If you go to the comment section of that video, you'll see that Hakeem has agreed to play a few matches against you Barney while totally blitzed. I figure it's Hakeem's way of saying that's the only way to make you a challenge!!


All kidding aside, I would bust out the popcorn to watch a handful of those videos. I'm not sure what your stance is on wobbly pops Barney but I think if you both were blotto'd, that would make for some fantastic entertainment (somehow Barney and Hakeem would have to be on some sort of TS/Vent - actually doesn't Xbox have some sort of in game voip?)

Hey guys! I made a Naya midrange deck, with a little twist by adding Obelisk of Alara and Warstorm Surge, maybe this isn't the most effcient way to make a naya midrange deck but it's been a lot of fun to play and actually both the obelisk and surge work remarkably well.
All 5 colours for the obelisk are obtained with the trilands.
Hope you guys like it and as always any feedback is greatly appreciated

I don't think you want two Obelisks, I would cut one for the fourth Cultivate; it's really important in this archetype. Then I would try to sneak in the second Genesis Hydra because the interaction with Warstorm Surge is amazing and it helps you find it. I would cut the two Rabblemasters then add the second Hydra plus another card of your choosing. Banefire?

Hey Hakeem thanks for the feedback. You're right, 4 cultivates is a must. I'll take out the Rablemasters and put in the extra cultivate plus the Genesis Hydra, also I'll play around with the Obelisk and Banfire and report back.

Troklo, have you seen hakeems naya? it's VERY similar. Deff recommend checking it out. (Though I can't help to feel it was more consistent as the green/red fattledriver deck)

The original Fattledriver was fine, but Wild Nacatl and Woolly Thoctar are strong draws to white. Brimaz and Baneslayer are just gravy.

I just saw he played it on his channel but I think his version is better than mine, mine is more of a gimmick deck with the Surge and the Obelisk.

BTW Hakeem I changed the Rablemasters and an Obelisk for a 2nd hydra, a 4th cultivate and a banfire, runs better now. Thanks again for the feedback

That's why I pointed it out. Because yours was almost the same exact thing with MINOR differences.

Now that you mentioned it I went back and actually looked in detail to Hakeem's deck list and yeah it is very similar. meh here is me thinking that I was actually clever
I guess there isn't much to choose once you want to make a deck with woolly thoctar in it and just abuse the best cards in those colours.

Warstomr Surgue is weird. Sometimes it triggers before battledriver and other times after Anybody know what causes this?

The game has to organize the stack so it's based on when it's played.

If you play Battledriver to the board first, then it's effect will be counted with Warstorm. If Warstorm is already down and you play Battledriver after, then it doesn't trigger right (unless you went - Warstorm, Battledriver, Warstorm - then the 2nd Warstorm will trigger correctly but not the first one).

It's a pain but remembering when cards should be sequenced is something to consider when playing DotP (often if you're unsure it's generally on the board from left to right - not counting placement for enchants/artifacts). It comes down to experience and repetition (which is terribad) remembering orders of operation.

Maybe this will be something addressed with Origins.....
