Some people midnight snack.

I midnight generate. :D

You make wise decisions, my Orcish friend.

Quote:
After having a strange dream, Lumina Revelaris decides to search for a mysterious treasure on Shandrovol. For the sake of safety, Lumina seeks to travel with Blink. After a long and eventful adventure, they finally reach a great but abandoned city. After hours of searching, they find their treasure! Triumphantly, Lumina raises a long-forgotten book of spells over her head!

I'm not trying to criticize, Lumina, but I'm not sure Blink is who I'd pick as a travelling companion, if safety was my top priority...

She's probably alright, so long as Lumina isn't monoptic...

In the Prancing Troll tavern on the continent of Aerona, during a thunderstorm, Nasperge gives an Aubedore reading to Raleris, the Lorekeeper in the "Crossroads pattern."

For the corners, he draws the Thief, the Ghost (inverted), the Endless Maze (inverted), and the Bird.

For the spokes, he draws the Castle (inverted), the Teacher, the Unicorn (inverted), and the Healer (inverted).

At the Crossroads, he lays the Lovers (inverted) vertically as the destination, under the fate card of the Huntress (inverted), which is horizontal.

Raleris, the Lorekeeper is very confused about its meaning.

Well, there are some parts of it that seem to make a lot of sense?

Sounds like "To Call the World to Heel," only with some strange, alternate ending.

Quote:
Gruff is forced to do battle with Denner Fabellian.

It's an epic contest of stick versus sick.

I can dig it.

Quote:
Mel Odrum attempts to tie Aloise Hartley to the railroad tracks. It does NOT end well for him...

Aloise may be the only 'walker who doesn't make sense in this prompt. She would try to help Mel mend his ways, methinks.

Well, if Beryl finds out he tried it, I suspect it will, in fact, end very badly for Mel Odrum.

Quote:
Clade arrives unexpectedly on a distant plane. There, he tears down civilization, leaving only a Soltari alive.

A solitary Soltari, perhaps?

I see what you did there, and I approve.

Quote:
A gilded lotus has resurfaced from the depths of history, and now Sri Hara planeswalks to Zhiran's Academy in search of it. Can he get to it before Zhiran?

Given the location, I feel like the answer is... no.

[Zoidberg]The box...says no.[/Zoidberg]

Quote:
Kimberley Talon finds herself surrounded by a very strange army comprised of Viashino Mystics, Camarids, Lammasu Archers, and even Walls.

The walls made me laugh harder than I should have.

Well, you got a heart so big, it could crush this town...

Quote:
A thousand years ago, the Dual-Walkers, Syl and Chardis, host the Amphiseum Games, and watch a planeswalker battle a flatulent Fungus.

I'm hoping that was the undercard fight.

This strikes me as some kind of a joke on the planeswalker. Some big, tough warrior, thinking to make a name for himself in the Games, and then, his opponent is revealed...as the Great Farting Fungus of Fingle's Folly!

Quote:
Raleris, the Lorekeeper attempts to explain why he cheated to Morgan of Voor, but it goes poorly.

"If you didn't want me to peek at your cards, you shouldn't hold them out like that!"

Quote:
The Shifter throws a party on Faskeria. He invites Cara Holis, Raleris, the Lorekeeper, Larasa Farleth and Rimarra, and there Raleris and Larasa hook up!

This puts a whole different spin on that last prompt. :takei:

:D

Quote:
Things have gone poorly, and it seems to be Nasperge's darkest hour. But then, suddenly and out of nowhere, Raiker Venn arrives! That **** comforts Nasperge, and things start to seem better for him. Together, Nasperge and Raiker head off to explore Luvion, home of Celestine Reef.

Oh, no!

I'll have to give some thought to a Nasperge/Raiker cross-over. But where could we possible set it? What plane could those two possibly have in common?

:plot:

Quote:
Aloise Hartley is deceived by The Duchess on Aliavelli...in bed.

Yup... the Generator still hates Beryl.

