Very, very interesting.
For you, Fel, and with this situation, I'll comply for now.

Unvote:

If I take MoD/Fel off my list, then I'm thinking Lilan, Confused and either Freddeh or PP.

I'm not sure I'm willing to take MoD/Fel off the list, but for now...

Oh for the love of... Welcome Fel. Shame you turned up at the 11th hour. You've got a lot of work ahead of you to make me think MoD wasn't scum. Hope you can act fast.

My current scum team is MoD/Fel, Confused and Lilan for the reasons I stated previous. I know it's not fair Fel but that's what happens when there is a replacement this late in the game.

I wouldn't call pointing a finger to me and yell "DIRTY SCUM!" unfair, but I would definitely call it premature. Let me ask you a question: What have I done that makes you think I'm scum?

Freddeh wrote:
Rubik or PP because they're at odds with each other a bit too much to be on the same scum team, and while I've had a fairly towny sense from PP, Rubik makes either interesting points, or is pushing PP lynch too hard. I'm not entirely sure which. Once Rubik started playing though, he has felt more towny.

See, I gave some credit to this paragraph the first time I read, but I thought about it a little and there are some things that I'm not quite grasping here. First is the part where you, Freddeh, states that Rubik and PP are too much at odds with each other, and then follows that up saying that Rubik might be pushing a PP lynch too hard. Yet, I don't see that at all. PP's behavior has been pretty much defensive when confronted by Rubik. That's hardly "being at odds". Being at odds is like KoD and Numbers spamming multiple pages in an argumentative loop. I've counted like 3 post from each of them (Rubik/PP) where they interact with each other. Rubik is not even voting for PP. The way I see it, Freddeh, you're trying to paint something here, and I'm not sure why.

Second, I want to get Rubik's case, and, to some extent, Lilan's (which is actually voting) against PP straight. I've got 2 points: first is PP not contributing to the game, something that more than a half of the players in this game can be accused of. Second is a comment that PP made in another game that he would NK active players if he were Mafia, which seems to be Mafia's strategy in this game. I think this is terrible because A) Scumteam is most likely not composed of a single player and B) It's a common Mafia strategy (and has been working pretty well in our metagame). So, the way I see it, the case against PP is based on bad arguments, so I'll make a question here to make sure I'm not missing anything. Rubik and Lilan, why dou you think PP is scum?

Heh, replacement on lylo.

My guess is freddeh/garren, rubik/Lilan/Pp.

Hmm, yea, I am leaving ambar and MoD/fel in the town bracket.

@Freddeh: Might explaining why you are limiting your choice pool in detail?

@Garren, Neighbor chat pls.

Also, have you guys ever considered that Freddeh and Garren are mafia faking neighbors? I know my alignment and role, I don't know theirs.

I concede that they could both be scum just going off of each other, or both town, but process of elimination makes the latter less likely. And KoD vs Numbers is more commonly known as a town blowup...at odds is an extremely nice way to put it ;). Rubik not voting PP is more likely due to lack of wanting to put someone in hammer range (or at least making it appear that way) than him not wanting to vote PP.

Your second part is mostly what I meant by Rubik pushing it too hard. I don't mean in volume of posts, but in what he's pushing. Both of your points are, I agree, pretty awful (and I think I've already said as such earlier), so you'll hear no argument from me there, and its the other reason that I've had a town-y sense from him.

The main interesting point that I was referring to from Rubik is this though:
This most recent post reads like town to me, but that's part of what makes me so suspicious. All you do is lurk until someone throws suspicion your way, then make a post that sounds townish and then go back to not seriously scum-hunting. That doesn't fly with me.
That smacks of what PP is doing for the most part, and is what made me question my town-sense of PP to begin with. That said, I've had an eye on Rubik all game, which is why I'm not completely sure which is scum and which is town anymore. I'd still lean slightly towards Rubik, but I'd like to see PP actually do something.

@Confused: Define what you mean, because you did the same thing if I'm reading your post correctly, with no actual explanation yourself.

Also, I know this is WIFOM as heck, but the whole mafia faking neighbors thing is asinine.

It is a possibility. Or maybe you can post the neighbor chat for Garren instead?

I put Ambar as town for reasons explained before. MoD/Fel, for replacing and time-extension and stuff.

Freddeh wrote:
Can I just assume that all 3 scum are within lilan, rubik, confused, and MoD, and we just start lynching from there?

