I agree. Fodder is only really good with Djinn on the board or as a Prowess trigger. It's not bad here.. just kinda mediocre.

This is where bassoon says something about dad humour and Hakeem and I are momentarily reminded that we are very lucky fathers...and all is happy and well.

I would have if I didn't just make a dad joke D:

my sister was all like "Yumi, I'm hungry" and I was all like "Hello Hungry, I'm Yumi"

Never tell a hungry person that you're yummy.

I'm not going to try to convince anyone that Dragon Fodder is awesome because it isn't, but I want to get on the board on T2 and if I cut the Fodders then I only have six two-drops. Plus it's a "creature" spell that triggers prowess. I kinda have to keep it.

Hmmm, would you accept a hand with dragon fodder as your only 2 drop?

If I have a Jhessian Thief or a Thopter Engineer to follow up on T3, then absolutely. I would also keep it if I had four land and a playable four-drop. It's a fine card, it trades one-for-one with Perilous Myr.

Then you're probably right to keep it. I keep forgetting that other than that you only have 6 two drops. This deck could use another 2 drop instead (possibly), but I take back what I said, and I'm on board. Sorry bout that.

What does everybody think about Anchor to the Æther in prowess decks?
Personally I run them over the Disperse's, you're generally going to be casting your stuff on your turn anyway to get the buff, and denying a draw step is great because you usually get pretty far ahead on board, leaving them looking for answers.

I like both. For me, one versus the other depends on a few things. 1) how each card slots into the mana curve. 2) do I have another means to deal with non-creature permanents? 3) is the deck light on card advantage cards? 4) what other effects are currently in the deck? 5) would I ever want to protect my own creatures or bounce them?

Usually this will give the edge to disperse. IMO.

I've bounced Rogues and Pia/Kiran in response to Languish to rebuild. Instant-speed is great. Hitting non-creature permanents is huge upside. I'm not saying Anchor doesn't have a spot but I think you only consider it after all four Disperse are in.

The other thing, IMO, is the deck already contains a sorcery speed card advantage card - Jhessian Thief - it probably can't handle another. I could image a non-prowess build, emerging eventually, that runs Anchor, because most of its threats are 2 CMC, but even then it's a bit of a stretch to me.

Damn disperse and it's flexibility...
Too many decent prowess effects is a nice problem to have in this deck though, Titan Strength, Twin bolt and the Anchor are all cards competing for spots, that's not even including less solid ones like Claustrophobia.

Here is the deck I started using last night w/ good success so far. I went from Rank 23-32 on a 15-3 record vs a variety of decks and ranks. Most kills were turn 5-6 with a few 4's and a few beyond turn 6. My three losses were; I had to leave mid game for RL reasons, I was stalled, and not sure I could recover, I forget what it was against. I lost vs a Languish I over extended against. I also lost vs the Turbo Fog mill deck. I was able to get to 2 life before they gained control. Next game was a rematch I won w/ 20ish cards left. I was impressed w/ that deck and the player.

It is hyper aggressive, very contrary to my normal control playstyle. My only concession to possible late game is Chandra, which I only played once, when I over extended. I even took out the Rogues passage as the mana is very tight. So far, there has not been a game where Rogues Passage would have made a difference. I am sure there will be times I wish I had it, but at this point, I do not think it is worth messing up early mana flow.

3 x Goblin Glory Chaser
3 x Titan's Strength

4x Welkin Tern
2 x abbot of keral keep
4 x mage-ring bully
4 x Infectious Bloodlust
3 x Call of the Full Moon
3 x telling time
4 x disperse
4 x twin bolt

3 x jhessian thief
2 x exquisite firecraft
1 x Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh

8 x island
10 x mountain
2 x Izzet Guildgate

i personally miss Infectious Bloodlust in darkstars deck... its superaggro and its more than 1 spell, as the unit dies, because you get another. and mage-ring-bully has no downside to it. haste is also useful