Once again, I think optimism will win the day! I trust that the Generator will do the right thing. I'll generate a prompt, and use the first one I find that mentions Beryl, and I bet it'll be good. Here we go:

Quote:
Yeong Eode planeswalks to Aliavelli. There, she receives the artifact known as The Staff of Endless Memory from Jade, Aamir, and Beryl, the Heart-Scarred.

Umm, the second one I find. That's what I said, you just misread it...

Quote:
Beryl has a meeting with a boistrous ghost on Ikass, after a duel between Zhiran and Auric Avarius left them stranded there.

This one's pretty neutral...I guess...Okay, one more.

Quote:
Ygraine of Segovia trades information with Beryl, the Heart-Scarred.

Ah-Ha! See? Nothing negative here, perfectly innocent. It would probably be pretty fun, too!

Yay, Generator! I am vindicated!

Also nightmare fuel.

<Tales of Interest Voice> You watched it! You can't un-watch it! </Tales of Interest Voice>

Sounds like "To Call the World to Heel," only with some strange, alternate ending.

I know, right? The corners are like dead-bang on. And then it starts to get weird...

Well, if Beryl finds out he tried it, I suspect it will, in fact, end very badly for Mel Odrum.

Oh, man, this gave me a chilling glimpse of a sort of Dark Beryl suppose prose outcome, here...

I am not ashamed to admit that this made me laugh. :D

I used "Fingle's" as an MST nod. I figured you'd appreciate that...

How are you all extrapolating Aubedore meanings? Is there a dossier on them that I missed?

Every time I go through this thread after a while I come across one or two prompts that get my thinkpan churning. In particularly I'd love to read the Donagut vs Asher and Lourima story. Now that'd be an interesting combination of characters.

There's another prompt that sparked my interest, too, but well... no spoilers ;)

No dossier, no. Nasperge explains a little of how the "Crossroads" pattern works in "The Magician's Crossroads" and gives us some hints at some card meanings, but mostly it's symbolic association. That being said, the cards do (by what I can only assume is a strange coincidence :paranoid: ) coincide with many of our 'walkers. In this case, the "Thief" and the inverted "Ghost," seem to represent Renn Winnmoore, the "Endless Maze" probably the Infinite Library, and the Bird, Kirsh. The inverted Castle is perhaps the Elf Scholars' tower on Valjan, and the Teacher is the Elf who helps Raleris and Kirsh. But yeah, as far as specific meanings tied to specific cards, only a few of the them have been identified. The Wolf represents danger, and the Dragon is an intensifier. However, Nasperge has also told us that no card in Aubedore has only one meaning, so they likely represent other things, as well.

A thousand years ago, the Dual-Walkers, Syl and Chardis, host the Amphiseum Games, and watch a Djinn battle a mysterious Hyena Pirate.

That would sell out, by the way.

Quote:
The Eightfold Lotus planeswalks to Zent. There, he seeks revenge upon Kimberley Talon.

Quote:
The Amulet of the Planeswalkers has resurfaced from the depths of history, and now Beryl, the Heart-Scarred planeswalks to Iquatana, home of the Æther Flues in search of it. Can she get to it before Daneera?

Hmm. A Beryl/Daneera team up? I think it would work, provided there are no massive bonfires or anything.

Quote:
Rishima, Queen of the Black Sands planeswalks to Regatha. There, she gets entangled in a hilarious romantic folly with Alessa Rehn and Morgan of Voor.

That does sound hilarious.

Quote:
Coincidentally, Tryst and Rishima, Queen of the Black Sands both end up on the first sphere of Phyrexia. There, they hear a strange tale told by an ancient mystic. In the tale, it seems that Yeong Eode has gone missing, and now Ellia the Endbringer goes in search of her. The search takes Ellia from the Djinn-ruled elemental plane Wildfire to Muraganda, home to the Feeding Grounds and finally to Ihn Gallad, where she is attacked by a Mutant Ninja and abandons the search. Tryst and Rishima decide to investigate the tale.

