If you guys have not seen it yet, Monk made a WW build a while back and it was REALLY solid! You can check it out here: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8231&start=20#p261558

I cannot understand why you play two copies of Elixir of Immortality in all of your decks. Every single one. Why? What does it do? Make me understand.

Healing and giving back the permanents you sacced and might not be able to get back?
It's also a FFA deck so stuff like Planar Cleansing is like 3 times more common so there is that too because this deck usually makes people cast it. But feel free to tweak it for yourself into a 1vs1 mold.

Also, it's usually three copies of elixir :teach::D Thought I could drop one since I have some cards that come back from graveyard.

? Did I play against you without knowing? In which case I am sorry... Don't know what good that sorry does coming from a rather sadistic person but... sorry...

Jokes aside there is indeed a growing number of Jund decks in FFA. Don't know about 1vs1 since I'm still swarmed with Izzet and Selesnya there when I play it once in a blue moon.

Empo, i have a hypothetical question for you: Lets say you have both Bloodghast on your grave yard. You also have all your Elixir of Immortality on the board ready to use and your opponent decides to drop a Planar Cleansing because.... reasons.... What do you do?

Usually 4FFA isn't cutthrought in the way 1vs1 is so getting Bloodghast out ASAP isn't that much of a thing around here. For the rest it really depends on the cards in my hand that determines my choice. If I have 1 or 2 draw cards/a demon in my hand and the mana to cast it, I will shuffle. If not, I'll leave elixir alone to die to planar.

i think you would want to use treasured find over elixiers here. they are way more bloodghast friendly and you do not have to rely on rng to get a specific card back..

I also don't know why the decks that would want it would ever play more than one copy. The card doesn't do anything. I dunno. :)

Like I wrote: feel free to adjust the deck to your flavor. It's posted as a 4FFA deck where Elixir has saved my hide countless times and can't do without anymore. However, most of you play 1vs1 where Elixir has far less value obviously so I can understand why people wonder why it is in every single one of my decks.

My jund surge deck has evolved.

[manapie 90 -w -u b r g][/manapie]

3

This deck absolutely MURDERS aggro strategies. Just an example from a recent game: my opponent was izzet, and set up a turn 2 kiln fiend turn 3 guttersnipe. I was on the play and went turn 3 sprouting thrinax, turn 4 blasting station, attack with thrinax and sac it and all of its tokens to wipe my opponent's board.
In another game tonight my opponent played a white weenie deck and cast two triplicate spirits plus two of the white "lords" that give +1/+1, plus numerous other creatures. Mycoloth plus blasting station whittled his board down to nothing in a few turns.

This deck has more control tools and more card advantage than typical combo decks IMO. I have been having great success with it, but I am open to feedback. It does fare somewhat poorly without blasting station, unfortunately. I do not run anger because I don't think it is necessary on steam, but I think blasting station decks are the best anti-aggro currently available in the meta, and if you wanted to you could probably cut masked admirers for anger.

i assume brain maggot is there for the early game disruption?

Thunder is amazing and I run it in a lot of decks. But there are a few reasons I don't run it here: I can't do much with its instant speed since this deck usually taps its mana, and I already run 3 ground assault and 3 act of treason for the same purpose. Blasting station also fills the removal role. If I ran any more removal, I wouldn't have creatures to sac to blasting station :)

Brain maggot just finds his way into any deck that has black and isn't hyper aggressive. Its an amazing card for seeing your opponent's hand and hitting their weak spot. Tidehollow Sculler is a card that does basically the same thing and sees play in eternal formats.

I'd rather have the removal with a lategame burn finish. If you just want to play Thrinax here I'm sure he'd be fine, but alongside Anger in a lategame deck I'm not so sure he is what you'd like to be drawing into.

I think Hakeem made the right choice. Thrinax is an exceptionally powerful card - under limited circumstances. I posted my own list above that runs blasting station and mycoloth, and Thrinax is an all star there.

But without such support it is mostly just a stall card. A 3/3 for 3 is ok, but Hakeem's deck wants to be ramping up to really big plays. I think as a stall card it would be pretty solid in a format where decks have access to lots of cheap removal, but in this format aggro decks don't.
