Kitar closes his arms and raises his eyebrows as Luka talks. "Well, that might explain why everyone around here is complaining about problems and the constable is so pissed off. Do you know where this Lance Rock is and how long it takes to get there?"

Luka cocked her head slightly, "It might, though it's also possibly everyone just has a case of the grumpy-grumps, happens to the best of us from time to time. Regardless though, it's about half a day away if we travel by foot, although I would assume we could probably rent horses or something similar somewhere." she added, turning to Kaylessa expectantly.

Kaylessa thinks for a moment and says, "We do have horses of course, but not in great volume. The last traveler who bought one spent 150 gold pieces for a light horse, I can't say how many we have left that can be spared. There's been talk of bandits on the Cairn Road, and fewer of our trade caravans have been returning."

Iados can do nothing but give an apologetic shrug towards Amycipus as she is wrestled off his back and sent on her way. He lowers himself onto one of the available chairs before casting an appraising look first towards this Mister Thirty-Four and then onwards towards the patrons who seem so quick to leave after the groups arrival. "Don't worry yourself - she was no trouble. Less so then a few of the other townsfolk I encountered at any rate."

He rolls his room key around in his hands while listening to Luka recount the information she had gathered. "I don't suppose your sources we're anymore forthcoming beyond an 'evil presence'? I've no issue with inspecting the place if it puts the townsfolk at east but I'd prefer to know if we're running into a group of bandits or a pit fiend sitting out there." At the mention of acquiring mounts the frown the serves as his resting expression deepens. It wasn't that it was a bad suggestion - he just hated the damned things and they in turn hated him back.

Hex pocketed his key as he listened to the others quibble over Luka's report. When Kaylessa mentioned bandits on the road, Hexion picked up the conversation. "Bandits you say? Evil to the south and bandits to the east. That's quite a bit of trouble this bor... er, peaceful town has picked up," he said, then looked about his companions expectantly. "Say, I seem to recall one of you good folks being after a bandit of some sort."

Kitar lowers his eyes and chuckles a bit, in a cocky act. "Who said anything about traveling on foot or horse, Luka?" As he says that, he does a little flap of wings. "I was planning to go to this Rock to scout today before we all get there tomorrow, but this might be the weakest lead you ever got us. Searching for road bandits looks way better in comparison. Which reminds me..." The aarakocra approaches Kaylessa. "Excuse me, ma'am. Who are the people talking about bandits on the Cairn Road?"

"That would be Harburk Tuthmarillar," Kaylessa replies. "He's the one everyone goes to when a trade caravan comes through with less than it should. He's been keeping a close eye on the affairs, but his exceedingly busy schedule doesn't let him go do something about it. He's a proud and rather grumpy man. He lives behind Jalessa's butcher shop. They're a cute couple. They sometimes come in for a drink."

Luka raised her arms in mock despair "Well, sorry but having spent my life cursedly shackled by the laws of gravity, I'm not really sure how long it takes to fly there, but I figure you'd be able to convert it from feet to flaps if you needed." Turning to Iados, she added "Nah, we don't really have much to go on, but if I know anything about narrative it shouldn't be anything that we can't handle. Or, y'know, we'll all die horribly, in which case the apocalypse was probably already inevitable and it wouldn't really matter what we did, but at least we went down punching a dracolich in the mouth, so it's really a win-win, relatively speaking. Plus if we go investigate the presence, it'll likely either indirectly deal with the bandits, or by the time we get back they'll have escalated into enough of a problem that Sheriff McGrumps might be more willing to let us help." Luka paused to think for a moment. "Well then sounds like horses are probably out but if we sell all of our liquid assets and buy a wagon and as many pigs as we can afford, then find a gnome or druid to train them... Actually never mind, then we'd lose the element of surprise, might just be best to travel on foot" She gave Kitar a playful wink before adding "or whatever other natural means of transport."

