@2bestest

I don't like chandra at this deck. I don't like her at all, but specially at this deck. I suggest you to drop her and Perilous Myr.

Thanks for your input!

I have to say I didn't think she looked good here either but I wanted to try her. I haven't been pleased with her in the matches I have ran the deck and she is going to be cut. Probably for a second Hellhound.

I'm surprised you guys don't like her. I've had great luck with her so far. Nissa is the only one I'm not sold on.

You have to play 2 red spells in a turn to morph her. I feel she is only worth while if you are only splashing a secondary color or mono red. I am moreso black with red splashed.

@ True_Believer:

Myrs have been super helpful over in my Dimir Control deck (which has the most play time currently and is a blast!)

This deck took the black that has proven to work for me, and combined it with the burn and bombs red has to offer. Maybe I don't need them as much here since I have twin bolt and firey impulse to negate early agression. I will mull over ideas to replace them with and do some testing without them. I could see 2 becoming +1 impulse, +1 hellhound. What do you envision for the other 2?

EDIT: I am thinking the other 2 have gotta be Ravaging Blaze. More removal and potential to finish. Yeah.. those are the changes I will test here. -4 myr +1 impulse +1 hellhound +2 Ravaging Blaze

No you don't, one attack and a red spell gets you there, she just needs to deal 3 damage, and the last using her tap effect.

You reached my conclusion without the need for me to tell. Black and red have many spells with spell mastery. Why use Perilous Myr when you can use other spells to do the same and activate spell mastery earlier?

Perilous Myr is a good card to stall the game. It can kill two creatures small creatures or a 3/3 creature. But it is not because of that it will go into every deck you need to stall the early game.

2x Exquisite Firecraft
3x Blazing Hellhound
2x Languish
2x Gilt-Leaf Winnower
2x Embermaw Hellion
2x Chandra's Ignition
2x Kothophed, Soul Hoarder

9x Swamp
9x Mountain
2x Dragonskull Summit
4x Rakdos Guildgate

Play it like the old End of Days. Rain death and destruction until big bombs drop in for the win. Burn spells can be used as finishers too.

Running the hell hounds because they have a decent body in the meta and allow me more targets for Chandra's Ignition. Their ability can be helpful sometimes too. Not running the black planeswalker because I don't feel I have quite enough creatures to reliable morph her. May put her back in later but that was what I was experiencing in my play-testing so far.

Alright made the tweaks. Thanks for the input True_Believer I think you were probably right. Going to give this one some solid play time finally as I think I am very happy with where my Dimir Control pile is sitting.

We have the tools to make a steal / sac everything deck. Only problem is I wonder if it's even worth it this time around with all the low power creatures.

I never thought it was worth it last time. That said, we do have some interesting cards to work with this time - all three option R, B, and colorless have cards that benefit you when they die. So you could build a deck based around killing your own creatures, that also has a steal element. I never know if it will be good, because it is inherent card disadvantage, but it could be worth looking into, IMO.

If you add green to the mix, you can sac creatures to Evolutionary Leap and make up for the card disadvantage.

I am a big fan of perilous myr but I would agree that it isn't always needed in red. Red just has much better early removal options than other colors.

Not a ton of games in yet, but deff feel something isn't right with the changes I made. I am not consistent at all at holding down earlier threats. I feel the Myr may be a necessary evil. Gonna keep going before I set anything in stone. But it doesn't feel right. When the myr were there, I held out far better.

To make a great Rakdos deck just add the following -

4 x Perilous Myr
4 x Nantuko Husk
2 - 4 Goblin Arsonist
2 - 4 Bone Splinters
4 - 8 Twinbolt and/or Reave Soul

Now you have a nice value package to run your midrange deck around, aggro decks will be miserable and control decks will be forced to deal with tiny creatures that annoy them.

Now add 2 - 5 Act of Treason/Traitorous Instinct (remember Bone Splinters can be a nasty sac option), your favorite rates and mythics, some Read the Bones just cuz, and go win some games :)

What has always turned me off about steal and sac decks is how reliant they are on your enemies playing creatures. (I know you pretty much gotta run creatures now but still.)

I do think nantuko and splitters help alot this time around.

Don't get me wrong, I hate em'! I hate steal and sac decks, but they will be popular because they will give a hard time to all the creature decks. Therefore, I play one quite a bit to get the feel for it. I find them easy to beat with control decks, which is great! Here is what seems to happen a lot right now -

G/w, W/U, Red, B/G elves, G elves < R/B Midrange steal-sac < various Control, mostly three color decks based on Flameshadow or B/U traditional control.

So R/B kills all those annoying weenie decks, and us control players mop up R/B, because it relies on enemies playing creatures! Hence, my almost creatureless B/U mill control really mops up. So see, I hate R/B, but I love it because it makes winning with control much easier :)

Does the link work?

Here's my updated theorycraft Rakdos Control deck. I'm also testing Tappedout's deckbuilder :-)

Yep, works, looks great. I wonder if there is a way to embed them. That would solve literally everything.
