Hey, just wanting to let all know that I haven't been getting online as much as I'd like to. Phone's dying and with it my internet connection, and don't know how much longer it will be before I can get a new one. True_believer, Trappedslider, sorry for the absence and not finishing the games.

Maybe sometime in the future can continue them. Don't know what the future will bring though.

Do you have a pdf? I wouldn't mind running a game that doesn't require coming up with custom stuff.

Of course, of course. Silly me.

On the other hand, should I purchase the book for this express purpose, I am woefully uneducated in 5E. Would you be willing to assist me in the rules as I run it?

Both amusing and disturbing.

I guess the change on the unarmed strike is the biggest one? Although it doesn't change anything for Lee, since the monk gets to use the original rule. Too bad he can't use Water Whip and still attack in the same turn, though :(

The unarmed strike one is interesting. I wonder if unarmed strikes are supposed to be a thing then? If it's removed from the list then outside of monks unarmed strikes have no rules (that I recall). Unless you treat them as improvised weapons in which case whoo everyone gets a damage buff.

For the record the two things I expected to see changed were;
1) Monk Marital Arts bonus attacks (specifically losing to +Str/Dex mod on damage to bring it in line with the TWF rules)
2) Mountain Dwarves changed to CON +2, STR +1 to bring them in line with every other race

Unarmed Strike now has its own rule and it's in the errata:

Quote:
Melee Attacks (p. 195). The rule on unarmed strikes should read as follows: “Instead of using a weapon to make a melee weapon attack, you can use an unarmed strike: a punch, kick, head-butt, or similar forceful blow (none of which count as weapons). On a hit, an unarmed strike deals bludgeoning damage equal to 1 + your Strength modifier. You are proficient with your unarmed strikes.”

Everyone follows this rule except the Monk class (he rolls 1d4 bludgeoning damage + mod + prof and it increases with levels) and the Aarakocra race (he always rolls 1d4 slashing damage + mod + prof).

1) Monk Marital Arts bonus attacks

You really embraced this house rule, eh?

Well I'm officially blind. Good to see there is at least a rule about it. Guess they just didn't want people enchanting there fists and things again like back in 3.5 ed. Makes sense.

I wouldn't call it a house rule so much as 'the book says nothing on the matter and there is in fact evidence to the contrary'. So yeah I consider it to be a legit rule.

Edit: Oh I see what you talking about now. Very funny. Rocks fall. You die.

Of all the RPGs going on, everything is 5E. That's kinda sad, I was hoping for more diversity.

It's the new system. Everyone wants to play with it. What ya gonna do?

Plus there is a 3.5 game currently in set up so that's something.

Someone should run a Gamma World game. I've never played, personally, but I have heard that the system is built to be really silly.

Please drop by this thread for a discussion about what the RPG/PbP community can bring to the table for the Front Page. This thread is specific to our community, so I could use all the input you guys can give!