"I'd say a vaguely evil presence is far more interesting and...relevant...than some bandits. Besides, we should uphold our promise to our lovely host. Those bandits will still be there." Despite the drink, Obed has not forgotten his goal of finding the man capable of summoning a sea storm. "But at the same time, does it make sense to set off today? What did you say, it's four hours away? Do we want to get there around dusk?"

Iados sits silent as the others talk, considering their suggestions and their advise. Kitar was already kicking up a fuss about nothing as usual while Luka tried to keep things from becoming serious - again as usual. Surprisingly however it was Obed who spoke up and became the voice of reason. "We will investigate this presence and we will deal with your bandits. However we can do neither tonight." He looks up, points a clawed finger towards Kitar. "You boast of your speed and prowess magpie but it is your eyes we need. You can not see in the dark and a blind scout is worthless to us. You could fly over that rock a dozen times and see nothing important."

He looks slowly over the rest of the group before continuing. "The rest of you have traveled hard to be here and many of you could use a good meal and a warm bed before you attempt to rush into an unknown peril." He gaze falls onto the empty goblet clasped in Obed's hand. "I would guess some of us need that sleep more than others." He stand, nodding towards Kaylessa. "If it will allay your fears I will sleep now and patrol the village after dark. When dawn comes that presence, whatever it is, will be little more than a memory and the bandits that plague you will face justice for their deeds." He turns back to face the others, expecting the usual complaints that follow his pronouncements.

Luka grinned at Iados. "Resting for the evening is probably wise, but this town seems liable to call in a team of exorcists if their tea time is a minute late, so I'm not sure an armored tiefling stalking around the village at night would be the most reassuring sight."

Kitar does very little to hide how bored he is while Iados speaks. When the tiefling finishes, the ranger yawns loudly. "Your speeches tire me more than walking down the whole Trade Way, horns. It's really smart of you to go talk yourself to sleep now." The aarakocra doesn't wait for an answer and turns back and starts walking towards the exit. When he walks by Kaylessa again, he says to the woman. "Don't worry. As a group, we might hate each other, but we'll get the job done." He then proceeds to leave the inn.

As Kitar walks out the Inn's door, Kaylessa heaves a sigh and says, "Why am I beginning to doubt that?" She turns from the group and heads into the back rooms. Only five of you are left in the entryway and dining room of The Swinging Sword, keys in hand for your rooms.

Dev and Luka


Dev and Luka excuse themselves after Kitar takes his leave and step out into the afternoon, scanning the streets up and down. Just to their right, they lay eyes upon what looks to be a grand stone mansion. Two wide wooden doors painted with the symbols of many gods stand open, inviting anyone who passes by to come inside. They walk in, and see little but a plain stone alter and a human male and a human female praying at it. Behind them are two plain wooden doors, unadorned except for a ringed handle to grant them access to whatever is behind them. Walking in, you two are noticed, and the people praying wave you to come inside and join them. Some casual conversation will reveal the man to be Imdarr Relvaunder a follower of Tempus, and Lymmura Auldarhk, a devotee of Sune. Imdarr is quite gruff with you, and doesn't seem all that interested in conversation after a few quick quips from Luka, apparently he doesn't like your tone. Fortunately, Dev picks up the slack and manages to strike up a decent conversation with Imdarr. Lymmura takes a bit more liking to Luka and discusses what they saw on the roads.

Between the two of you, you'll find out that Imdarr and Lymmura came into Red Larch by the Cairn Road and did encounter the bandits. According to them, the bandits got the drop on the caravan that they came in on, but were unwilling to attack once they found out that there was a priest of Tempus there. There were about nine bandits from their count, though Imdarr claims there were ten, and Lymmura claims she saw nine. They're about 70 miles outside of town, not an easy trip by any means, but you do know where they are, approximately. You also discover that the name of this building is the Allfaiths Shrine, aptly named because it is not dedicated to any one deity. Priests and priestesses travel many towns over to pray here, and generally work in pairs of two so that the shrine isn't ever directly involved with only one faith. The doors behind them have their personal belongings.

