lol, ok...how does 3CM handle Falling Star. Also, I totally want someone to explain Divine Intervention to me...was Legends the first un set?

I mean, tournaments can handle games ending in draws, sometimes you cast Flame Rift when both players are at 3 life. It just isn't really a particularly interesting outcome.

I think I found my favorite deck, it involves The Rack to beat Time Walk decks.

The Rack in any deck with a threat beats time walk. You could do Black Lotus + The Rack + some 2 mana red sorcery that deals damage and win a lot of races actually. 3 damage on each player's turn, win on your 4th turn lol.

Exactly, I was saying that the sweet anti-Time Walk tech is The Rack, because it damages them on their turn, and presumably they can't afford a more efficient damage source. The third ingredient is my secret spice.

Well, none of these work:

legacypowerisworsethanmayor.dec = Monastery Mentor, Black Lotus, Gitaxian Probe
turnonebridgetongs.dec = Leyline of Lightning, Plains, Empty City Ruse
andthenthereweretourists.dec = Myth Realized, Plains, Empty City Ruse

I just submitted a fun deck thats probably gonna score real low again using a card I've been trying to work in for a while. I was one mana from the deck I actually wanted :(

i dont really consider time walk decks to be very good in this format but maybe i'm missing something. there are just way too many options for super powerful disruption

i didnt know about empty city ruse, seems fun but not really that good.

Thing about timewalk.dec is that it 6-0s anything not running turn one counters or something that damages the opponent on their own turn (rack) since the decks opponents never get another turn.

I could easily see it winning a meta not full of dazes, thalias, racks, or 1+ power fliers (which will 2/2 it at least).

I feel like you guys are building Time Walk decks wrong.

Also, what super powerful disruption is available in this round that isn't normally available?

The rules force it to be wrong. You cannot submit a deck that is capable of winning before your opponent has had a complete turn. So you can't submit Lotus/Walk/Threat or Manland/MoxSaph/Walk, because that deck could win before the opponent got a turn. You need to put in some form of delaying mechanism because if your deck can cast T1 Walk it is invalid. And if your Time Walk deck can't cast T1 Walk, it loses to any deck that can exploit the fact that you're counting on being able to cast something on T2 (be it via hand disruption, land destruction, countermagic, or simply establishing its own countermeasure like The Rack).

Nothing super powerful, but just like in most rounds decks that count on casting their winning spell on T2 lose to a lot of decks designed to hose decks that don't play out their entire hand on T1.

decks to beat

edit: also literally any discard
I'm a little hesitant to say it given my judgment on Rack in Vanilla round 1 but...there are enough lifegain options this round that pox variants seem a weak choice.

Discard, on the other hand, seems inordinately powerful this round (depending on how many people actually play the alt game).

Edit: I should clarify that targeted discard is what I think is strong. Rando discard 3/3s at best and loses to a lot.

You are still imagining a bad Timewalk deck.

I havent thought about extra turn decks really, or competitive decks...I'm finding it hard to be motivated to do something powerful this round. Seems like the best options are "take current powerhouse, swap third card for slightly more powerful sorcery". My current submission is "clever" in the laziest way and far weaker than many possible submissions.

Meh, I turned in a crappy deck that I thought looked fun. I know I'm probably coming in last place, but here's hoping I can win at least one game.

Dangit Dr_D...you've said it enough that now I want to figure it out. Seemed like the originally posted deck was pretty solid.

Edit: Ok...I can only think of a few...but my favorite one abuses the "can't win before an opponent has had a full turn" angle more than being a better wincon.

Soooo...treat this next round as Epic Confrontation Redux? :P All the top decks are still viable.

hardly. Rush's deck, for example, can't even win the game.
The Reset meta honestly looks pretty warped to me.

Ah yes, Worldspine is a death trigger, not a "leaves the battlefield" trigger. We can rebuild it, we can make it stronger.
