Here's what we know about the block structure from MaRo's most recent article:

Khans of Tarkir: 5 factions (clans), each with their own mechanic; morph
Dragons of Tarkir: 5 new factions (dragon broods?), each with their own new mechanic; morph with a twist
Fate Reforged: 5 faction mechanics, 3 from KTK and 2 from DTK; proto-morph (manifest)

So we already know that Dragons of Tarkir will have bolster, dash, three new faction mechanics, and a twist on morph. It will not have any of the KTK faction mechanics, and I get the feeling it also will not have manifest.

I thought they all but admitted that the DTK factions were dragon broods. And it seems certain that they are allied colored.

I wonder if it will have some kind of anti-morph where the face downs are always non-creatures you can flip up to cast.

Also worth noting: of the five legendary dragons, the only ones that use block keywords are ones that use bolster and dash. Seems pretty clear the three remaining mechanics are going to belong to the three remaining dragon broods.

Knowledge knows no bounds.

And so people say to me, "How do I know if a word is real?" You know, anyone who's read a children's book knows that love makes things real. If you love a word, use it! That makes it real. Being in the dictionary is an artificial distinction; it doesn't make the word any more real than any other word. If you love a word, it becomes real.

And f yasova had ferocious the clans would have had the other three keywords.

A theorized loose cycle on salvation was:
Mardu woe-reaper(2/1 warrior for W)
Frost walker(temur,4/1 elemental with the illusion drawback)
??? Abzan Black card
Humble Defector(the piker that draws two and changes controller)
???sultai green card

As the only cards/uncommons of that clan in that color, so it might be to show that the clan only fully included that color in khans of tarkir.

Apparently Sultai Emissary works well with a mechanic in DTK. Speculate away!

Something that sacrifices creatures for gain, perhaps?

According to Ken Nagle, this is also a card that interacts with a mechanic in Dragons of Tarkir:

could it be the same?

Possible crazy DTK morph replacement:

"Demorph" - If this creature is (face up) on the battlefield, you may pay to exile it and return it to the battlefield face down.
(but you cannot flip it up again like a manifest or morph). This might be too good though.

My money is on noncreature morphs.

I guess that would make sense. In FKK a manifest is either but a morph is always a dude. In DDF a morph is always a non creature (when flipped). That kinda if has to be it. There is also a parallel with dash -- creatures that have a "spell like" mode.

I guess its good there's no prowess that would be confusing.

Really wizards "Megamorph"? That's what you got? I must be getting jaded, this is the first new mechanic I have just rolled my eyes at.

They aparently just punted on this one after failing a lot.

Here's the rub: The Dragons design team could never quite figure this one out. We tried a mechanic called "Auramorph." We tried a mechanic called "smorph." No, really. Why are you laughing? We spent a lot of time on a kind of morph/kicker hybrid. Each morph card had two morph costs, and maybe you'd get a bonus triggered ability if you paid the more expensive cost to flip it over. It was functional, but it was also a million billion words and was just so much more complex than an already complex set needed to be.

We eventually solved the problem, of course. Shortly after the set was handed off to development, Mark Rosewater and Erik Lauer each independently came up with exactly the same morph variant. That's what got printed. I'm not showing it off today—neither of my preview cards have it—but you'll see it soon. It's somehow both subtle and loud, and it's cool.

I did read that and as "big nothing with dumb name" megamorph is, it seems better than the other 2.
Basically they should have just kept it morph or manifest. A better name for megamorph is "morphster" (portmanteau of morph and bolster)

Agreed, especially because it makes vanilla morphs more interesting. +1/+1 counters are a big thing in limited.

Megamorph is an incredibly stupid name though.

I think megamorph as a mechanic is fine, it just seems redundant with regular morph. I think it needlessly complicates the game for sort of a niche effect. Given that it's difficult (and I agree it is) to have a "morph 2" that "derives" from manifest, I (as head designer) would have just punted and done morph again. Just because it's a different timeline doesn't mean EVERYTHING changes. (or kept it as manifest-- "it took the human shamans in control to develop morph magic out of the primal nature of manifest"

To be fair, Megamorph won't be with Morph in Limited, and both are so marginal in Constructed, so...
