I haven't tried the event missions yet. Just been poking at the offline elder dragons now ever since reaching HR7 to prepare for the online versions. Also fought my first Rajang. That one was interesting.

Fatalis at Caravan 10 took a while, but attacks were easily dodged except for the tail swipe. But that didn't do much damage.
Kushala Daora was pretty easy. I thought it would be harder without the cannons and stuff, but it's almost just as easy to fight on the ground.
Akantor was hard, but more a war of attrition.
But Teostra, Teostra...that one is my nemesis. And the worst part is that I need Teostra's gem for the Ice/blast dual blades -.-

I want to try the Akantor now that I've got better def. Rajang is what wiped us in the Three Virtues quest. We fought though the Zinogre ok, Kirin was a b. The thing was moving so fast, I would swing at it & it would disappear. When I refocused the cam, it would be on the other side of the arena. Ran me down to 1 Mega Pot, but it didn't matter. The Rajang came in, one shotted two of us & blew the quest.

I've got that damn rusted greatsword begging for Kushala parts.

Hit a wall with hr7. The Shag Mag urgent for hr6 was a beast. Went through it four times before beating once for someone else. Another four or five to get me to 7. Hr7 stuff is just ridiculous. Gets worse as I get more tired. I think I need to back up & work some Zinogre, Azure Rath, & stuff. Maybe get back to the Caravan for a bit.

Hr7 is stupid. Helped to beat someone elses Dalamadur urgent, so now I know it's just a matter of dishing out damage while avoiding death meteors. Then it just collapses, because even the damn snake thing is tired of playing. FINALLY beat Akantor after two carts. Still can't beat Teostra. Hell, I've never even seen a Kushala. I really just want out of 7, but I'm not looking forward to doing that damn Dalamadur again.

My thoughts exactly.

Though it doesn't help that I'm addicted to Pokemon Rumble World as well right now <_<

Edit
So I tried some HR7 stuff just now.
Dah'ren Mohran was easy.

I found a room where they were farming Daora and as a fresh HR7 guy, I had the quest of course.
So we went in, and in 6 minutes kicked its butt. With 2 Insect Glaive guys, a gunner and me as DS-user.

Then I searched for an Akantor room. But every time I ended up with randoms who kept dying to his roar. It was awful.
After a room where my 3 teammates died within 3 minutes of the fight, I thought 'I could do him offline. I bet I can do the online version as well if I'm patient'. And sure enough, it took me 26 minutes but I beat Akantor without carting once.

Unfortunately, I didn't find a Teostra room yet. So will do that one tomorrow.

Zamitros at G Rank is pretty dang annoying. Adds a new move that combines his spin attack with the ice beam.

Online is a real hit or miss. You can find a group that can down a Dalamandur in 20 minutes, or a group where 3 people all get 1 shot by it.

Maintenance kicked in just as I was starting an Ukanlos fight with 3 others (we were helping each other) to get myself in G-rank.
I just went through with it for the heck of it, thinking that if I would get 2 carts, I'd end via subquest (mounting it was no problem).
Imagine my surprise when the thing rolls over and dies after 38 minutes.

So I'm finally in G1 and just killed enough Desert Seltas and Tetsus to upgrade my water DS.

So, in complete contrast to getting my ass handed to me online, I decided to do a bit of story mode catch up. I'd been putting off the Cathar hunts, especially Shag Mag, since those were so nasty online. They were a walk in the park. I'm so horribly overequipped.

Yeah, Caravan 6 is still Low Rank.

I guess I should start on the online quests for G-rank soon. The offline versions were ok so far so let's see how it goes online.

Sooooo close. Hooked up with a group & plowed through Teostra & Kushala. Got the urgent & we triple carted. In the meantime, back to Caravan to rack up some more missions. Kinda bugs me that you need to push so far in Caravan to cut it in G Rank.

Caravan monsters have about 50% of the hp online ones do, and deal less damage. Guild quests are balanced for 4 players, caravan for 1. But that doesn't mean you can't solo the Guild Quests, even G-Rank, if you play your cards right. But just wait until you get the Crimson Fatalis urgent from the Caravan. I had a rare 8 hammer with his elemental weakness, and still only finished it with 5 minutes left.

I don't really know if you need to do caravans to make it in G-rank. Of course, I got to Caravan G before I was HR 6, because I promised my friends we would all rank up together. It is more about grinding the gear you need. Desert Seltas are stupidly easy with a decent pair of ice element dual blades. Just turn on Demon mode and combo slash them. Lets you get some G-Rank armor without too much work, even the online mode one.

