I don't play this game anymore and I deleted it 3 times at total. But I wanted to post my best deck, not exactly in the sense of winnings, but the most fun and capable of winning consistently. It was a version of my first deck and the my worst deck in terms of game score. :D

Shock is to give the deck an early game and it is simply indispensable to survive against aggro. Together with Ground Assault, Elvish visionary and Anger of the Gods, your chances of surviving the early game is decent. I would have preferred Burst Lightning or Lightning Bolt.

The amount of draw is good enough to keep up against control decks and surpass decks with a similar strategy in a war of attrition. Haste helps tipping the score in this deck favor too: 3 creatures have haste and 2 more can make others gain haste.

Warstorm Surge is the best card against control and your late game removal, but the best way to play it is through Genesis Hydra.

This is the deck I'm going to be messing around with this next week, it's nothing too special, just chip at the opponent early game with Hellspark/Rabblemaster then finishing them off as fast as possible with huge damage either from creatures, or Warstorm Surge.
So far it's been pretty crazy (topdecking a Vengevine with a Warstorm on the field and then using Wrecking Ogre to deal 18 damage on the counterswing is probably the highlight.)

Btw whoever made this deck planner deserves a medal, it blew my mind haha

Yo Nighthawk, glad to see you jump aboard. You should start a thread in the main forum just to let people know that you're a YT content producer or at least add a signature that calls it out. I don't comment very much, but I'm still watching, keep up the good work.

Hey, after running Hakeem's Izzet deck for 1x games without loss, I decided that I'd like to try something similar, but in Gruul.

I started with the standard red basis + green pump spells, but I got chump blocked quite a lot. So I added Tectonic Rift which makes all my creatures nearly unblockable (not counting opponent's fliers). The result of testing was quite surprising, maybe the deck isn't as explosive as the Izzet version, but pulls wins out of nowhere when you swing with all the tokens generated by Young Pyromancer into a solid defense, that can't block ;-) The pump spells are another way of finishing the enemy when you have more creatures. Most people also don't expect the pump spells in defense which can lead to nice kills :-)

I made a Gruul Warp World deck that is a lot of fun so I figured I would share. Would love to hear comments / suggestions, cheers :)

Gruul's World

A deck for Magic 2015.

Craterhoof Behemoth5/5
Spell19 cards

Raised by Wolves
■■■
Spider Spawning
■■
Warstorm Surge
■■
Warp World
Land22 cards
■■■■
Gruul Guildgate
11

7

So the thought is just to amass tokens until you either draw Warp World or Craterhoof . Tokens can be spawned a dime a dozen not to mention Mycoloth is there to eat tokens for greater spawning. There's also the chance that when you use Warp World you will get the Warstorm Surge / Behemoth combo. You can also play straight aggressive by continuous assault with tokens. Enjoy :) !

This is the deck I have been most successful with - 38 wins, 5 losses to date. It is not a deck I thought would work; it just seemed fun to try. Then, much to my surprise, I won my first 11 games with it, and it kept doing well after that.

Dragons. All of the dragons. With ramp to get to them, burn spells and cantrips to survive until you do, and a few big green creatures. And Vengevine, because he's cool and synergizes with the Wayfinders.

Siege Dragon has been an unexpectedly strong performer. He just obliterates tokens or early aggro creatures. He can function a bit like a re-usable Anger.

There are a lot of big creatures in there, 1/5 of the deck, but it's been pretty important to be able to play more threats than the other guy can counter or remove, so that seems reasonable to me. I'd really like to get the second Arbor Colossus in, but I'm not sure what I'd cut for it. Really ought to just put him in and run a 61 card deck probably.

I know you said that 20 lands hasn't been a problem for you, but I wonder if you're not looking at things differently than I do. A major problem I have with 20 land decks is that I'd often end up with a starting hand of 1 land, a cultivate, and a darksteel ingot, or some similar combination. That's a hand I usually have to mulligan because I can't risk not drawing any actual lands. Even if you have a high number of total mana sources in your deck, do you not find difficulty in getting reliable starting hands?

With 7 cards that ramp you from 3 to 5, I'd want more of the powerful 5 drops in the game and less of the mediocre 4 drops. Personally I'd just drop the darksteel ingots for actual lands, but if you'd rather have the Ingots then I'd suggest dropping Admirers at the least for the powerful 5 drops. You could easily rework your mana with a bit more black and have access to Shadowborn Demon plus another Colossus for that slot.

