You can say a few sentences now, assuming you pass your check.

I can't remember if it's 11 or 12 rn and I'm away from my notes but you two made it.

And no, you don't add your proficiency bonus. It's just a dexterity check, not a dexterity saving throw.

I'm not sure if a bunch of lvl 2's can handle a dragon, so you can be damn sure I'm not attacking this thing unless provoked.

EDIT: Also DS, you described the map, but I can't find it.

DS, when the dragon uses the word mongrel does it indicate a specific individual, or does it seem concentrated on any particular individual?

I say we make 'running away from dragons and hiding' an ongoing trend in DS's campaigns. Regardless of level, equipment or intention every dragon we meet will be met with panicked screaming and hiding in bushes.

Did you meet another dragon on iron skies campaign? How was that?

No, the dragon has not indicated who or what the abomination is.

We saw it falling from the sky, all covered in flames and fury, then like the great heroes of old we turned around, hid in bushes and stayed very quiet until it got bored and went away.

...and when I say went away I mean 'went and burned down a good portion or the city of Hoi Lan Fa before being driven off'. Not our proudest moment admittedly.

Dragons mix really well with oriental settings so don't sweat it. Very nice way of portraying them too.

Thanks.

FYI, "oriental" is not an appropriate term in English anymore. It's "Asian" or "East Asian".

Well, that's part of the problem with "oriental". It refers to whatever area east of Europe that was in vogue at the time. It originally referred to West Asia, like Persia, etc., and now it is most often used to refer to East Asia. It has also been used to refer to (North) Africa, though it is not east of Europe. "Oriental" basically refers to an exotic far-off land from a European/North American perspective. It is an imprecise, outdated, and unnecessary term.

A lot of fantasy is written this way, imo, where the ~Exotic Orient~ is written in a shallow way, at best.

I think it is our fault. From ancient times Greeks called Asians orientals, dividing among far east, middle east , and small Asia which was the actual Turkish to Iranian part. Geographically it makes sense on a Greek point of view, Russia was up north and Israel and Saudi Arabia too south to be counted. The fact near east isn't really used is probably because it was Greek or Byzantine territory for much of our history, at least I think so. Asian or Oriental Asian makes much more sense considering a global point of view

If they are an important part of your world, this shouldn't be a problem. I don't think Tolkien overuses Hobbits or humans overuse humans :P

I changed the original text description to reflect Chen Wu's bullets. I originally skipped over any explicit indication of how Chen Wu cast fog cloud to leave it up to him but I figure that's what he was doing.

You nailed it. Fog Cloud is basically a smoke grenade he shots at stuff.

Also, just to be clear, is Chen Wu the abomination?
