Thanks for your hard work mjack. When we get a sub-forum up and running we add this there. It might be best to keep it as a one thread discussion since it is last years game.
Still, very nice to have it.

Cheers!

As long as people start discussing.....

Man it took me typing this up to realize how much I had forgotten was in last year's game.

Biomantic Mastery when did you show up for the party?

The original reason I made this one big thread is that people don't really have an interest in discussing the older games at all. At least not enough to sustain a separate 21 threads.

That being said.... I am not sure this one will even get enough posts to warrant it.

It might not get any views but I'm sure there's others like me who when they get bored at work during a break they look for new ideas on how to play a deck

cost
3x Kraken Hatchling
3x Sleight of Hand

1x Spiketail Hatchling
2x Disperse
2x Mana Leak
1x Twincast

Not much to say here. Generic tried and true build for 1v1 CW. Stall until you hit infinite or replicate a mass.

This was given to me in a thread I started a few days ago. This is a better place for it as Mjack said. I hope you guys add more. I still play a lot of 2013 and currently trying to get more people into it with 2013 since it was one of those free games for live a while back and some of my friends got it already. Thanks a bunch for any deck build advice any of you can give.

Went back and played some 2013 the other day and I have to say, it is so much more interesting than 2014. Sky and Scale is one of my favorite decks. Pretty sad no Simic in 2014. And, I don't normally like aggro decks, but there are so many different interactions and synergies you can come up with in Grinning Malice that it is actually interesting and fun to play as aggro. Definitely be playing more of this in the near future.

So I am working on something, and I want to survey you guys. What do you think are the best cards in Dream Puppets, Sepulchral Strength, Grim Procession, Rogue's Gallery, and Grinning Malice? And why?

Malice has to be the demigod. Thing was the most feared creature in the matchup and rightfully so.

Procession...I liked the persist ghosts, the 3cmc hybrids. They wrecked face and were very resistant to removal.

Dream puppets had too much in a mill build to choose just one.

SS it has to be the artist. Because he wins.

RG...I never player the deck. No like. Had a sweet removal card in barons spite. Or whatever it was though.

In Dream puppets Jace's phantasm, basically your only real defense against aggro,
in Sepulchral I loved Yavimaya elder ( In a fatty build - get every single land out of my deck and attack for a million with Drana ),
in Grim Procession Pillory of the sleepless, drawing multiples is an auto-win against most decks ( as boring and sad as a win can be ),
Rogue's gallery I have to say Ashling, the extinguisher ( making her unblockable / flying ) ,
Grinning Malice Demigod of revenge for sure.

This thread inspired me to bust out 2013 for some games, and man, I love it. The iPad performance is much better and the interface is much more intuitive than 2014, but the real money is the decks are just tons more fun.

I enjoy CL more than this year's GoL, we have the alternate win condition of Felidar Sovereign and a pure "whoooooaaaa life" deck is fun.
BoF is way more fun than FW, hands down. Can basically go creatureless burn!
DP, as the only mill deck, is unique and I enjoy it more than aggro illusions MMz, or weak-control MMz.
PI is actually a fun and dangerous green stompy deck and has enough ramp to make the big stuff playable. HS is a disaster in comparison.
I've gotta say though, DW is a deck I like to play, and so is OD. We'll call that a tie.

The "Planeswalker 5" aside, the colour distribution was much more even, we covered the Ravnica guilds (at least in colours, if we missed pretty much all of their mechanics), only three of which were real duds. The last deck pack had a sweet "boss" deck to finish off the game nicely.

I miss the attack all button a lot, and manual land adjustment, and perhaps this is the rosy filter of nostalgia, but I find the 2013 decks so much more varied, interesting, and challenging to build.

Rant over! :)

I think 2013 decks were kinda uninspired . The designers had some pretty severe restrictions as they were told to make a deck to showcase each of the 2013 legendary creatures and each of the Ravnica guilds , and for some of those they ( understandably ) didn't have a strong concept to build the deck around aside from " a bunch of good cards in the respective colors " .

This includes some decks like orzhov, simic, Odric that I found very fun to play despite feeling generic , and others like boros that were just frustrating due to being a random pile of cards .

It's been a while, so I wanted to get input before I took this out for a few games.

I want to take out rain of embers, furnace of rath, and 3 chandra's phoenix for 2 hostility and 3 chandra's outrage. But I want to get a rain check on that beforehand.
