Looking at the spoiler, it seems like Green doesn't really know what it wants. Throwing in some land love—for example, Landcycling —could help give it more of an identity. Are people on board with this idea?

I still hate typecycling. If you want a land faction, it's fine, though—there's already a few isolated cards, I think, and they could use a home.

I just think Green is too spread out atm. It doesn't seem to know what it wants. TP's been talking about allies. That could be a Thing. (The rationale being that it shoots home the ETB creatures deck.)

I don't think adding more themes is a good way to unspread a color. :V

I would argue Allies are just a purer expression of an already present theme.

In regards to the topic at hand, I think a land faction would be a bad idea. A few land themed cards would be nice, but you have to go waaaay oput of your way to make lands a focus of an MTG set. Most blocks have a few artifacts/instants/creatures matter elements, but outside of Zendikar "lands matter" just doesn't exist.

*"To YMTC it up" means to design cards that have value mostly from a design perspective. i.e. you would put them in a case under glass in your living room and visitors could remark upon the wonderful design principles, with nobody ever worring if the cards are annoying/pointless/confusing in actual play

OT, but I think Desert Shimmer should have its cost reduced to , and that Gale of Denial should become:

Spellsnuff
Instant
Counter target spell unless its controller discards an instant or sorcery card.
"One way or another, spell will have its feast."
Seron, head transmuter

I don't think the spell deck should have a card focused on countering the spell deck.
