I gotta start playing those fat stacks myself. :/

I believe the phrase is 'pictures or it didn't happen'. So in this case, a youtube video or it didn't happen (cause if I can't revel in your misfortune, my day just wouldn't be complete!)

If it had happened on camera I think I would've just broken the camera. Infuriating.

You should always be recording so you can catch impromptu blow ups.

Here's my favourite life-tilt moment from Scumpi, professional CoD player.

Fun starts at 8 :00 when there’s a slow but steady build-up of frustration and then he LOSES it at 9:00 when his connection goes to hell and he can’t kill a guy at point-blank range, lol.

Just posting my Azban Goodstuffs deck I've been playing around with for the last week. I have actually grown to like it better than Hakeem's Azban, which is saying alot. This is based on that deck, but doesn't play with Angels.

Enjoy!

Why 4 Ragers and only 2 Visionaries? I would think you'd want it the other way around.

Mainly because when I put together the deck I thought I had 4 of each in. I played it for about a week, then decided to post it. That's when I was like, "hey, what's up with this?".

After about 40 games, only 1 of them I can remember would have made a difference being able to cast the Visionary instead of the Rager.

What I would actually like to do is put in the Graveborn Muses, but I don't think there is enough lifegain to offset the lifeloss.

It's still a two-drop instead of a three in a deck with a bunch of gates. It's much easier to start two-drop into two-drop than two-drop into three-drop when you're playing twelve taplands. Plus you don't lose the life. The 2/2 body is rarely much more relevant than the 1/1 in a deck like this. Honestly I'd cut all the Ragers, add the Visionaries, and play the Muses as you mentioned. You have the Wurms plus Baneslayer and Griselbrand and she will dig you to them.

So I took a long hiatus from 2015. I built some decks early on but did not play much online. I feel like this color combination has some real possibilities.

I read through all of the posts - and Hakeem has provided a blow by blow for his deckbuilding. I read the Hakeem decklist for a number of pages. I think Shadowborn Demon is a stellar card due to the recurrable EtB, his ability to sac creatures you want to recur via Seance or Sheoldred, and you can also reach 6 creatures in your graveyard pretty quickly if you want him to stick to the board.

Seance is just a bonkers card in this meta IMO. In 2015 tribal synergies are weak because the tribes do not have enough cards. I think of Seance as a "lord" effect for creatures with Enter the Battlefield abilities. It is a very strong card that does not necessarily require you to build around it.

Satyr Wayfinder is the next card I would include - it is good by itself, and the extra graveyard pitching helps Seance a lot.

Other than those four cards, nothing is set in stone. I think the next thing I need to decide is whether to include Necromancer's Assistant. The Satyr is enough to make Seance viable, I think the extra graveyard pitching from the assistant could cater to more of a toolbox approach which would favor situational creatures such as Reclamation Sage. More assistants also makes Treasured Find and possibly Rescue from the Underworld more valuable. I am actually kind of confused how few rescues I have seen, considering how many decks have been toting Griseldude and other very expensive cards. Rescue has the disadvantage that you need to sac a creature, but that creature returns to play and gives you a second EtB effect, which is pretty cool.

The lifegain EtB suite (Missionary, gatekeepers, Pellaka Wurm) is pretty sweet in combination with angelic accord, I feel this combo is or should be about the strongest you can get in terms of anti-aggro. But is that lifegain unhelpful vs more controlling builds?

I think the most helpful fatties in conjunction with Seance have got to be Rune-Scarred Demon and Craterhoof Behemoth. I have seen a lot of Baneslayer Angel and Griselbrand, and I have to say, they are both powerful cards, but in general I favor cards with very good EtB effects. Seance just makes EtB that much more valuable.

So after a bit more thinking, here is what I came up with:

[manapie 90 w -u b -r g][/manapie]

Untitled deck (1)

A one vs. one deck for Magic 2015.

