I am here to get everyone to run lotus lotus baneslayer angel.

^^ It's a 10 life swing but my deck can beat it, so I want everyone to try to run it.

On a different note, I'm so looking forward to everyone trying to outpace the rack.

You have the decks that race with Lifelink, the control decks that are a bit slower, the life steal decks, and other stuff like Helix Pinnacle.
I think there's plenty of variation. Then again, I suck at metagaming in alternate formats like seen by my last entry

I was going to run Orim's Chant, Black Lotus, and Raise the Alarm. I still think Mown's Daze Sarcomancy Underground Sea was the best though.

Oh yeah...I guess ties are actually hard to get. For some reason I thought two people with Lifelink creatures wouldn't attack into one another because it helps the opponent get closer to a win. Unless the creatures kill each other off...haven't looked to see how hard it is to have competitive lifelinkers on the board.

For straight up lifelink, you just want baneslayer angel. <- That's a HUGE life swing every time it attacks, and most things people will run won't be able to kill it in battle.

Otherwise, sheltered valley is going to get you there eventually and it's actually better to try to control what your opponent does.

My personal favorite deck so far is my secret tech I ain't sharing.

If Garruk, Apex Predator cost one less, he would be a hilarious win condition in this format.

Edit: Ugin, the Spirit Dragon is also technically a win condition.

I'll be very interested to see how prevalent creatures are in this format. On one hand, your choices are rather limited. On the other hand, all the traditional creature control strategies sort of suck, even more so if creatures aren't that great to begin with. So... color me curious.

I can think of uses for wurmcoil engine, baneslayer angel, and coretapper. I'm having trouble figuring out better uses for other creatures.

Because the world deserves to know.

Phyrexian Revoker was going to be a strong creature option until Vraska left the building.

That's banned in alt formats.

Hmmm, see that's why I think there will be a lot of ties...Baneslayer Angel vs. Obzedat, Ghost Council. You're both gonna end the game at 0...also...that's a really weird match-up.

You keep the opponent from winning by dealing damage or draining life, and you win by gaining life...it feels like there are gonna be a lot of interactions like the above.

Edit: So...how relevant do you think counterspells/discard will be? I've found three versions of the deck I'm thinking about using, each is more resistant to a different thing.

The slowest one is resistant to Daze and ground Based creatures
The fastest one is resistant to discard, but vulnerable to creatures
The middle one has the best inevitability, but is vulnerable to discard and counterspells.

Well...I looked and looked but I can't find a way to both donate Lich and deal the damage needed to insta-kill. Good on you if you can though!

By the way...there are lots of cool decks you can build this round.

A pretty good point, especially since I really don't care HOW well I do this round...I think I'll just play my favorite deck again.