All in all I find most of the late game dragons a bit underwhelming. I'm not certain if the purpose of this deck is to go with a dragon theme, but they're almost strictly inferior to their demon counterparts. If you do go ahead and a bit more black, I'd at least drop the Siege Dragons for Rune Scarred Demons or Sheoldred. The Rune Scarred Demon might not be a reusable Anger, but if you add an Anger or 2 to your deck then you can just tutor for the anger, and still get the effect next turn even if your 7 drop is killed. (And he can tutor for other things too.) Also Anger is quite good on turn 3-5 or even later, and is the only way you actually live if the opponent plays Young Pyromaster into Triplicate Spirits or something similar.

You seem to have a lot of threats randomname I would suggest replacing some of the top end for ogre battledriver + goblin rabblemaster. That lowers your curve a lot and means that you will still have threats capable of pushing damage through. Another reason to put in those cards is you can trigger haste on your genesis hydra and any creature that you summon with it giving you an explosive attack. You can also draw a card if you pull out a garruk's packleader which will net you quite a few cards with the power level of creatures you are running. I would suggest cutting 5 drags and lowering the curve to include 2 x ogre battledriver 2 x goblin rabblemaster and 1 x garruk's packleader. Some other considerations you should do is do you want to take cards like hunter's prowess which would net you a ton of draw pretty much filling your hand back up and giving you new threats to play. The last consideration I would make is Kozilek, Butcher of Truth this lets you draw 4 cards and reset your deck when he is killed. Therefore even if you have less threats in your deck, those threats will come back.

Thank you both for the suggestions.

Spencer: Yes, when I made the deck the idea was just to make a dragon theme deck. Basically, Enter the Dracomaster was my favorite deck (even if clearly not among the strongest) in Duels 2014, and I wanted to try to re-create it in 2015 as best I could. Figured it'd probably be fairly lousy competitively, but I play for fun and dragons are fun. Turned out to do much better than I'd have thought. With that said, Rune Scarred and Scheoldred are clearly more powerful cards than the seven drop dragons, but for personal preference I choose not to play the creepier creature types from the black card pool.

An earlier version of the deck did have Anger in it (though no way to tutor for it), but it seemed to be a dead card as often as it was useful, and I kind of prefer cards I can count on getting some value for - particularly since this deck has done very, very well against not-spider token decks.

I did try your suggested changes from the MVC thread. The Young Wolf really didn't do well with this deck. Due to having eight 2 drops and nine burns, the deck very rarely has trouble surviving the early turns, and Young Wolf is of course a much weaker draw later in the game than the dragons and such, and the deck has no pumps to turn a 1/1 into any kind of a threat. However, trading the Siege Dragons and Hellkite for 2x Terra Stomper and 1x Arbor Colossus seemed to work very well.

I honestly have only lost 2-3 games out of about 45 due to not being able to play lands on curve. I always mulligan down if I don't have two lands in my hand, but this deck mulligans really well. It's got quite a lot of card advantage thanks to 4x wayfinder, 4x visionary, 2x admirer, 3x Pelakka worm and 4x cultivate, and the cultivates and darksteel ingots help catch up on the curve if I have to wait a turn for my third land - while also basically assuring that if I do hit 3 lands I won't have trouble with mana for the rest of the game.

The Admirers have done pretty well for me, and are particularly valuable against control decks, as I can keep getting them back with graveyard recursion and play to keep card advantage and force Planar Cleansing or Anger with my wayfinders and Admirers (as well as do 5-15 points of total damage to their health or so) before risking my bigger cards. If anger is only exiling cards that have each drawn one or more cards for you, and have already done a bit of damage, that's a clear efficiency win. I also really like the synergy with the wayfinders. Also, I think it's funny when someone uses Edict to exile an Admirer the second or third time they have to deal with it. That said, Arbor Colossus is just a better card and I absolutely should cut an Admirer for the second Colossus.

Bindarito: The battledriver seems like a great idea. I wonder about the rabblemaster though. Powerful card, but isn't it a lot more useful for early pressure than for early defense? I tried a version of the deck that cut the (non stormbreath) dragons for 2x battle driver, 2x hunter's prowess (which is a card I absolutely love) and 1x packleader, and it did fairly well, though in the games I played I never did draw the ogre. Kozilek is a good idea also. Thanks for the suggestions!.
