It's not a grey ogre.

Like, a problem I have with 99% of magic players is that they grossly mischaracterize cards.

I don't know if it's other ability warrants it much more consideration over a grey ogre. If it doesn't have regrow, it is a 24, 25th card. As is, I think it is a 20th card.

We've seen some really good nomad cards. If they would wheel, I'd say take the Macadam, but instead I'll go with Bower Trap

Bower Trap is the safe pick. We might not end up running Macadam, but we'll definitely run the Trap.

What deck wouldn't run Savannah Lions? Pikers are good, and this one costs one mana. Bower Trap, on the other hand, has heavy color requirements and is really bad if you're the aggro.

Jagged Macadam

Protection from tokens is sweet, and it has a lot of yolo potential with scent of redgrass.
Not sure that it is the pick

So I can only ever play one more nomad unless I want my aura to fall off?

Can we get enough nomads to make it unblockable? What's nomads second color anyway?

Jagged.

Please notice that I don't know anything about this Set and I'm just applying general Limited knowledge here.

Macadam is not much more than Dragon Hunter, which turns out to be just a little bit better than a piker. 2/x 1-drops are overrated in Limited. Trap, on the other hand, is excellent in racing situations. Feels like an easy pick here.

Bower Trap.

Had we taken Fledging Herd, I'd be more inclined to take Jagged Macadam. It's still really good, and I think we're underselling how good it is defensively in a nomad deck. It's ability to play both offense and defense makes it rather versatile, and it can start holding down the fort rather quickly in the right deck.

Cards like Bower Trap always look better than they are. Which is to say that they are good, but tempo killing, and that they don't seamlessly fit into every deck you want. That said, it's a solid piece of removal, and that might be worth a pick here regardless.

Pitiless Execution is gonna make someone happy. It might actually be the right pick, regardless of its cost. Bomb-answers are good; 2-for-1s ever more so. It's just too costly, though.

I'll pick Bower, but Macadam might be really, really good. (I've played against it in constructed and it's annoying.)

Macadam seems solid...while it may not be removal, it's prot. ability gives a good indication that it can hold the ground if you need it too, it also has a chance to be an unblockable threat. It is Rare...Trap is Common.

Macadam

Jagged Macadam - 6.5
Bower Trap - 6

That extra .5 is because Hello World alluded to wanting Macadam, so that'll be the tiebreaker this time. I didn't announce a tiebreaker previously, but I'll set up a system and put it in the OP.

Current Pool

Pack 1, Pick 3:
Ringpeak Ambush (U)
Wilding Raft (U)
Desecrator Corporal (U)
Bogling
Torchlight Volley
Unspoken Infantry
A Thousand Gales
Uncharted Waters
Devastating Monsoon
Cauldron Supplicant
Blackwing Deathdealer
Emblazoned Forerunner
Mountain

Centaurs are one of the Nomad races, so I think this pick should be Ambush. I could see Volley but I'm not sure it's that strong in this format. Raft is another option I'd be happy with: it seems like one of the better Ships in limited because if I want it to it can trade with whatever blocks. Corporal's also strong and our picks so far are in Minion colors even though we don't have any actual Minions. Deathdealer is also an option but I think we can get one of those late and I don't think we want more than one, Nomads are a fairly low-curve tribe.

Between Deathdealer and Raft for me...I think Raft is the choice here. Ambush seems like it could be interesting though.

Wilding Raft

I agree. Take the raft over the deathdealer.

I think it's between the raft, the pump spell, or the bounce spell, but Raft is the pick I feel.

for the record, Torchlight Volley is supposed to cost less when it's on. CKY has been made aware of this, but draft accordingly.
