You guys and your chilly weather! Its been between 30-40 where I live the last week or so. Likely going to stay that way too, maybe even peak 40 from time to time.

Oh right, sorry. Celsius.

So that makes it like...84-104? in your backwards numbers.

Yeah, those are VERY warm numbers in C and pretty damn cold in F so, yeah, makes a big difference. I figured by your first sentence that it was C, but to any American that didn't pick up on that, it would seem you live in a frigid area.

I live on the western coast of Australia. Our version of cold is probably your version of a pleasant day :P

LOL, I was actually typing up a post that guessed you were from Australia or Central America. The 'ninja post notifier' caught me though, since you posted before I could click Submit. I used to play WoW with a bunch of Aussies and Kiwis. Best/funnest (large) group I've ever gamed with.

F or C it doesn't matter when the temp drops (well I guess it does matter) 40f in 12 hours. and then will go up 50f in the next four days.
Aussies are getting ready to fry soon though.
While we get ready to freeze.

I agree. I hate the cold. It's part of the reason I moved from the midwest to the desert coast.

As much as I would like to do that, I can't imagine the holidays without snow and cold.
I could move to some place warmer but then I would have to buy plane tickets for four to go back to the family, snow and cold.

Edit: As the temp is falling I made a huge stockpot of homemade chili this evening. I'll have a bit tonight but anyone worth their salt knows it's always better the next day after every spice settles in.

I make 2 trips back to Oklahoma a year. As a construction inspector you'd make a **** ton of money here in LA and could afford it. Everything here is more expensive, but it's offest because something that you might get payed $20/hr out there would make you around $40/hr here. I literally get payed $30/hr to sit on my ass and watch sports.

On the flipside, the idea of a white christmas is entirely fantasy to me. I cant think of a single christmas where the temp was lower than 25C/77f.

In fact, I've never even seen snow.

That's partially because it's Summer in your half of the world during Christmas.

Do you watch Top Gear btw?

Jeremy, James and Richard????

Check out "James May's Toy Stories" online.
He takes older toys such as legos, and small scale trains and such and has great fun.
They build a full size house out of Legos in one episode.
Toilet and all.
Edit: In another they follow the old Sillverstone track with HO railroad and run a lap.
Thank God for having kids or I might never have found it.
There's only about 6 episodes, but it's cool.

The US version is ABYSMAL! Actually I was interested in TG Aussie. I've seen the guys who host in as they are occasional guests on Top Gear UK. They seem to be genuine car enthusiasts but I've never seen any of the shows hosted by them as they don't show them here (presumably since we have TG US).

James May has some good ideas for shows, but that guy is a little boring to be hosting his own show.

Must admit I loved watching Kimi, Lewis, Jenson and Sir Moss run the "reasonally priced car".

Find and check out Toy Stories and then report back.
Yah, James is layed back but his idea was solid and quite charming.

The Aus version is possibly better from an outside perspective. I've also heard they grew into the roles too, but I havent watched it since the first few episodes put me off. It was just too much of the semi-bogan ford vs holden banter and such. Those sort of car enthusiasts are a dime a dozen here, and it was grating to see it glorified.

If you are a little more of an enthusiast as I am (I love the BBC broadcasts of Formula One) I can turn you on to a proxy that I pay for during the season ($33 US for three months of service) that allows you to access the BBC iPlayer.
Other than that, you can catch a torrent or wait months before Netflix puts it up.
