I don't know that I have anywhere near the deep knowledge of magic cards to do this... but I was listening to limited resources and Marshall was talking about their Modern Rotisserie Draft.

In a nut shell - 8 players, you can pick any card in modern format. I guess there are 42 rounds (14x3 like a regular draft), and there are no duplicates (although I guess you could play a variant where you could take one of the 7 regular printings of bolt or something).

Here is his blog post on the subject:
http://lrcast.com/modern-rotisserie-draft/

OK so let's get 8:

1. Shazzeh
2. Felbastisa
3. ajunior148
4. zenbitz
5. Cato
6. Dr_Demento
7. thatmarkguy
8. masterofdoom

I will set up a google spreadsheet and send out a randomized pick order. We will "snake" the picks so 1st .. 8th+9th back to 16th/17th and so on.

THE SHEET: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing
(currently masterofdoom on the wheel 4/26 ca. 6:45 pm PDT)

my friends are doing this, and are then going to proxy the decks. it's pretty all over the place for some, and very clearly archetypes for others. seems fun though.

Sure.

I do wonder what existing modern archetypes actually work in Singleton Modern, though. As mentioned in that article, ONE Splinter Twin doesn't a deck make.

Splinter Twin, Kiki-Jiki, Zealous Conscripts, Pestermite, Exarch. Then you can toss in tutors if you like.

We should do it and play on Cockatrice.

Bun tried something like this shortly after NGA was created, but with vintage instead of modern. It didn't work out, but I'm willing to give it another shot. I'm in.

I'll join. First pick Glimpse the Unthinkable, plant a flag.

I did intend my 'Sure' to be a statement of interest in participation. :)

Also IMO first pick is PtE. I mean, unless I don't get p1. In that case it is...um...ornithopter no that's playable in affinity wait...Sagu Archer. Yes. Definitely Sagu Archer.

PICK ORDER:

masterofdoom
zenbitz
Cato
thatmarkguy
felbatista
Shazzeh
dr_demento
ajunior148 (picks 8 & 9)

then back up the chain until masterofdoom gets pick 16/17. I will have the googledoc up later today.

I have literally never played a match of competitive Modern, so I expect to mess this up pretty badly.

I'm unconvinced the decks from singleton modern would even bear much resemblance to the decks of 4-of-each-card modern.

(I've also never played competitive modern)

Sure but I don't even know the best 350 cards in modern!
