I want to Seance him. Actually, I want to have it in my grave with seance on the table and see how my opponent reacts. Just feels like a "win more" if I tried too put it into my naya seance deck D:

I would drop paragon for phantom general and swap trumpet blast for ogre battledriver. I think vengevine is poor here too. Essentially you want to play RW tokens splash ground assault, mycoloth and beastmaster's ascension.

I don't understand Paragon at all in that list. Doubling Season is a thing too in these decks.

Monk's suggestions are sound.

I wonder of a low curve version would be good? This is completely untested.

I commented on the same build idea but was lead to believe I was drinking the dish water directly out of the sink. :ookay:

I also thought Elder of Laurels could be a winner here too.

OMG, first time I used this Deckbuilding thing... In actual fact the Deck includes the Phantom General... :-)

Thanks for the other ideas!

I certainly didn't mean to imply that Naya was bad, that wasn't my intent. It is obviously still insane. I just think that Pyromancer's addition means that Beastmaster Ascension is no longer necessary (which is the main lure to splash green). I like my decks to have good mana, so if I can play less colors without sacrificing much overall power then I'm going to do that.

I certainly would not choose to play naya tokens over RW tokens with the current card pool. But if I had to I think I would build it like the above list.

Total dishwater!

;)

I mentioned that in the other thread and figured that's the line you were taking. As I mentioned there, I think it was just the wording that caught me off guard.

I'm also a mana fan and prefer being able to make consistent and timely curved plays (and I attempt to follow that when building). I also agree that things like pyromancer make the green splash weaker in that you can win without it so why dilute. The one thing that green offers here is a win (usually) on the turn it's played. It's hard to discount cards that can do it. It makes me thing of red burn in standard which splashes white for Boros Charm. Tougher comparison though since they have much better mana fixing (but the premise is the same).

Ultimately if the deck isn't hampered in its plays; where it can carry additional win conditions, then it probably should. The down side here is that our mana makes it difficult to carry more than 2 colors with any consistency (which is why the addition of Young Pyromancer makes Naya worse -just not obsolete ;)).

You have 7 very strong removal spells.

I have added all of the good token makers. I wanted to be aggro and think we have better options than selesnya evangel. I am not a big fan of attended knight either. If I had more space it would make it but I think the other options are better.

To complement the tokens we have a lot of options

Beastmaster's ascension leads to a lot of free wins and obviously works well with the tokens.

Ogre battledriver is amazing here, especially with triplicate spirits and mycoloth.

Phantom general is our anthem of choice because we are 3 colours

Mentor of the meek helps us play the longer game if needed.

And finally doubling season, this was not in my old token decks but with the addition of mycoloth I think it is worth it. It also works very well with rabblemaster and brimaz.

Then we have the heavy hitters in baneslayer Angel and mycoloth.

Any suggestions?

Thoughts on subbing out the Mentor for Banishing Priest?

If I were convinced to play Naya tokens these days, I would take Monk's original list (quoted here) and drop both copies of Doubling Season plus a Mountain to squeeze in the trio of Pyromancers. I like the bigger top-end better than the Bushwhacker/Gods Willing plan because the deck plays 23 land and should easily get there. You really can't cut land for spells because of the deck's mana requirements.

I wonder if ground assault and beastmaster's ascension are enough of a reason to add green. The deck is slower but can also answer an opposing baneslayer or other huge threat. Plus the big finish with ascension. I may test this later.

I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon and post my take on Naya Tokens. Wanted to try and build a real "Spike"-deck, that just wins consistently, all the time. Boros tokens was arguably the strongest decks for this before the new cardpack, but I feel that with the addition of Craterhoof, the temptation to go into Naya was too great to resist. It's like the 3rd Beastmaster, but with the added surprise factor. It doesn't rely on him getting out, but increases the chance of the "big finish" anyway. It increases the curve, though, so I decided to skip the triplicates.

There's stuff like the singleton Banisher Priest that's kind of weird. I had one spot left, and didn't know what to put there. So figured just a tinsy, tiny sprinkle of removal could be nice. I see all of you have included the full pack of Triplicate Spirits, so I guess it's pretty mandatory for this kind of deck. Buuut, I really don't like that card for some reason. The pyromancers could be nice I guess, maybe in place of the drawing elves? I really like the draw though. Elves basically make decks 56 cards, which is nice.

You've experienced battledriver with triplicate spirits before yes? I don't know how you can play one without the other in your deck. With ground assault and shocks, you don't need that priest

The ogre also goes superb with the pyromancer. (or whatever its name is that spawns 1/1 tokens when you cast spells)

Ogre Battledriver with Mentor of the Meek seems a bit like a nonbo. How about Garruk's Packleader?

The small creatures still trigger Mentor because they enter the battlefield with less than two power.

Oh, mi mistake then. I thought that they enter as 3 power creatures instead of 1.

Ignore my last post then :)