60 Cards (26 :creature: , 10 :instant: , 24 :land:)

Cost 13 cards
■■■
Elvish Visionary1/1
■■■■
Lone Missionary2/1
■■■■
Satyr Wayfinder1/1
■■
Treasured Find
Cost 2 cards
■■■■
Necromancer's Assistant3/1
Cost 9 cards
■■■■
Saruli Gatekeepers2/4
■■■
Angelic Accord
■■
Séance
Cost 4 cards
Shadowborn Demon5/6
■■■
Rescue from the Underworld
Cost 6 cards
■■■
Pelakka Wurm7/7
■■
Rune-Scarred Demon6/6
Sheoldred, Whispering One6/6
Cost 2 cards
Craterhoof Behemoth5/5
Griselbrand7/7
Land24 cards
■■
Arcane Sanctum
■■■■
Azorius Guildgate
■■■■
Dimir Guildgate
■■■■
Golgari Guildgate
4
Forest
3
Plains
4
Swamp

I feel the core of the deck with the most tight-knit interactions are seance + the lifegain engine. I built the rest of the deck with this in mind. It has a high curve due to the effective lifegain. However, I wanted to add more reanimation. Three rescues plus two treasured finds means more resilience to removal, the possibility of cheating fatties into play early, and more consistent use of the graveyard as a resource.

The deck is quite lacking in control elements. This is deliberate - the purpose is to see more creatures overall than your opponent (including your graveyard), have access to a wide array of EtB effects, and be able to use them reliably.

I have yet to really test this deck but want to see how others feel about my semi-tool box approach.

I really don't like rescue (especially not here) and I personally feel the necromancer's assistant is a waste of two slots too. But if you remove them, you'll basically just have Hakeem's variant. (which is built exactly with what you're trying to do anyway and is already finely tuned for you.)

It's funny you mention Shadowborn, HenWen, I was unsideboarding my deck after the tournament games I played and decided to slot in Shadowborn over the singleton Angelic Edict. I did this more because of Sheoldred than Seance, though. I don't like that it misses Baneslayers and big Demons and it doesn't exile Kozilek or hit enchantments, but I think there's enough upside to mitigate that. We shall see.

I recognize that rescue is a pretty week reanimation card compared to what is available in other formats. However, from a deckbuilding perspective this deck has a powerful lifegain engine, a wide selection of powerful bombs, and a few cards that fill your graveyard quickly. Adding in a real reanimation mechanic in addition to the temporary seance tokens seems only natural. I simply haven't played 2015 enough to have a good feel for what the meta is like, so I am not going to present my ideas as fully tested. But I am curious as to why rescue has been excluded from every decklist I have seen.

I recognize that Baneslayer and Kozilek are pretty powerful cards, it is hard to decide how to factor this into my deckbuilding without a lot of play experience.

As far as the Specter, I think it is a pretty potent card in the right hands but I do not see where I would put it. I have a number of slots dedicated to lifegain + accord and graveyard filling + seance. I also think discard is much more potent when you have more than one discard effect to play. A specter followed up with blightning is devastating, just one specter not so much. To me discard is an effect that I do not want to "splash" in my deck because it is so random and opponents will usually drop their weakest card first.

I think it is expensive and that is a big reason many avoid it. It can be good but I just feel there are better options.

Stevo has made many a deck with em but I virtually always felt them underperforming and better off being other tools.

well i'm seeing some decks that aren't about accord combo'n and other decks run Maggot, Maggot into specter is solid, Maggot early game disrupts the curve, while specter mid game forced the discard and don't have to worry about specter dying to give them the card back.
I've had plenty of games won on the back of Specter into Specter into undying evil or cloud shift, just a 2/1 flyer can get good damage in. my issue in 3 color was the BB was sometimes tricky to acquire on T3. otherwise a good aggro curve topper, and midrange T3 play

Okay, got an Azban mid-range/Spider Spawn deck. Got a list that seems fun, but I'm looking for opinions. Will post a list when I get on a computer vs tablet.
