Take a load off and say 'hello' to your fellow posters! Or say whatever you'd like since this thread has no real topic, other than a being a nice place to chill between games.

Currently, I'll be your GobO for the new Hearthstone forum, so please feel free to message me with any concerns.

The game's been out for long enough that 10,000 gold isn't actually all that wild an amount to have made.

i meant the estimate itself was wild rather than the amount of gold

the amount of gold isn't that high, but probably significant considering i only play occasionally

If you did your dailies every day for a year, you would make 14600 gold or 146 packs for free. Assuming they were all 40 G, which is about 10G below the average now.

Tips to doing the early parts of a soul level 1 run for Dark Souls:
- get the three "loose" fire keeper souls, a battle axe, the light crossbow, the elite knight set, the ring of favor and protection, red tearstone ring, rusted iron ring, and havel's ring ASAP
- use The Depths titanite farming spot to get the tattered set and elite knight set to +6, your battle axe to raw +5, the crossbow to +10, and enough souls to open up the forest farming spot
- use the forest farming spot to get your pyro to +15 and to buy all the pyro available from the first tutor

i probably made a lot of my gold during the time where you could reroll quests infinitely as long as you did it right before the reset

I never really abused that, but I know what you are talking about. Lots of people were rerolling for 60G and Total Domination as often as possible. To be honest, I don't really like any of the new 50G quests.

Capra Demon:
noun.
A demon in Dark Souls that, along with its pet dogs, acts as one of the biggest f u bosses early on in the game but becomes an easy enemy to defeat very late in the game. This demon is famous for being the hardest for new players to the franchise to beat early on in this game, due to the bumrush this early boss entails being able to do >75% of most player's health, leading to a lot of players dying less than 30 seconds into the fight.

^^ This enemy sucks.

I am the Hearthstone champion.

Actually, I'm only okay at this game. But one of my college friends is legitimately great at Hearthstone.

I'm really good but I make mistakes and don't play a lot.

I think you're forgetting to add in the 10 gold per 3 wins with a single class that would be strewn about those numbers as well.

I am the best Constructed person I know IRL, but Mown is better than me here on the forums gameplay-wise. But I never bother to try to get past rank 5 (or more usually 10) on purpose so that's partially my fault.

I am definitely not the best arena player I know, but I've never really made the attempt either. I know someone IRL who is 100% f2p but does infinite arena.

On average, you should get about 20K gold "free" minimum each year if you actually go out and do all your dailies. The actual math of it doesn't really matter that much to me, but that's enough to get most of the commons and rares from every set so far. The adventures are the real issue.

Havel.
Noun.
The guy in Dark Souls where everyone wants his armor and ring, but in order to get his ring you have to try and not let him slam you into the ground (usually failing a few times on the first series of attempts). Notable for his armor set in Dark Souls 2, "Havels" are the equivalent of super turtles in that game. Havel's Set is not the most defensive set period in either game, but it's one of if not the best set in that area for amount of time invested. Havel's Ring in Dark Souls let's you have +50% equip burden, which is why so many people try and fail to beat this guy really early in the game. This is somewhat necessary to have at some point for most challenge runs.

most of the people i talk to who play hearthstone seem to think they are capable of getting legend and apparently that is a massive grind so i wonder how easy it is to actually evaluate hearthstone strength.

At 50g a daily it takes what, around four months to fully buy both adventures? less if you're using the acheievement gold and factoring in the 10 gold per 3 wins you get.

On average, it takes dedicated players about 10 days to save up for a wing. So 50 days per an adventure, on average. However they announce them like 30 days ahead of time, so a lot of people start saving and buy them as they come out.

I'm a competent player. I reach good ranks on ladder when I try, and I'm infinite in arena. I'm not as good as my friend though.

My buddy played in the 2014 Blizzcon NA Qualifiers on stream, which is much more than anything I can claim about HS.

----------------------------

I bought both Adventures with gold. It took a while.

I'm only counting people I've actually seen play. Actually I don't think I've even seen Jack play so whatever. People who declare themselves the best at things without a hint of joking are arrogant and annoy me.

I average 1 - 2 Arena wins and my highest Rank ever was 15. I think we're kinda tied.