Seeing as you already killed Dalamandur, my advice of "get a greatsword and don't get 1-shot by the giant laser" seems a little silly. That guy is one of the easiest monsters in the game imo, just because he only has 2 attacks that matter, and both are incredibly televised.

Actually going to play with my friends today, which will probably consist of killing near infinite Shoo-goo Magoogoo (What I call Shaguru Magala, because I couldn't be bothered to remember his name) for Phosgems and the level 94 guild quest Ruby Basarios I have, until our white sharpness weapons start bouncing on his underside.

By the way, I really, really, REALLY hate Basarios.

I did 26 minutes about the Crimson Fatalis with my Dual Swords on the first try. I had more problems with Teostra. But that's because of that darn Blast status and I was too aggressive.

The Basarios hate is real here too. Again, mostly because of my solo-DS status <_<

What I meant was the Wystones. I've read that they're kinda key for G Rank & you need to hit at least Caravan 9 for the Stig Zinogre.

I finally hit a group of 7s for a successful Dalamadur, so now I'm hr59 & the Caravan 7 Mono Urgent is on my plate. Need to down that Ukanlos so I officially hit G.

Ah yes, the Wystones. Yeah, they're kinda crucial. Especially when going up against the Apex monsters later.

So I'm doing the Elder Hall Desert Seltas quest.
Use Ice DS. No problems. Easy pickings.
>Rajang appears.
O crap, guess I need to be a bit more careful of my back.
>He goes Apex
NOPENOPENOPENOPE

Now it took me a while 10 minutes because I had to dodge that Rajang too (as in, paintball it and stay out of his area).

Monoblos is such a tease. Such a buildup. I went in packing a bunch of heal. I went through about 4 pots & a whetstone. Cut the tail, tased it 3 or so times, then went for a shock trap.

In other news, I made G1. Hosted the Uk urgent, but only one dude came. I asked if he wanted to wait & he said "I got this." Carted once, seconds before the thing drops.

Also, lmao at "His Immenseness" actually being a giant old dude.

Yeah, I'd forgotten about that. I soloed it, after a friend of mine had done it. He told me about the Rajang, but I didn't see it when I did it. So I didn't think about it until it showed up while I was killing the Seltas with my friends, and the Rajang showed up and one-shot myself and my friend right when it showed up. The Seltas and the Rajang then spent about 5 minutes in the same room, while we all waited outside. Another friend then decided to "nominate" me to check for the rajang, and used his hammer to spike me into the zone.

I died.

Finally scored a ruby for Rath Soul, so I'm playing with 4/5ths of that & Tetsu S greaves. Not really sure what to wear around G. I've read that up to G2, if your def can cut it, sticking with HR armor is viable. I've been switching around a few configurations of Naj S, a Zin U, & the Rath Soul.
I started to put together Tetsu Z, but I don't think it's worth the effort of finishing. G Rank Naj & Zin are on my list.

Made Caravan 9, but I'm putting things off again. I hate Black Grav. If I wanted to fight a Death Star, I'd load up an X-Wing, not go melee.

Black Grav was my first real wall as well. Now I have the Desert Seltas DS, he's pretty easy because I trip him soooo often with them. Rath Soul's fire res also helped <_<
I still have to farm him because even though I break his face, he just won't drop the B. Gravios Scalp I need to trade in for Lagiacrus stuff.

Currently working on upgrading all my weapons up until the point of where I can't do it with G1 quests.
I just need a Daora gem and the Gravios Scalp. I finished farming Teostra (getting HG Earplugs and Mounting Master really helped with him). Even got 4 spare Teostra gems.

And I'm still sporting Rath Soul. It's fine in G1 at least.

It's not even a wall for me, just annoying. Once you hit the third mount or so, bust the back/chest, it softens up. It's the superlaser that I hate. It shoots through blocks and terrain & Black Grav has the sweep. I had it on the run, set a trap as it came limping towards me & it turned straight around & fled the zone, making me have to chase it down & beat it to death.

It's like they designed the quest chain for the first Wystone just to piss me off. Black Grav, Azure Rath, Brute Tigrex, & Stig Zinogres are among my least fav things in the game.

I love Stig Zinogres. I prefer them over the regular ones.

Done farming the HR Elder Dragons for now. Daora was kind of irritating because he wouldn't drop a gem, but after the 12th one I finally carved one and got one in the rewards. So could upgrade my poison DS as well to the Chameleos Blades.
Only the HR7 Advanced Mohran quest to get more trade items at the Wycoon and after that it's off to G-quests all the time.
