The stars are capitals. There are other cities but none are as universally known as the capitals. Feel free to do a History check to figure out where the nearest city is. Or ask the townsfolk.

Nudging the other players in the game. Missed the new posts.

Also, to contextualize the map more. From the western border of Jin at the mountains to the eastern coast, it would take two months of steady travel by foot. And I remind you all that the statue needs to get to the Northern Capital before spring, which is in a little more than three months.

Remember, with Perception, you can always just rely on Passive Perception.

A long rest is 8 hours, but you can't spend more than 2 hours of it standing watch, so what do you all want to do with the two hours that nobody can be standing watch? Or do you all want to not take a whole long rest and just a short rest?

It seems we will be doing a little retconning to insert your new fourth.

"When we look at him quizzically, he states, 'Lucky I found you. Liu was needed back at base camp. He won't be continuing with you. I'll be taking his place. So what are we doing?'

"The party quickly brings him up to speed on the job."

...or something like that?

What if we sleep 12 hours instead of the regular 8? That means everyone get to sleep 8 hours and be on the shift twice.

You can just rest for nine hours and have three-hour watch shifts and we'll call that a long rest.

Remember you all can spend hit dice to recover HP after any rest, and after a long rest, you regain half of your maximum number of hit dice.

We'll be fully healed after the long rest anyway so it hardly matters right? When we get up we will be level 2, have all out hit points and all our hit dice.

Your maximum hit points increase and the number of hit dice you have increase, but do the rules say you heal up when you level?

They state you regain full hit points after a long rest. So I suppose it's a case of do we long rest then level up (in which case it could be argued that we will not be fully healed but will also have nothing we can do about that) or do we level up then complete long rest regaining full hit points.
