BTW, Earthkin is ok. Uncommons don't have to be better than Commons, just more complex. And attacking without having to fear the crackback is good.

it's just efficient. in a Nomad deck it's really easy to make it a bear and not at all hard to make it a 3/3 for 2. it's not earth-shattering, but it's dirt-cheap for its potential.

Herd. There's enough toughness 3 in this format that Strike isn't the greatest removal piece.

You know, I was wondering about that myself. I was kinda relying on the creators opinion though and I have no idea how relevant the ship destruction is...

yeah I may be overestimating strike. it was designed to be the best common removal in the set but I could be wrong. especially since Ships wound up more specialized in Limited than originally planned.

Half tempted to pick strike anyway, someone else picked up an herd in the last pack and it seems the type of card that can be pretty good if nearly all your creatures are nomads and downright terrible if you have only 6-8 nomads, so knowing someone else wants nomads scares me.

we've already got 6 playable nomads and we're barely into pack 2.

We saw A LOT of creatures that Mast kills. I got the feeling that the whole format is composed of x/1's.

Shoreline Watchman? I could see Echoing Cackle, but we don't have bats.

Watchman

Now that's a weak pack for us. Watchman, for the lack of anything better.

Watchman's good. I'm not liking the dearth of nomads but Watchman is strong and if we run tactics it wears it really well.

Watchman has infinity power in the end. That's... really good, though yeah, lack of nomads hurts

Watchman. Cackle is the only other real choice here.

I think Howler, we want a low-ish curve and we've already got the Warleader on 5 so Deathdealer is low priority.

Howler has that beautiful combo of flash and screech and wins my vote.
Following an Avalanche with Deathdealer would've been sweet though.
