The whole point of Dismember being good is the fact that you don't need a single Black source in your deck for it to be good. So, if someone down the line gets the Ball and cut Black, you don't care, because you p1p1'ed a colorless card. In fact, that's the goal in a MM15 draft: You stay as open as possible in the first 4 picks in preparation for picks 5 to 8, because those are the most important picks of the draft. You see what's open on those and pick an archetype (if nothing is open, you pick all the fixing and draft 5 colors).

Myrsmith is fine, but not amazing. You don't want to start your artifacts deck with a card that's not an artifact. It's more a reward for being in the archetype then an incentive to jump into it, like Dispatch. Incentives are things like Glint Hawk Idol or Cranial Plating. Every archetype has incentive and reward cards. The key is indentifying which is which, so you can read the right signals.

True, I was just force drafting that day for fun and to try some things out. I went on to force draft a Domain deck for no reason. I find it an interesting way to explore less used cards/force archetypes without the "standard" cards. Sometimes it helps me identify "always available" cards that work well when you have 4-ofs and particular Uncommons. Its something I've been experimenting with in draft as a way to possibly better control the random nature of Draft.

Preferred Pronoun Set: He
4 Glinthawk Idols
3 Blinding Souleater
2 Ethercaste Knight
1 Cranial Plating
1 Glassdust Hulk

Am I affinitying right yet?

Well I didn't drop a game, so apparently yes (although Round 1 my opponent had lethal on board and I managed to psych them out).

Yikes...2-1 with this deck. Final round, won the first game...in striking distance second game...dominated third game.

The deck:
Spoiler

Game 1 was against a 0-3 deck that was semi-spirit.

Game 2 was against a spirit deck. I went 2-1. Game 1 I aggrod them out. Game two the got Kavu and that Phyrexian tapper down and just looped me. Game three I beat them in a long game.

Game 3: U/W Affinity. I won game one with a turn three attacking Darkblade equipped Swiftblade. Game two was close. I was two turns from winning when they cast Lodestone Myr. They have a plating in play and enough to get me to three if I attack. I risk it and get them in range. They cast a second Plating (they had 3!!!) for the win. Third game they got a plating, two Hawks, and two Faerie Mechanists for the undisputed win...so close.

Would you all be interested in community drafting this round?

The more I play this format, this more I think it is an expert+ format. The fact that so many cards are interchangeable forces you to truly understand what you are drafting and why.
