I know there was the berry glitch back in Original Ruby And Sapphire (get it... ORAS?)
But that was using berries to take away HP.

Yes it was fixed by removing the berries use in battle or something but if you increased a pokemons health temporarily you could still cause glitches since it would lower once the mega evolution ends. I mean it would be nice though, I still want mega dunsparce.

I'm gonna rename this Pokemon general thread as that's what it has and probably will turn out to be.

I want to take back a lot of mean things I said about Pokemon X/Y being easy.
I'm doing a Nuzlocke now, where, after Korrina's gym massacred all (I mean all of them, my back ups too) of my pokemon except for one. I have not been able to keep a full team. I just caught Yveltal, and he is my sixth pokemon.

I've had the same three pokemon for almsot ever, Sylveon (the survivor), Lapras (the I at least have two pokemon now), and Wartortle (the I'm gonna stick eviolite on this and never let it evolve so it gains tons of XP, and extra defense).

I had carnivine for the longest time, but a bisharp OHKO'd it. I brought my Sylveon in to Moonblast it, and it barely survived only to bring Sylveon down to 18 with an Iron Head. Then I was stuck with a difficult decision of does it have sucker punch? does it have pursuit? Was this a low roll, or can I heal? Thankfully, I was able to switch without incident, but my pokemon are like ten to fifteen levels higher than these other pokemon, they shouldn't be getting steamrolled like this.

I did have a Gyarados, but an NPC's Lapras had a thunder.

It has currently been both a fun and stressful run-through of a pokemon game, the most so in a long time.

Wait really? 10 Level advantage and you're getting killed? I'm cruising through X/Y without an incident what is it you're doing differently? I actually have a bench and options and things for choosing pokemon. It's the weirdest run I've ever had.

I should also point out I'm not using the XP share, so the XP isn't evenly distributed.
The thing is, I try doing to the game what the game did to me, and it's just not working. I had a pawniard. And I was so excited to use it. I went against a slurpuff. I was going to use ironhead, and instead got OHKO'd by fairy wind or something in the very first battle. So I tried to do the same thing with a sylveon, and the darn thing lived to talk about it.

I knew carnivine was going to go down eventually, I was just hoping he'd make it to the elite four first. A critical hit X-scissor from a bisharp. These pokemon have different movesets than I'm used to fighting against. They do a good job diversifying the NPC's. Like there was one bisharp that had sucker punch, power up punch, slash, and iron head. and then another one a few minutes later with X-scissor. It's not altogether my fault. As soon as I saw X-scissor, I knew carnivine was dead. The critical hit was just rubbing salt in the wound.

Plus having to recuperate with one pokemon hasn't been the easiest. I have three pokemon that are over-leveled, and everyone else is on par or just below. The probelm with the overleveled pokemon is that they are all specially-based Sylveon, Lapras, and Wartortle and steel and electric types give me great difficulty.

OH, and don't get me started on my Butterfree. I was PO'd when that thing fainted. That was just before Korrina's gym, and I brought it in against a Vespqiuen (in teh mirror cave). I used sleep powder, a few gusts. And the last move that would kill it, it woke up and used flipping Power Gem. I was so mad about that one.

The massacre at Korrina's gym happened against a Throh. It had Counter, Storm Throw, Feint Attack, and Poison Jab.
I brought out my Braxien, hit it with a flame charge. I saw that if I boosted my attack I could kill it so I howled. I used a potion, and attacked. It survived with a sliver of life left, and used counter. I switched in my Azumarill, he used a potion, and my aqua jet did nothing. He used poison jab and got a critical hit. I lowered it's attack twice and then switched in my linoone to try and flinch it to death. it didn't flinch and landed a strom throw which is always critical. I brought in my machoke and took it down.

But then I only had a Sylveon that was appropriately level AND lacking a fairy type move outside of baby-doll eyes. I literally sacrificed the rest just so I can get safe switches with sylveon to weaken them enough to be able to stall them out. It was horrible.

Okay so that answers a big old question right there. Fair enough man. That thing is basically cheating when playing normally - I can see why you killed it for a nuzlocke run.

That and you seem to have hit a mega run of bad luck. Not a good combination during a nuzlocke run eh? Well at least you've still got your starter (even if it is the second one).

lol yeah. With it on I'd have three vastly overleveled pokemon, and three slightly overleveled pokemon, with far less deaths.
And yes, I seem to be crippled by high rolls / critical hits more than usual. But it's making it fun for me. Sure I complain, but that's because it's so close. It's really fun to do.

As an aside: I'm upset how they re-incorporated the XP share. In Gen I, they had an item called the XP All, that does what the XP Share does.
But when they made the XP Share, it was originally a hold item for one pokemon. I think instead of changing what the XP Share does, they should've just brought back the XP All and given it the option to be on/off. That way you could have both... then again that's what the lucky egg does, but they could've done it with one less item is all.

I have to agree. I understand the concept of ease-of-use tools in games like pokemon (I will honestly say the DexNav is probably the best additional to pokemon in years) but the way they handled the EXP Share is hilariously bad. I'm just glad they at least gave us the option to turn it off.

I've been nuzlocking my way up the generations, and I'm currently in White version. Given the number of times I reset a game, I just name my pokemon after characters that share a vague similarity. When I'm not nuzlocking, I try to follow a theme, eg AtLA, Neon Genesis Evangelion angels, Homestuck characters, etc.

Favorite character...yeah, it's Cynthia. The only thing that keeps me going through pearl is knowing I fight her at the end.

I kinda like Silver as a rival. He's a jerk, but not on the level that Gary is. Then, when he finally learned to be nice, we team up and beat Lance "Another Dragonite, really?" and Clair "Petulant child". I felt so satisfied after that.

I like very little of the Gen 5 anything. I like Braviary, Volcarona, Eelektross, but that's pretty much it. I hate the team, I hate Hugh, I hated the scaling XP thing, there was no new eeveelution, a few gym puzzles were over-the-top...alkjrbgzjfnbkdfbz