Imdaar and Lymmura invite you to pray with them, and after a short exchange, you two take a knee and pray to your individual deities. Once you're done, about an hour later, you two will feel very refreshed, both physically and mentally. Lymmura will give Luka a very expensive gown for her patience with the prayer. The dress is made of a magical spidersilk that will not only fit the form of the wearer perfectly, but can also change its form slightly to fit different occasions. This gift is being passed on due to her having run into one of the Megurine Troupe's members two towns ago, who had saved her life. She gives you this gift to pass the favor along. A quick inspection will give you an estimate of well over one hundred gold pieces in value. Imdaar takes more of a liking to Dev and the twin axes he carries. He scoffs at the dress Lymmura gives Luka, and instead hands you a handaxe, made entirely of silver. Not only is the blade silver, but the handle as well, and it looks to be one solid piece. There is even texture to the handle to keep your hands from slipping in combat, and when you touch the blade lightly, it cuts the tip of your finger with barely a whisper of pressure.


(ooc: The silver handaxe is masterwork with a +1 to attack and +1 to damage. It also follows all the advantages against specific types of enemies who are weak against the power of silver weapons. In addition, being full silver that you hold contact with, any healing will grant you an additional +1 HP when used. While not as drastic, silver in the real work helps fight disease and improves health. The dress will require a DC 18 Wisdom check to have it change form, but it will not revert to it's innate form of a white gown until a new check is attempted, or it is taken off. Up until then, it will hold the form you choose. It's also not machine washable. Until you gain more mastery over it, you may only attempt to change the outfit twice per day, after that, you won't have enough will to impose over it, the "magic" needed does drain you a little.)

With many thanks given to the two priests, Dev and Luka head back out into the streets of Red Larch. At this point, they both realize that prayers must have taken even longer than they thought, because the sun is beginning to set, and it is around five or six in the afternoon. You two head back to the Swinging Sword to prep for the evening. It takes a little while to find Kaylessa, but once you do she works out that you'll be performing outside tonight, in front of the Inn with the tables and chairs from the inside set up outside. There is one lone chair against the face of the building for Luka to perform. Seems word has spread around the town as well, because there's a fairly large crowd of twenty-five or so people to see Luka perform. Hexion is in the crowd, and Obed is sitting at one of the tables, almost as though the workers had moved him right in his own chair to the outside. Iados and Kitar are nowhere to be seen. Kaylessa waits for a bit longer until the sun goes down, as many of her workers are out in the evening with you all, serving many drinks to the citizens. More have come out by now, and there is a good crowd of almost forty people. A few torches are lit around Luka's stage.

Luka takes out her violin, and the crowd politely claps to welcome her. Many of the men are clearly captivated be her beauty. And then Luka draws out her rapier, and the crowd goes silent. Basking in the silence for only a short moment, Luke launches into song and dance and soon has the crowd captivated. She spins a long yarn of a group of sailors, lost at sea, washed up on a strange land and the adventures they had together. The song lasts for almost two full hours, the crowd becoming more and more absorbed by the tale until Luka finishes it with a flourish, and leaves the crowd stunned silent. The silence hangs in the air as Luka breathes heavily, thoroughly worn out from the performance. Looking around at the crowd, the two of you also now spy Iados in the crowd by Hexion, a rare grin plastered on his face. As the crowd departs, many of the townspeople approach Luka, thank her for the entertainment, and drop coins on her chair. In total, Luka will earn 88 copper pieces. After, everyone heads to The Helm at Highsun, the tavern across the road for a meal.



