I doubt it's a good idea to actually host the images for all sorts of copyright reasons, but if there's an external database out there I suspect it would be fairly easy to do.

Would this suffice? Seems they keep up to date with spoilers as well, because some of the cards for the new set are listed already.

It appears that Hearthead and Hearthpwn both have all the card images, but index them by numeric ID rather than name so it's not entirely trivial to set up.

That said, we could definitely make it work. There's a bunch of other stuff on my plate right now, though, so it may be a bit.

In the meantime, may I suggest AutocardAnywhere? It supports both Magic and Hearthstone.

The problem is a mix of false positives, especially with things like wisp, and the fact that there's a difference between autocarding everything and only autocarding what you want to autocard. It's also a software every single person in the intended audience would have to install.

right but the alternative is make Welder enter every card's ID number into our database by hand so, you know.

If there is some way to give me the formatting, I'd be willing to help build the database for it to draw from, as well as keeping up with future sets. If that's possible, then all Welder would need to do is add the tag to the forum as well as cut and paste the database.

OK let's do this.

Leeroy Jenkins

Tag is "hs". I threw this together by finding the card data AutocardAnywhere uses, putting together name -> image path mappings, and slightly modifying the Magic autocarding script. So the data source is questionable and things might break. If they do let me know.

It won't update itself and I won't know to update it manually when new sets come out, so let me know when that happens too. :)

Links go to a search for that card's name on Hearthpwn, hope that's OK.

my understanding was that you couldn't because if you did the moderators wouldn't be able to see it, which means you could say something nasty and then delete it before you could get in trouble for it.

That's mostly accurate--avoiding permanent deletion at all costs is why we installed the soft-delete mod in the first place.

Another option might be turning off regular users' ability to see their own soft-deleted posts--I don't see a direct option for it in my own searching through the back end, but Welder knows how to deal with mods way better than I, so I'll ask him about it.

That would deny us the ability to make hidden extra posts in project threads where we may need more space in the future but don't want to clutter up thigns with "reserved" 8 times.

You could still make them--they'd be invisible, but there, and a moderator could make them visible again for you whenever you needed them.

We can certainly set things up so you can't see your soft-deleted posts, but as Lily points out there is some cost to that as well. And, unfortunately, we can't have it both ways: either you can see (and edit) your own soft-deleted posts, or you can't use them as [reserved] space. :/

I cast my vote toward having hidden reserve posts.

yeah I don't use it much but the reserve feature seems pretty useful if you're into that sort of thing.

What about auto-blocking soft-deleted posts?
