(1) Not really.

(2) The mod has a feature to let users choose whether they'll receive notifications when they're thanked/their posts are liked, but it is currently disabled.

So... without a way to know if it's being used... does anyone know if the feature is being used? I almost exclusively hang out between AF&S and M:EM, so I can't say. I just wonder because at current it seems a little superfluous. I like the idea, but it's probably going to be a while before it sees much use where I nest.

And if I understand you correctly in the mod itself currently does not notify users if their posts are thanked (but that feature can be turned on), I would move to turn that feature on. Forums by nature lean more toward preserving past discussions than other formats so it's entirely possible someone would get thanked for a post made a month ago without knowing it. I don't want something that could (potentially) be annoying to some users be turned on from my word alone, though, so don't do so right away.

If I'm misunderstanding and the notification is a per-user feature that's good.

If we are able to have users toggle the thank notifications, we may turn that feature on, but I don't want to have it be mandatory for everyone.

Which mod did you install? Or was it handmade? There's bound to be an SQL query.

Sorry, yeah, I should have been clearer. That functionality is there, but currently turned off.

From the mod control panel:
Quote:
Notices are available: If enabled, notice are available and the user can configure the notification via your profile.

So I'd say it's a by-user preference.

I just meant the total count. If you wanted to, as administrators, see if the Thank button was being used and at what frequency. That information is stored in a table somewhere, or else PHP wouldn't be able to call it dynamically. Regardless of whether people are getting notifications.

Drop shadow bb tag applied to text. Something like this.

I wonder how difficult would it be to implement a feature that remembers which page of a topic you were on if you Cancel instead of Submitting a post?

Second actual request: Activate the Dice Rolling mod in Private Messages.

Easy enough. Should be up shortly.

I have no idea how hard this will be to do, but it should definitely work this way anyways.

Second actual request: Activate the Dice Rolling mod in Private Messages.

Strangely, it looks as though the mod doesn't seem to know about private messages — all of its settings are forum-based, so I can't just click "enable dice in PMs". I feel like it should be fairly simple to add a check for this but I don't want to make any promises yet.

Oh, duh. I am a bit of a moron for asking that, I suppose. Although, as Welder said, it should work like that way regardless.

(On a more personal note [and thus totally unrelated], I very rarely use quick reply (probably because of how often I quote).)

Ew ew ew ew ew. That way of doing it is soooo ugly.
  • style block included every time you use the bbcode
  • hardcoded ids on elements that could appear multiple times in a page
  • will completely fail to work (show the wrong shadow text) if you have more than one [shadow] per page

I just put up something that uses the text-shadow CSS property. It should work on pretty much every browser at this point except IE9 and earlier.

[size=150][shadow]Some shadowed text.[/shadow][/size] ==> Some shadowed text.

You can set the shadow color manually:
[size=150][shadow=purple]More different shadows.[/shadow][/size] ==> More different shadows.
Any HTML color code can be used.

The offsets are set at x: +2, y: +1. This seemed like an OK compromise between looking awful on smaller text and being noticeable on larger text.

Can you add a Shadow button to the ribbon please if you have time so we don't have to type the code for shadow effect. THANKS!

Just trying it out.

Also, so long as it's in the ribbon, would you mind adding a short description? It currently says nothing when I hover over the button.

More trying it out.