Kitar


Kitar walks out of the Inn and into the mid-afternoon sun, stretches his wings and takes flight. Circling the town, he begins a similar tour as before, skimming the tops of roofs to avoid too many onlookers. Kitar heads out of the town quickly to clear his head, and once out of the direct sight, takes his flight to higher altitudes. From this vantage point, Kitar can see the edge of the Sumber Hills to the North-East, it's many mountainous hills blocking the view from seeing beyond. To his South-West, The Westwood's forest line is barely on the horizon. The air is cool, and it's easy for Kitar to coast along the breeze. Heading along Larch Path, you can see the trail that's been clearly blazed through the Sumber Hills, though staying along it doesn't yield any new opportunities. It's been about an hour at this point, and Kitar is beginning to feel bored and restless, and with nothing to either attack or converse with, he heads back to Red Larch, feeling very much refreshed and significantly less stressed. As Kitar approached the town, he spies an adult and a child walking out of the East gate down the Cairn Road. Diving down, he sees Thirty-Four and Amycipus walking hand in hand down the road.

Swooping to the ground, Kitar lands as close to Thirty-Four and Amycipus as he is able, blocking their way and asks them what they're up to. Thirty-Four explains he is Amycipus' instructor for arcane teachings, and that they're heading out to deal with the bandits on the road at Harburk's suggestion. Well, Harburk asked Thirty-Four to deal with it, but Thirty-Four decided it was a good time to teach Amycipus about some real life combat. Kitar insists on joining them, but Thirty-Four explains that Ghileeda overheard your conversations about inspecting Lance Rock, and that they were going to be gone for probably over a day. Even flying, Kitar wouldn't have enough time to join them on this journey, but Thirty-Four insists that he will keep Amycipus safe and secure, and that she may even be the one saving him. They get heading out, and Kitar is left to fly back to Red Larch on his own. Along the way, he spies something shiny poking out of the ground near the gate into Red Larch. Again, he swoops down to inspect.

It takes a bit of work, but Kitar digs the object out of the ground. Upon getting it out of the ground, Kitar's eyes go wide as he sees his prize. It is a solid pound brick of silver, an item worth about five gold pieces. It must have fallen off of a caravan as it rocked over the potholes in the roads leading into town, and nobody must have noticed. At the way it was pushed down into the ground, it was lucky Kitar saw it at all, the light must have caught it just right. What a lucky break that must have been. Kitar heads into the town with the newly found brick, and begins to search for a place to fence it. Where Larch Path and the Cairn Road meets, Kitar finds exactly what he was looking for. Both ends of this soot-stained building are massive stone blocks that rise into tall, wide chimneys and there is a din of forge hammers ringing out loudly. Kitar heads in and spies a human man who introduces himself as Eldras Tantur.

Eldras explains that he is the resident blacksmith, and that his shop isn't a store. Ironhead Arms on the Long Road is the actual merchant for the blacksmith. Eldras hasn't heard anything about any of the troubles in Red Larch, he very much keeps to himself. His wife is the one who wheels and deals with the traveling merchants for metals for his work, and she's the one who gossips, but right now she's not in the shop, and neither are his children currently. Kitar holds up the silver for Eldras, who takes it and inspects it closely. After a bit of examination, he'll trade Kitar 20 gold coins for the brick, four times it's value. After the exchange, Eldras explains that over time, the metal for coins becomes watered down with cheaper metals to generate more coins over time. This brick isn't watered down, it's pure silver. It won't become used for currency, but will go towards a masterwork weapon to assist in the fight against the demons and undead of the world, and assures Kitar that he's done something very, very good for the world. He also will give Kitar a special shield. Kitar will attempt to explain that he can't carry a shield because it interferes with his wings, either carried or worn on his back. Eldras explains that this shield is special. His wife, Laefra, who talks to the merchants has told him stories passed down to her by the merchants of the Aarakocra people. Engrossed by these stories, Eldras has crafted a special shield. It's a bit longer than most, but also thinner and has inlets on either side to allow an Aarakocra's wings to flap while it is worn on their backs without blocking their range of movement. He insists Kitar takes it with him as additional payment for the silver.


(ooc: The shield will grant Kitar a +2 AC bonus against attacks from behind when worn, and a +1 to AC while carried into battle. It adds only two pounds of weight when flying, and will not interfere when worn on the back with any flight speed. In addition, it has a metal spike in it's center that will add +1 damage of the shield is used for a shield bash or if it makes contact with an attacker who is bull rushing Kitar. Or.... whatever D&D 5E calls a bull rush or shield bash. Same idea as always really. Either way, due to its weight, it will not count towards wearing armor or carrying a shield against abilities of Kitar, even though you wouldn't be able to wear another shield over it.)