Because I have literally zero reason to believe otherwise, and lynching ambar now is far too dangerous even if he is potentially scum. He needed to die yesterday, but now I have to assume hes scum, at least until the next two are dead.

And I refer to this, "literally zero reason". Mind touching on that?

Yeah - I don't want to give Fel a free pass, but, if MoD was scum, and he quit at this point, and got the extension - I just can't see the logic there, knowing that the scum team was about to win.

Jack and all. You have in fact done nothing. But the guy you're taking over from set off my scum radar every other post. So my options are either scrap about two weeks worth of thought process or be unfair to the new guy. This isn't anything against you it's just MoD picked really, really freaking stupid time to drop out and you're the unfortunate guy who gets to try and crawl out of the hole he dug.

What I'm saying is I *hate* replacements. Especially this late in the game.

Mods don't interefere in the game like that. It's important to have consistent replacement tactics.

to be perfectly clear, MoD's reasons for leaving were personal and real-life related and should not be interpreted through a strategic lens of any sort.

I will be posting a log of relevant posts made by players that are still alive alongside posts within the context of those votes from players that are still alive. Here is my take on day one.

If you have the time I would suggest looking through the original posts yourself so that you don't need to worry about any bias from me effecting your judgement. This is largely for my own personal use, but I think I might as well share it to remind the people who are too busy/lazy to look back at what happened day 1.

I think the most likely setup is that we have 1 mafia neighbor (1/3) and 2 mafia non-neighbors (2/5). I think the odds of all three players or no players being in the neighbor networks is low enough that we can discount those possibilities altogether for the time being. I also think it's unlikely there are two sets of neighbors with 1 scum and 1 town. I think there is a very small chance of Freddeh and Garren both being scum and pretending to be neighbors, but I think that sort of bluff would be uncharacteristic for Freddeh (I can't speak for Garren) so I will largely discount that possibility as well.

Pool 1: (3 Players, likely 1 scum)
a. Confused
b. Freddeh
b. Garren

Pool 2: (5 Players, likely 2 scum)
Ambar
Lilan
Rubik
MoD
PP

From the perspective of any other towns in pool 2, consider that 50% of the remaining pool is likely scum (2) and the other 50% is likely town (2). From the perspective of any towns in pool 1, consider that 50% of the remaining pool is likely scum (1) and the other 50% is likely town (1).

Example: I am 100% sure I am town. That leaves 2 scum and 2 town in pool 2 from my perspective. That means 50% of the remaining players in pool 2 are scum. If I were to speculate on pool 1, I would have closer to a 33% chance of hitting scum.

In terms of Pool 2, I'm pretty confident in Ambar being town and relatively confident that Lilan is town. Honestly, MoD hasn't seemed especially scummy to me this game, but I think it's more likely that he's scum than the other two that I listed. PP I have a really strong suspicion of, but I'm really worried that I might be tunneling too hard like I did with HW.

As for Pool 1, I'm really not sure who is and isn't scum. All three of the players haven't really made a strong impact on me, but I'm pretty sure there aren't two scum there. From their perspective, they have a roughly 40% chance of hitting scum from our pool.

I will welcome any criticism or objections to looking at the game through this framework, but I personally think this is the most proactive way to view our current game state.

Ok, that was more frustration-generated hyperbole than actually "literally zero reason", as you can see I've already loosened that slightly and inserted PP and Garren into the mix as well as dropped MoD.

Rubik - can you explain why you think Lilan is town? I feel like she's not been contributing or scum hunting, and has done a few suspicious things as well, including the early day, 3rd vote on me without any reasons.
As I said before, based on the vote patterns, I think it's very likely that at least one of Lilan and Freddeh is scum, and, while I don't trust either of them, Freddeh at least appears to have been scumhunting a bit.

@Fel: My Case on PP is two points:

1) The kill pattern falls in line with what he'd pursue if he was mafia
2) He hasn't been contributing even though he said he would earlier in the game.

Him saying he would contribute and not doing so is what gets me the most.

@Rubik: I'm not comfortable with you gaming the mod that much on your neighbours math. Why do you think [(town/town),(town/town)] or [(town/scum),(town/scum)] are less likely than [(town/town),(town/scum)]?

I would also advise everybody to not give Fel a blank slate in terms of reads. Hold him accountable to anything MoD said or did.
