Not needed, as an avid GR fan I auto included it at first, but in the end it turned out that it's usually just sitting in my hand. I do a lot of chip damage with despoiler and the shamans as people don't want to block them. By the time I can cast Gaea's Revenge I usually don't need it and have better plays.

I do play high value for their cost bombs though: Colossus is a 6/6 for 5, and priest is a 7/7 for 5 and the 5/5 is a flyer which is very hard to remove for thopters.

But Gaea's Revenge is viable too, you can exchange any of the bombs for it.

The decks core are the 3/1 creatures, Elemental Bond and the little pesky blockers that allow you to Evo Leap or to bring back Despoiler from the grave.

Might be a good call, Colossus just comes into play earlier and allows me to pressure the opponent. I will think about it though.

Looks good--I've seen a few people playing Elemental Bond lately and thought I'd try building a version. I'm thinking maybe yes to Languish but not sure about Gaea, have to see if the card drawing allows you to drop enough land to make it better than the faster Colossus.

Don't forget that GR is almost-hexproof and can't be countered.

Exactly my thoughts.

Magaiti: you don't need gaea if the game is already over or almost over :-) and the faster colossus makes it possible.

but it's only faster if it hits turn 5 every game, otherwise its the same speed a turn latter and slower on turn 7+

Colossus can hit the board on turn 4, but chances are it will hit the bin before turn 5 :)

That is also true ;-) that's why I'm giving GR another go.

I might do -1 Cruel Revival or Bone Splinters +1 Necro Summons, just to abuse the opponents graveyard if needed.

Ok, so after further testing: this deck sucks. The draw engine is slow and easy to disrupt. And the creatures aren't worth it. It's better to just play value creatures and read the bones.

Are you sure you don't jump to conclusions? According to your logic, Golgari Control should be even easier to disrupt, since in only runs 2 EvoLeap as draw engine. This deck runs 5. Am I missing something?

I think 2 Despoilers may be a bit too much in a slow deck, though.

The difference between Elemental Bond and Evolutionary Leap is that Elemental Bond doesn't do anything. Oh, and you have to run a ton of generally subpar creatures to maximize your do-nothing enchantment. Evo Leap doesn't care what dude it sacks.

Just play the raw power and consistency of Evo Leap.

That's a lot of big bodies, I wonder if roil over elemental bond? Or would that be way too um.. what's the word... situational?.. man would be nice to see how all three would work.. Guess Roil, and synergy with a different set of cards.. :-x I saw someone evoleaping roils the other day like he's some kind of drunk person. Hope to see how well this works though :) I'll give it a test drive.

Just went 1/1 Too early to tell but I can see where this deck feels hella weak without cards "showing up" ...and I had 2 bonds out with Myrs dropping on the board.. (super angry face)

Maybe add Gather the Pack? Put creatures in graveyard and/or dig for 3+ power guys. This might just make the deck even more janky, idk.

Exactly. You can always add Read the Bones if you really want the additional draw.

Still a fun deck to play IMO. Have you tried my decklist? I decided to go full control and also drop Vines for more sub-par 3-power creatures :)

Hi all,
Since the elemental bond golgari deck came up I thought I'd throw in my deck I ran last weekend, it worked well enough:
4 x Elvish Visionary
1 x Shadows of the Past
4 x Reave Soul
1 x Liliana, Heretical Healer
3 x Fleshbag Marauder
3 x Deadbridge Shaman
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
2 x Elemental Bond
1 x Erebos's Titan
2 x Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen
2 x Languish
2 x Gilt-Leaf Winnower
2 x Outland Colossus
3 x Conclave Naturalists
3 x Cruel Revival
2 x Gaea's Revenge

9 x Swamp
9 x Forest
2 x Woodland Cemetery
4 x Evolving Wilds

18 of the 24 creatures trigger off the bond if you get it so it can definitely get some decent draw going with the enchantment.