Heading out of the blacksmith, Kitar will run into Harburk. The evening is now setting in, and a few torches light the streets, though not overly well. Harburk has two of the town's guard walking with him as he makes his rounds. Kitar will fall in and walk with him for a bit, amazingly not putting his talon in his mouth too much. Harburk explains that he sent Thirty-Four out to deal with the bandits. He objected to Thirty-Four taking Amycipus with him as well, but he couldn't exactly go toe to toe with a mage himself. He also explains his jobs around the town. He works at the butcher shop with his girlfriend, Jalessa. He helps her out breaking down the new animals, using his brute force for some good. In the evening, he also takes on the role of guard and constable, patrolling the town and keeping everyone safe. There's little to disturb such a quiet town, but it's still a job that needs doing, especially in a place that has no walls to keep out some of the more nasty animals in the woods. In between dealing with what few problems creep up during the day, working in the butcher shop, and patrolling through the night, he has little time for sleep, which is why he was rather cranky to find Kitar snooping outside his house and responded with annoyance at Kitar's rolling of his eyes. This conversation lasts for quite some time, and Harburk even seems to warm up to Kitar a little bit, and stops insulting him. Harburk also informs Kitar that his friends seem to be performing tonight as well, but by now, the performance is probably over.

Finally, Kitar tires of walking with Harburk and his guards, and flies over to The Helm at Highsun to grab a bite of food before turning in. He hadn't eaten all day, and Kitar is beginning to feel a bit weak from not having fed as of yet.



Obed


As everybody heads off on their own directions, Obed continues to sit and sip his drink, a pleasant buzz now keeping a light grin on his face as Ghileeda keeps his glass full. He asks Ghileeda about other bars to visit, but she assures him that the only other one is The Helm at Highsun across the street, and they focus more on food than drink. Obed and Ghileeda share a little more conversation, though he learns little more except the names of each of the stores in the area, and a little about each one. The conversation remains pleasant, though Obed begins to realize that Ghileeda is pressing him a little too hard for a casual conversation about who he is, where he is from, and what he's doing in Red Larch. Obed gets the distinct feeling Ghileeda may be more than she seems.

(ooc: If you want the small information about each one, just ask in the OOC thread since it'd take a long time to type up the brief description of each and every one of the 22 locations marked around Red Larch. Likewise, I am aware you already have access to the Princes of the Apocalypse book, so if you're able to separate player and character knowledge, you may read the descriptions of the locations yourself, as well as know the names of the people within, as well as their genders and races, though not where they are from.)


After the conversation, Obed pays for his drinks and heads out into the late afternoon of Red Larch. The workers of The Swinging Sword are taking the tables out of the dining room and moving them outside for Luka's performance tonight. Slinking away down an alleyway between the buildings, Obed changes his disguise a bit and emerges back onto the streets. Having listened to what his compatriots have done so far, and taking into account what Ghileeda has informed him of, Obed heads North along The Long Road, the only part of the town thus far that has gone unexplored by his allies. His walk takes him all the way to the Norther-most point of the town, stopping by Mellikho Stoneworks. A sign set on two posts in a scrap of weedy lawn out front of this small house has a sign with the store's name. The quarry pit begins just behind the house, which serves as the business office and the home of the quarry owner, Albaeri Mellikho a female human. Mellikho herself oversees the work in the quarry, cajoling and cursing the sweating stonecutters here. After talking to Mellikho for a bit, Obed makes a disturbing discovery. Over the last month or two, the stonecutters have been scared off by mysterious dark-robed figures wearing stone masks, who watch them from the shadows during the evening. Rumors of a dark cult are now common among the workers there, and though it's pretty well known in the shop, they haven't reached out to the town at large as of yet due to fear of being mocked. Mellikho can't offer a reward as of yet, but promises Obed that she would find some way of payment if someone could do something about this. She does give Obed a small crystal as a token of good faith. She says she found it in the quarry, and that she has no idea what use it could have, it's not a stone indigenous to the area. It's small, about five inches in diameter and perfectly smooth all around, and has no apparent uses.

