Veilpiercer is really, REALLY tempting. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of the "must be blocked if able" boat in the prerelease, and Veilpiercer is basically that with the odd chance of an outright win if the lanes are clear.

But then, the Warcaller is in this pack. If we're gonna do archers, we can't turn down that kind of solidity for a Hail Mary play like Veilpiercer. If this were a format with proliferate, or if we had solid pirates, I might consider it otherwise, but as is. Warcaller.

well... that's not great right after moving to the archer side again... Goldkin is the best card in the pack for both decks though so that's convenient.

Blessing isnt working.

Goldkin looks good, but Raider is interesting. We have a decent amount of Pirates and a decent boat...

Blessing of the Court

it was originally spelled wrong in the plugin, but then CKY fixed it so now Rush's adaptation is no longer correct.

Silviculture doesn't seem bad. maybe help splash (prayermaker is worth it), definitely help ramp.

We have a total of three green cards so far and they are all middle size or over. That doesn't justify running many forests. That makes having two green mana for silviculture in the early game a little unrealistic. If we go green I think it might have to be as a splash.
Dovecatcher

How much better is Dovecatcher than Tarflinger? Marginally, if at all. We can still quite easily end up in green or white depending on what we open in the next pack/what we table/etc. With that in mind, there's no reason we should take a white the drop over a red one unless it's clearly better, which this isn't. I agree that Silculture needs too much to go right before it could reasonably end up in our deck. We'd basically need to move heavily into green, which I don't see happening. Let's take the playable card in the one color we know we are and wait to do into other things until a real reason shows up.

Tarflinger

if we're in RW we are absolutely not splashing green. how is that even a consideration? even setting aside tribal synergy questions all our green cards are right now, and we have zero fixing. if we do go RG then we can easily run enough forests to support Culture (we have a total of one card that ever wants more than one mountain) and it can help shore up this trainwreck by letting us splash for our best white options.

Heir is obvious. Even if you don't want to go green, picking it up doesn't cost us anything we really want.
The next pack is tougher. Elegant Dovecatcher and Skyblot Cloud are both quite playable. It all comes down to how many cards we need to fill out our mostly red deck. If we need a lot then we'll have to fill out the deck with white cards and since dovecatcher is a pretty good white card that'd be the pick. If you think we can fill out most of the deck with good red cards, then our scarce but superior green cards fit the bill and we shouldn't pick any more white cards.
dovecatcher
