The addition of Pyromancer to the pool makes this deck a contender for best deck in the game, IMO. I would definitely drop Hellspark altogether for more spells, and I would even think about cutting Brimaz because of the
. Triplicate Spirits may be 6CMC, but I would try to jam it in here. Trumpet Blast could be okay, though.
To be honest with you, I think this and your Izzet Burn deck were viable contenders for best decks in the game even BEFORE
Young Pyromancer was included, and Pyromancer just makes these lists even better.
Cutting Hellspark may be the right decision. I still can't 100% commit to doing so until I can do some actual testing to see if it is worth it though. Making room for
Young Pyromancer is a no-brainer. I just don't know if Hellspark is the correct card to cut to make that room. I still feel like the deck runs enough Instant/Sorcery spells that dropping a few of them isn't going to be enough to lower the consistency of activating our spell based threats (Kiln Fiend, Pyromancer, Guttersnipe). The last update I posted is able to run 2x Hellspark and still have 24 total spells, which should be plenty for triggering our threats. That is with 21 land as well. I could easily see this deck running fine off of just 20, which would make room for that 3rd Hellspark.
I can see how you feel about Brimaz, although I am not sure if it is worth cutting him. The
can be very annoying, but the card absolutely bricks other Aggro decks, which is a big part of the reason I was running the card to begin with.
They need to hurry up and release the new cards on 360. I think me and Hakeem are starting to go stir crazy here. We are getting close to being at least a week behind everyone else in our testing. I have a feeling our wives are going to want to shank us when it comes out, because I know we will both be glued to the game for at least the first day or two trying to catch up on the testing we missed.
