I'll be as matter of fact as I can.

I was a long time lurker and now a member going on two years on the WOTC forum. I started as a new player in 2010 when a good friend of mine noticed my growing depression (I had lost the use of my right arm due to a nerve injury and was out of work with a wife and two kids) and recommended DOTP 2009 because I could play it with one hand.
Since those days the game helped rebuild my memory function back to full (pain meds) and the community helped bring me out of my funk whether they know that or not.
That in a nutshell is why I'm protective of the community. A community that has been hosed by a new, nearly non-functional forum space; No communication about ongoing technical issues and seemingly random moderation.
We need a new space and this is the place!

I would have to create 14 new threads in Constructed just to bring the decks available up to speed with decklist and discussions with 6 more coming down the pike. I appreciate the offer I was given to post them in constructed, but I feel rude posting all of those. It also makes navigation between the deck threads more difficult. With a dedicated thread in a sub-forum I could list a master thread sticky that points to the individual deck threads.

2013 is still a viable and well loved product that still sees gameplay. Mjack so kindly listed all 21 of the deck lists in one thread and I would like to be able to split them into separate threads.

I am tying to contact MisterP to see if his tool can be altered to work here.
To all not in the know, it's a deck building tool most of us offered to pay money for though he wouldn't take it.

Check it out.
You can create your deck, it would generate a copyable code that could be posted directly to the forum for an awesome looking decklist that was very friendly to new player perusing more experienced players cuts.

If we had our own subforum I know many more people than the handful that migrated in the past few days would come over.
If MisterP's tool worked, I think I can guarantee the rest would come.

I leave it to the ultimate wisdom of the Administration.
I will spread the word to post here to give voice to our plight.
Please let me lead them out of Egypt without having to walk the desert for 40 years.

Edit: Let me add that this both an introductory game to M,TG and a way for old hats who can't be bothered or be able to sink money into going to the shop to play or subscribe to MTGO.
It is in that a separate entity that at once grows, and sustains the Magic community.
It's a more important little game than some think and has a rabid playerbase along 5 platforms.

I'm one of the people who will post, if DotP gets a subforum.
Too many things around the new WotC site bother me...

The number of people posting on the threads will triple or quadruple if it gets its own subforum. Until then... its only going to be 4 or 5 people?

Basically any community trying to get started here is dying and probably going to die completely if no sub forum. I give it a week before people decide to just stay with the wotc forums.

@devilwuster

If we don't have a sub forum by November 6th, the two new decks will come out and the old site will get most of the conversation.

The biggest problem right now for us is that people don't want to discard the old threads where there are dozens of pages of discussion, to post on new threads. Because htey feel they have hashed most of it out. New decks are the biggest chance to get people to post in a new thread, especially on the first day of their use.

This is why I posted that. The 6th is a soft but very real deadline of sorts.

@stormageddon sounds great and thank you for listening. How do we move threads there?

I can make another thread if it is necessary, but I want to say that the staff has decided that the creation of a DotP forum here was necessary seeing how there were enough topics to warrant it and that the traffic differed enough from the other portions of the MTG forums.

If there are any threads I missed moving, please send them to me and I can get them moved into the appropriate place.

In addition to this, if there are any threads that you want stickied, edited, etc., please let me know so I can do that for you.

Thank you

I took a look. That tool is pretty awesome.

The copyable decklist code it generates will not work here as-is, and unfortunately there's not a whole lot we can do about that on our end: phpBB categorically does not allow HTML (i.e., what makes the decklists look nice) in posts. That said, I'm totally willing to work with MisterP to set up a new output format that will work here. I think that recreating the pretty table format is definitely doable without a ton of work on his part, and the plain-text version is literally one change from working perfectly*. So, if you're able to get in contact with him, send him my way and we'll see if we can work something out.

* The change: switch the <br> tags to newlines, since newlines here don't turn into <p> tags.

I would say we should just have this thread deleted.

Why should this thread be deleted? It'll just slide down the page on its own and become a non-topic soon enough.

Hello Welder, I am the creator of that deck planner. I'll make a separate thread about possibilities for getting the formatted deck lists to work here, but first I have a question. Are there any programmers among the people behind this site? The requests and suggestions I make would be different if there is someone there who can write some JavaScript or PHP code on the server side. If there aren't programmers, then I'll suggest things that can be done with phpBB's custom tag templates only.

Second question: are you using any mods that allow custom tags to be nested? I don't know phpBB at all, but after a bit of web research it seems that the base distribution doesn't do that. Without nestable custom tags, I don't know if I can get anything to work.

Thanks.

Excellent, good to see you here.

Yes, there are. I handle most of the programing work here.

Yes again. (This is why [spoiler] tags can be nested.)

Admittedly, it is a little janky. The primary limitation is that at most 255 instances of each tag for which nesting is supported can be used per post.
