So, theamazingsquid had a really fun idea some time back where you created a Planeswalker, built a deck of spells for them, and then battled it out in an arena in the style of The Hunger Games. In a sense, it was fairly freeform, but squid tried for some rules that left people rather unsure of what was going on and the like. Sure, the mechanics of the game were a little off and ambiguous, but the base idea was rather awesome.

Would anyone have an interest if this were to be resurrected?

Hopefully not. I was going to work on an actual game board in a Google Docs spreadsheet and fairly clear rules for it all. Though I'm sure there will have to be judgment calls all the way through.
