BKB is just better on him, honestly, since being stunned instantly cancels your channel. If they have a lot of physical damage and not many stuns, consider getting a ghost scepter instead: it's just over 1/3 the cost of agh's, it's useful when you aren't ulting, and they can't get around it by using their own BKB to block the nightmare.

I don't think bane as a whole is a very strong hero. He has the lowest int gain of any int hero, he has disables, but until level 6, his only disable is sleep, which gets cancelled by taking damage, all his abilities are pretty short ranged, and his ult is channeled, which means it's easily cancelled. Finally, he has major mana issues and no ability to clear creep waves for pushing or counterpushing towers. I think he's only good if you pair him a lina, leshrac, mirana, invoker, or slark, who can benefit from the easy setup for their abilities.

Speaking of aghs upgrades, do we all agree that Legion Commanders ult upgrade is the worst of all heroes? I think duel lasting indefinitely is actually a drawback rather than a bonus...

oh yeah phoenix is terrible too. I mean it definitely can turn a game but it is also so easy for it to **** up and make you lose and overall it doesnt seem worth the risk

It's a cool effect, it just shouldn't be the ONLY thing the agh's upgrade does.

EDIT: I just looked up Bane on the wiki. Apparently, the nightmare from agh's ult pierces spell immunity, and agh's gives significant damage and duration boosts. It's better than I gave it credit for.

yeah it's had those effects forever. it increases the mana drain too but that's kinda whatever

I know, it's great, right? You get to see a bunch of unique and powerful strategies go up against each other. Who will win, the bristleback who is virtually impossible to kill or kite and hits like a truck, the tinker who can use rearm with boots of travel and march of the machines to make pushing impossible and spam dagon on a 1 second cooldown, the omniknight who can protect his teammates from all magical or physical damage, the invoker with 10 spells up his sleeve, or the nature's prophet who just ignores your heroes and takes down your base? That is for you to decide.

I'm not complaining about any item in particular. The phrase "everyone gets to have their own little nuclear device" is basically the same as "everything is op, so nothing is". It's the idea that every dota character, given enough time and gold (btw I have a separate bone to pick with guaranteed vs unguaranteed gold), can do something obscenely broken and whoever gets there first has an advantage. It feels like everyone is some version of League's Katarina.

I still don't understand what you're complaining about, since if that wasn't the case, Dota would be a poorly designed game since some heroes are just worse than others. The goal is to have them all be at least viable, and besides not rewarding doing well seems stupid.

maybe you should try actually playing dota rather than reading about it. your understanding of the unreliable gold system is pretty far off reality