(ooc: If you look at the crystal using magic, you will see it thrums with an unknown magical aura, that's all I can tell you right now)

Obed heads out, and dusk is getting ready to fall. He heads back to The Swinging Sword, where the tables and chairs are ready for the show, and Ghileeda is now serving drinks outside. He spots his table, and sits down and is immediately greeted by a cup of wine. A few minutes later, Dev and Luka walk up from the south where the Allfaiths Shrine is. Hexion is in the crowd, though Iados and Kitar are nowhere to be seen. Kaylessa waits for a bit longer until the sun goes down, as many of her workers are out in the evening with you all, serving many drinks to the citizens. More have come out by now, and there is a good crowd of almost forty people. A few torches are lit around Luka's stage.

Luka takes out her violin, and the crowd politely claps to welcome her. Many of the men are clearly captivated be her beauty. And then Luka draws out her rapier, and the crowd goes silent. Basking in the silence for only a short moment, Luke launches into song and dance and soon has the crowd captivated. She spins a long yarn of a group of sailors, lost at sea, washed up on a strange land and the adventures they had together. The song lasts for almost two full hours, the crowd becoming more and more absorbed by the tale until Luka finishes it with a flourish, and leaves the crowd stunned silent. The silence hangs in the air as Luka breathes heavily, thoroughly worn out from the performance. Looking around at the crowd, you also now spy Iados in the crowd by Hexion, a rare grin plastered on his face. As the crowd departs, many of the townspeople approach Luka, thank her for the entertainment, and drop coins on her chair. After, everyone heads to The Helm at Highsun, the tavern across the road for a meal.



Hexion


Hexion thinks for a bit about what he heard his allies saying, and watches as Kitar, and then Dev and Luka head out. He heads out a little after Dev and Luka, and breathes in a deep breath of the afternoon air. Hexion heads South along The Long Road back to the plain square building that's coated in a graywhite shroud of rock dust. The afternoon air hangs fairly heavy around here, chocking a bit with the dust that seems to ooze out of every pore of the building. Heading inside, Hexion meets Elak Dornen, a human male who runs this establishment known as Dornen Finestone. Hexion talks with Dornan for a little while. Dornan seems to have nothing of substance to say to Hexion, and keeps the conversation light and evasive. Eventually, Hexion pushes him a bit and Dornan tells him he’s heard stories of a lost treasure and mysterious villains lurking in Tricklerock Cave. Tricklerock Cave is just North-East of Red Larch, in the Southern area of the Sumber Hills, very close to the town, about sixteen miles away from the town's limits.

Dornan tells Hexion he is very busy and has to go attend to some business. He goes through the back door into an office. Hexion is briefly left alone in the room, and quickly gets to work investigating, keeping an ear out for Dornan to return from his business. The stones on the tables are uncut and fairly boring, but there are racks of scrolls and books to thumb through. Records of orders and old employment rolls are neatly sorted, and thumbing through them is tedious and boring, until you happen upon a scroll with very different markings. With a renewed interest, Hexion plows through the rest of the nearby scrolls, eventually finding two more with similar arcane markings. At best guess, these are magical scrolls with spells, but since you have no experience with spellcasting, you have no idea what kind of spells, and you don't press your luck by trying to read or compare them just in case they are trapped. Hexion carefully pockets them in his backpack, just in time to seem completely inconspicuous to Dornan as he returns through the door. Hexion has a little more conversation to seem like he isn't in a hurry, and then excuses himself and slips out of the shop.


(ooc: You have three stolen magical scrolls, though their contents will remain a mystery until someone of arcane teachings is able to take a close look at them. Based on a cursory look, you'd guess they are all the same, but there's no guarantee until they are properly examined.)

