I just had a game in Magic Duels where Kothophed died at the same time as two creatures the opponent owned due to combat damage, but there were no triggers. Is this correct?

I ask because I thought that Kothophed would still trigger despite dying at the same time as those other creatures.

I'm pretty sure that's a Duels bug. The ability should have triggered.

Ok, that's what I thought. Whew...I'm usually the one everybody turns to for rules desputes at the local FNM, and several weeks ago (probably a couple months now, actually) someone had a similar situation. I ruled that Kothophed would still trigger for each creature that died at the same time as it did. Had me worried that I'd told people wrong.

Yeah, your ruling was definitely right. Duels is decent on the rules front, but there's definitely still a few bugs left.

And so people say to me, "How do I know if a word is real?" You know, anyone who's read a children's book knows that love makes things real. If you love a word, use it! That makes it real. Being in the dictionary is an artificial distinction; it doesn't make the word any more real than any other word. If you love a word, it becomes real.

I think "a few" is being a little too friendly. :P "several" sounds about right.

I made a joke presenting at a demo/workshop that "Our software is totally bug free". No one laughed though.
