C'mon there's a card called HERALD OF KOZILEK (not to mention a Channeler of same). Pretty sure he's coming back. I think they insisted he's not combing back for BFZ so Oath seems like a good guess.

So presumably Ulamog takes a hedron-beating in this set's stories, then texts Kozilek with a "where you at"?

I heard a pretty intriguing prediction that The Vivid lands would be reprinted in Battle for Zendikar to enable converge.

They said that vivids were a design mistake the first time, and Maro has already stated what land cycles would be in BFZ in his recent Making Magic column - the tango lands, the start of the enemy manlands cycle, and a Teetering Peaks cycle.

Ten of those lands may just be the Scry Temple cycle from Theros block. People seem to like those lands and they could be full-art flavored to Zendikar since the people there used to worship the Eldrazi as gods (they just didn't know that they were Eldrazi).

AzureShade - Are you talking about Zendikar Expeditions? I don't think they'd waste em on Theros temples, but I don't know what the 20 in OGW are gonna be so you could be right. Dr. D is talking about printing vivds in the actual set, not expeditions.

Yeah, I was talking about the Expeditions. MaRo has been very clear that the other 20 cards from the bonus set that will appear in Oath are all land cards. Right now the breakdown for the lands in the set revealed already are the 10 Shocks, the 10 Fetches, and 5 of the new "Tango/Buddy" lands. That covers the two most important and re-printable land cycles in Magic.

I think that the Temples will show up next set along with the other 5 new-duel lands and five other special lands of some kind.

Will OGW even have any duals? They don't need to print enemy tango lands because the ally tango lands are already balanced out by the enemy manlands.

I think OGW expeditions will have all ten dual manlands. The temples aren't important because they're not in standard any more - they're just as likely to reprint the shadowmoor or scars of Mirrodin duals as the temples. But it might be that OGW expeditions has an even older cycle of lands - there's no rule they have to be modern legal right? They can't do revised duals because the reserved list though.

Correct, any land that is not on the Reserve List can potentially end up in the OGW 20 Expedition list.

It has to be something you'd be as excited to pull as a foil mythic. They can't put any useless cards in expeditions (except Lavaclaw Reaches because it's part of a high profile cycle).

They could do the Urza's Saga lands (Tolarian Academy etc), but it would suck to get a Shivan Gorge. And/or possibly the future sight lands (Horizon Canopy etc).

I don't think there's any other cycle of 10 lands where you would be excited to open everyone one of them.

I wouldn't say no to any of the original duals :q

SHA/EVE filter lands are cool.
Also like the Innistrad ones with activated abilities, but there's not many of those that are worth it outside of EDH.

The Innistrad ones you're talking about are flavor specific, though. Maybe when they release Innistrad Expeditions :P

I'd expect that Wizards will do a 4/2 split if there are six planeswalker cards, as it looks right now. It's more in line with the mythic ratio than 3/3. And back to back planeswalkers are hardly that rare, are they? So Gideon, Kiora, Ob, and one of Jace or Nissa in Battle, then the other plus Chandra in Gatewatch.

Sounds reasonable.

So, with the Sire being the last mythic, there are only three walkers in Battle. Either there are three walkers in Gatewatch after all, or one of the four known Gatewatchers will not receive a card.

Before it's too late to prognosticate, I'm betting on this card:

Slower Lynx
Creature - Cat (C)
Landfall - Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, Slower Lynx get +1/+1 until end of turn.
Nothing quickens the predator's blood like the familiar scents of old hunting grounds last seen in 2009.
1/1

PV has just posted everything that is wrong with Battle for Zendikar and I don't think it's physically possible for me to agree more with what he said about Allies.