Walking back up the street to The Swinging Sword, Hexion becomes distracted by his own thoughts and walks straight into a young Half-Elf woman, knocking both of them onto the ground. A few of Hexion's possessions fall out the top of his backpack, and the young lady scrambles to help Hexion pick everything up. She apologizes profusely, and hurries along her way, a slight blush in her cheeks as she does, and a quick stride to her as well. Hexion heads back to The Swinging Sword without further ado. Once he is back, the afternoon is becoming a little late, and the workers of The Swinging Sword are moving the tables and chairs to the outside to accommodate a hopefully larger crowd than the dining room may permit. Hexion is roped into helping, and Obed is nowhere to be seen. Once the job is done, Hexion sits down at a table and opens his pack to take a look at his spoils. The scrolls are still there, but the rest of the bag seems a little light, and further inspection reveals that his hammer and all five candles are missing. Seems that the young woman may have pick-pocketed him while she was helping him reclaim his fallen possessions. Lightly cursing to himself, he repacks his bag and prepares for the show.

Obed returns as the crowd is beginning to grow, and quickly sits back down at a table and begins to drink again. Dev and Luka make their way back from the South, and watch as well as the tables and chairs fill up. Kitar and Iados are nowhere to be seen as of yet. Iados


Iados watches his allies head out the door, save for Obed who is still drinking at the same table he's been at for a while now. He turns around and hunts down Room 3 so he can take a nap. Iados will sleep through the afternoon and into the evening, and get a full night's rest and all the benefits that come from it. Iados will wake up late in the evening to sounds of music, singing and cheering. He walks outside to find Luka doing a great performance, and even catches the last twenty minutes of it. Luka finishes it with a flourish, and leaves the crowd stunned silent. The silence hangs in the air as Luka breathes heavily, thoroughly worn out from the performance. Looking around at the crowd, you see Hexion, Dev and Obed, all watching her show, looks of fascination on their faces. As the crowd departs, many of the townspeople approach Luka, thank her for the entertainment, and drop coins on her chair. After, everyone heads to The Helm at Highsun, the tavern across the road for a meal.

(ooc: Your rolls will be used after the meal at The Helm at Highsun. Since you asked to sleep while the others worked, up until this point, you haven't gotten anything unique done, though you will get the same full treatment as the others while they sleep.)

Everyone

All of you trickle into The Helm at Highsun, a ramshackle tavern that looks like it's been abandoned for years and that this is the first time anyone has used it, in appearances anyways. A good number of people are in here as well due to Luka's long show, and are now merrily ordering food and drink. Inside is a large, dimly lit, wood-paneled taproom. An open-tread wooden staircase climbs to the upper floor, which is just as dim and darkly paneled as the taproom. Across the back of the taproom is a long bar with three copper candle-lanterns hanging over it, and a stair leading down to the cellars. You guys find an open table near the back and sit down, though it is a bit cramped for space. Probably about 30 patrons other than you six are in here, and the place is quite loud with all the bodies. There seem to be three or four servers working tonight, as well as a fairly weather looking middle-aged human male behind the bar. After a bit, a young human girl will approach the table. She's wearing a fairly plain but form fitting set of clothing, with a stained white apron hanging off her hips.

"Ev'ning to you all," she says. "Can I get you anything?"

"Evening, young lady. Bring me something to eat. What the house best has to offer. And do not bring bird food. I'm tired of this joke." Kitar answers with a raised hand. "And also bring ale. I'm thirsty!"

As everyone make their requests for the waitress and she leaves, the aarakocra turns to his companions. "Well, I have good news. It looks like someone else is going to take care of the bandits problem, which leaves us free to go to Lance Rock. Also, the constable is only a grumpy bastard when he doesn't get his beauty sleep, and I think I'm on his good side now. Oh, and the blacksmith's wife seems to be well informed. Might be worth asking her some questions down the line." He lays back on his chair and crosses his arms. "How about you guys, what did you learn?"
