolving Wilds, and Telling Time we can actually cast this stuff. The plan is just to keep slamming threats.. making them deal with it. I feel the only card that can truly deal with it is Tragic Arrogance.

Go Big or Go Home

4x Gatecreeper Vine
2x Evolutionary Leap
3x Telling Time
1x Elvish Visionary

3x Thopter Engineer
1x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
1x Reclaimation Sage
3x Bounding Krasis
2x Exquisite Firecraft

3x Whirler Rogue
2X Pia and Kiran Nalaar
3x Zendikar Incarnate

2x Outland Colossus
2x Chandra's Ignition

1x Woodland Bellower

2x Gaea's Revenge

2x Island
3x Mountain
4x Forest
2x Rootbound Crag
2x Hinterland Harbor
2x Sulfur Falls
3x Gruul Guildgate
3x Simic Guildgate
4x Evolving Wilds

So far the only underperformers have been Alhammerret and Zendikar Incarnate. I'm open to suggestions on those slots. Whirler Rogue with the Gruul creatures has been sick. Kird Chieftan isn't in here bc I can't afford the 5 mana Wildsize, bc I'm advancing my board with quality at that point. Evolutionary Leap with Thopters is just crazy.. it may even be better than Spy Network since you're always drawing action instead of a random card.. and blanking removal.

Edit: Alhammerret is getting cut.. he's just been sucking. Slotting a single Elvish Visionary.

You can do better than Visionary, for a singleton I would look at Ravaging Blaze. I like Whirler Rogue with the big dudes, and Bounding Krasis is my favorite card in the set.

I don't think you need Telling Time, I'd rather just have the Visionaries for Evo Leap. And the four spot is crowded, I think Incarnate is the worst of the lot. Add some more two drops, Myr comes to mind but I'm sure there's a more inspired choice you could make.

Yeah.. the visionary was good.. it always is. Telling Time is just there bc its a 3 color deck, and to find the Evoleap.. it has been good. I did a 10 games in a row with this (and posted it) and Incarnate didn't do much. I keep feeling that Myr could be good here as well. The cards that performed the best were Whirler Rogue, Pia and Kiran, Telling Time, Gatecreeper Vine, Gaea's Revenge, Woodland Bellower, Bounding Krasis and Evoleap. I don't think I ever played Nissa.. but I can't cut her can I? I had surprisingly little flood issues for a 25 land deck.

Ignition didn't do much.. those could be Ravaging Blaze.. but I have no ramp to make it huge and very few instants/sorceries. I think I want another Reclaimation Sage.. unfortunately. It's always had a target.. and I find myself wanting it more and more.

What do you think about:

-2 Ignition
-1 Incarnate

+1 Sage
+2 Visionary

What I've learned from Izzet Prowess is that the trinity of Thopter Engineer, Whirler Rogue, and Pia and Kiran Nalaar is just powerful. It requires a sweeper from your opponent to deal with it effectively and flying is absolutely huge in the current meta. Those thopter tokens are golden. I imagine they're just super-stupid with Evo Leap.

Any Evo Leap deck should be playing 4x Gatecreeper Vine, 4x Elvish Visionary, and 4x Perilous Myr so that's 14 cards. Then you have the Engineers, Rogues, and Parents, so we're up to 22. Add Krasis and we have 25. Now you have the best engine in the game backed by the best value creatures. I think you could play 35 lands and still win a ton with it, so whatever you want to do with those last 11 slots is really up to you. I would go with burn and some fat, personally (4x Fiery Impulse, 2x Exquisite Firecraft, 1x Ravaging Blaze and four fatties, maybe 2x Outland Colossus and 2x Gaea's Revenge).

On the Spike side, though, this could be the best deck in the current metagame if you refine it well enough. The only potential problem is the mana but with Gatecreepers fixing and checklands coming in untapped, I think it should be fine. We don't have to play 12 taplands this year in 3-color like we did last year.

That's high praise amigo. I'm all tingly now :)

There's only one way to find out.. time to dial up Covert GoBlue.

I'm sure he'll modify the list, as he should. It's not a finished product or anything.. I just got inspired by Applegate's list and threw it together today.. played a few games, was successful, then took it out on a 10-in-a-row run.

I'm not sold on ALWAYS including 4x Elvish Visionary, Gatecreeper and Myr in every Evolutionary Leap deck. Sure they're a great supporting cast, but it just takes up too much room in the deck IMO. I think we could run 8 of them instead of 12 and be fine. I'm not saying they're bad.. I just want to be leaping into more serious threats instead of an army of 1/1s and 0/2s. Gaea is in for sure.. it's been super excellent.. so has Firecraft. I'm always happy to see both. Bellower has been really good too with Krasis in the list.

If you have burn, then Myr is the odd man out in the Evo Leap two-drop package; I'd rather thin the deck. And I am well aware of the power of Bellower into Krasis from Simic Tempo, it's one of the best six-mana plays in the game.

If you're playing Bellower, which you should, then slot in a single Reclamation Sage.

YOU should play it. It's right up your janky alley ;)

Seriously.. the feedback would be appreciated. What would you do with the list? Anything jump out at you at first glance?

Also.. the connection stuff was pretty solid today. I got games in a minute or two average.. sometimes instantly.

I played today, got a bunch of rank 35+ people. Perhaps only the diehards are left playing?

Also, if you cut back on two-drops then I would play Twin Bolt over Fiery Impulse.