I admit it. I love nested prompts.

Quote:
Desperately, Lia Xin saves Rimarra's life. Now, Rimarra doesn't know how to thank Lia Xin.

This could be a fun one. Moonbeam, next time you're around, this one's all yours.

Quote:
Sava Pith begins traveling with Daneera. But when Daneera converses with The Shifter, Sava is forced to planeswalk to Serra's Realm.

I don't quite follow the logic here, but probably a smart move to get out of there. Also, more Daneera team-ups!

Quote:
Aloise Hartley has grown suspicious of Larasa Farleth and follows the other 'walker to the peaceful plane of Cabralin. There, Nasperge attacks both of them, revealing the true manipulation.

Oh, hey. Yet another Dark Beryl genesis.

Quote:
Alessa Rehn does an Aubedore reading for The Shifter in the "Crossroads" pattern.

For the corners, she draws the Castle (inverted), the Ancient One (inverted), the Wall (inverted), and the Archmage.

For the spokes, she draws the Orchard (inverted), the Wanderer (inverted), the Knight, and the Dreamer.

At the Crossroads, she lays the Ring vertically as the destination, under the fate card of the Well, which is horizontal.

The Shifter does not believe Alessa's interpretation.

That's because he has a lot of information she doesn't. Also, I don't anticipate this meeting going well for anyone, especially any bystanders...

Quote:
Aloise Hartley has a secret admirer! After receiving several gifts, Aloise discovers the secret admirer is Beryl! Aloise doesn't know how to react!

Okay, I admit it. I cheated. This was originally Donagut as the secret admirer. But hey, editorial privilege!

That aubedore reading has some serious implications on it's own, nevermind the ones involved in the reading.

It is a mostly peaceful place, with a single world government ruling over a united, homogenized culture.

The plane's intelligent races include several main races, though a few other less common races can be found. Plant folk, humans, insect folk, noggles, and turtle folk, rule the plane.

The plane's iconic creatures include Griffins, Elementals, Horrors, Hydras, and Krakens.

Here, you'll find the plane is shaped by unusually high volumes of interplanar traffic. Enjoy your stay!..in bed.

In bed? IN BED????

Yup. Sounds like where you would find a Jakk gun.

I must admit, the random...in beds are kind of funny

In the Black Surrakar tavern on Iun Ilana, while drinking, Alessa Rehn gives an Aubedore reading to Nasperge in the "Crossroads pattern."

For the corners, she draws the Well (inverted), the Wall (inverted), the Queen, and the Crow.

For the spokes, she draws the Smith (inverted), the Dreamer, the Endless Maze (inverted), and the Tempest (inverted).

At the Crossroads, she lays the Orphan (inverted) vertically as the destination, under the fate card of the Sufferer, which is horizontal.

Nasperge is visibly shaken by the reading.

I meanm, drawing a fate card called 'the Sufferer' has got to be pretty bad.

I am also pretty sure that Alessa is the least needing of giving an Aubedore reading and Nasperge has the least need of getting one, respectively.

Huh... that prompt is... new. Who put that in there?
(and for the record, that is not me being coy. I legitimately don't know.)

It's a bit funny to imagine this is still all caused by that Jakk gun. Also, damnation Rishima... you're starting to look like you could sub in for one of the Chessmasters if they call in for a sick day.

I truthfully am a bit spoiled for the sheer amount of jokes Alessa could make at this moment.

Nah the plane prompt has been there for a while, I'm pretty sure.

Also I just noticed that I had a random 'respectively' in a sentence ME COULD SPEAKING ENGLISH

The plane prompt's been around for a while. I'm pretty sure Luna put that one in. The "...in bed" prompt was mine. It reads: "[[prompt]..in bed.|[prompt]..in bed.|[prompt]..in bed.|[prompt]..in bed...with chains.] {50%}" The "...with chains" was a gift to Keeper...

That triple "apparently" prompt is awesome. Now I'm just waiting for a naturally occurring "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle" prompt for the army prompt.
