What's your favorite things to nickname your favorite pokemon? And if you feel like adding, why?

Absol = Shadow/Sombra. Named after my dog Shadow. I switched to Sombra after the evil pony in the Crystal Empire.
Gliscor = Venom. Mostly because of "Toxic Stall", but he has those crazy eyes, like Venom from Spiderman.
Eelektross = Clover. Cloverfield.
Volcarona = Sunbeam.
Yveltal = Ragnarok. Ever since I played Age of Mythology, I've called all dragons Ragnarok. Yveltal is the most deserving of it.
Weavile = Isis/Osiris. The feathers remind me of egyptian royalty.
Xerneas = Shishigami. Reminds me of the Forest Spirit in Princess Mononoke.
Groudon = Thor. No reason. It just seemed fitting.
Swampert = Alpha (This was since Gen III). He was the first pokemon I picked. It was fitting.

All of these should be self-explanatory and happened after I did an all eevee run in Gen IV.
Jolteon = Spike.
Flareon = Big Mac.
Vaporeon = Trixie.
Espeon = Twilight.
Umbreon = Luna.
Glaceon = Rarity.
Leafeon = Applejack.
Sylveon = Pinkie Pie (This honor used to be held by Pink Shellos/Gastrodon).
Eevee = Derpy.

I don't nickname my pokemon. I think they are intelligent enough to choose their own names. Unfortunately they don't speak my language so I just go with their scientific names.

Ninetales = Tenselani
- Back in third gen I started coming up with names by mixing the letters up like an anagram, and this has always been my favorite one.

Yanmega = Primeval
- He evolves backwards into what should be a pokémon from the past, so it's very fitting. I also have fun with friends who don't "get it".

I've also come up with or found a number of names so that all my lv50s (for battle tower/subway/whatever) have unique names, like:
Ignition (most recently: Infernape)
Malice (most recently: Garchomp)
Gaara (most recently: Tyranitar)
Vicious (most recently: Weavile)

in the pokedox. not in the rankings when it comes to best pokemon. That is pikachu

The best Pokémon is Rayquaza, or possibly something like Darkrai if you don't play with Sleep Clause.

This. This right here. Grass types are basically useless so when one comes along who can wreck just about anyones day they deserve the praise. Shame about the x4 Poison weakness it got lumped with later but hey dragon immunity is a decent trade off I guess.

Doesn't hurt that whimsicott is also freaking adorable.
