Lmao!

Funny off topic quip.

So I wear boxers, yet my wife has this particular quirk in which she refers to all different sorts of underwear as "panties" no matter what type they are.

There isn't much that makes you feel less like a man than when your wife continually refers to what you are wearing as "panties"

:/

Anyone else suspect that Eon refers to all different sorts of underwear as "boxers" and probably does actually wear panties.

I do not wear panties. I never worn panties, but if called upon, panties I will wear.

Big white house panties, or small delicate European briefs.

:cookie: for those who get the reference!

I replaced Hellspark Elemental with Young Pyromancer in the Boros and Izzet burn decks. The rest of the spells synergise better imo and I don't miss him at all.

Still waiting to start testing....ugh, 360 people problems.

Swapping out Hellspark seems like a completely valid plan. Hellspark certainly doesn't work as well with the rest of the deck being a creature and all, and he is generally not the best of targets for our combat tricks because he is going to die at EoT anyways.

That said, I know a big part of the reason they worked so well was they helped a lot in pushing damage through early when we didn't have any of our other more spell centered win-cons available. People don't like to block Hellspark Elemental, and the thing often represented 6 damage by itself. Going T2 Hellspark > T3 Kiln Fiend with Gods Willing up was GG against a lot of the slower decks in the format.

Young Pyromancer can certainly fill that role though.

To be honest with you, I feel like the deck runs enough Instant/Sorcery spells that cutting a couple to make room for Hellspark isn't a terrible deal for the explosive starts it can potentially give you.

All of this is completely baseless though, since I still haven't had the chance to actually play with my proposed changes yet. It may be worthwhile to just go all in on the Instant/Sorcery plan and cut Hellspark completely.

Likely the first update I will be making once us 360 people finally get the new cards.

[manapie 90 w -u -b r -g][/manapie]

Boros Fiend

A one vs. one deck for Magic 2015.

60 Cards (15 :creature: , 24 :instant: , 21 :land:)

Creature15 cards
■■
Hellspark Elemental3/1
■■■■
Kiln Fiend1/2
■■■
Young Pyromancer2/1
Brimaz, King of Oreskos3/4
■■
Goblin Rabblemaster2/2
■■■
Guttersnipe2/2
Spell24 cards
■■■
Coordinated Assault
■■■■
Gods Willing
■■■■
Shock
■■■
Swift Justice
■■■■
Krenko's Command
■■■■
Raise the Alarm
■■
Banefire
Land21 cards
■■■■
Boros Guildgate
9
Mountain
8
Plains

I run a slightly different build (I dropped the Hellspark Elemental) but what do you guys think of adding Trumpet Blast? With Raise the Alarm, Krenko's Command, Goblin Rabblemaster and Young Pyromancer I can flood the board pretty well and all I need is some buff to overpower the enemy.

The addition of Pyromancer to the pool makes this deck a contender for best deck in the game, IMO. I would definitely drop Hellspark altogether for more spells, and I would even think about cutting Brimaz because of the :w::w:. Triplicate Spirits may be 6CMC, but I would try to jam it in here. Trumpet Blast could be okay, though.

To be honest with you, I think this and your Izzet Burn deck were viable contenders for best decks in the game even BEFORE Young Pyromancer was included, and Pyromancer just makes these lists even better.

Cutting Hellspark may be the right decision. I still can't 100% commit to doing so until I can do some actual testing to see if it is worth it though. Making room for Young Pyromancer is a no-brainer. I just don't know if Hellspark is the correct card to cut to make that room. I still feel like the deck runs enough Instant/Sorcery spells that dropping a few of them isn't going to be enough to lower the consistency of activating our spell based threats (Kiln Fiend, Pyromancer, Guttersnipe). The last update I posted is able to run 2x Hellspark and still have 24 total spells, which should be plenty for triggering our threats. That is with 21 land as well. I could easily see this deck running fine off of just 20, which would make room for that 3rd Hellspark.

I can see how you feel about Brimaz, although I am not sure if it is worth cutting him. The :w::w: can be very annoying, but the card absolutely bricks other Aggro decks, which is a big part of the reason I was running the card to begin with.

They need to hurry up and release the new cards on 360. I think me and Hakeem are starting to go stir crazy here. We are getting close to being at least a week behind everyone else in our testing. I have a feeling our wives are going to want to shank us when it comes out, because I know we will both be glued to the game for at least the first day or two trying to catch up on the testing we missed.

I think Pyromancer makes Boros better than Izzet because the token plan is very strong and Gods Willing fulfills a similar role to Artful Dodge while also protecting your main threats from removal.

I need these cards yesterday, it's frustrating to be on the only platform without them.

I think Ogre battledriver makes the list over hellspark. Battledriver seems insane with pyromancer and you are already playing tokens to support it. It would also make the inclusion of a triplicate spirits much better. Something like this.
[manapie 90 w -u -b r -g][/manapie]

Untitled deck

A deck for Magic 2015.

60 Cards (14 :creature: , 25 :instant: , 21 :land:)

Creature14 cards
■■■■
Kiln Fiend1/2
■■■
Young Pyromancer2/1
■■
Goblin Rabblemaster2/2
■■■
Guttersnipe2/2
■■
Ogre Battledriver3/3
Spell25 cards
■■■
Coordinated Assault
■■■■
Gods Willing
■■■■
Shock
■■■■
Krenko's Command
■■■■
Raise the Alarm
■■■■
Trumpet Blast
■■■■
Triplicate Spirits
Land21 cards
■■■■
Boros Guildgate
9
Mountain
8
Plains

Like others on 360 I can't test this but I never liked swift justice and banefire seems average in this sort of deck.

I'd max on Triplicate Spirits if you're playing Battledrivers. Two Trumpet Blasts is probably enough. Thoughts on Bushwhackers instead of Blasts?

Edited the above with your suggestion. Trumpet blast seems better than bushwhacker as it is a spell.

Battledriver seems solid, especially if you are going to go with Triplicate Spirits.

That said, I am honestly not sold on Triplicate Spirits.

Certainly a good card, and to be honest, I can see casting it easily enough in this deck.

The only issue I see is it causing some funky interactions with Kiln Fiend, which is the kind of thing I am kind of weird about. Having to tap a Kiln Fiend to be able to play Triplicate Spirits would make me want to kill myself. The deck probably has more than enough token makers to support it. The above scenario just makes me feel icky though.

I DO fully agree that Swift Justice is probably one of the first things to get cut. They are overall pretty good with Kiln Fiend/Rabblemaster/Brimaz but outside that are pretty meh.

I also certainly see the point on Banefire as well. The deck really doesn't run the mana to make it especially effective as removal or a win con. I mostly ran them because they help in those flood situations and usually can still function as an inefficient Shock. X=0 is also a thing for another cheap way to activate our spell trigger stuff. Definitely stuff for me to consider!

I think I am going to stick with the lower curve version for now. At least see how it plays out once we finally get the new cards. Keep us updated on how the Battledriver version works out for you!

I will have to get your GT sometime Monk so we can test/play together. I know you aren't able to be around much because of your schedule, but my schedule is pretty flexible, so I can often play whenever you have the itch and the time haha.

the only thing I don't like in the above deck is the nonbo between Goblin Rabblemaster and Guttersnipe

other than that it seems to be top tier material

unfortunately 360 player and all that

Yeah, this has come up on me using the original version of the deck (my lower curve version posted somewhere above).

It is super annoying when it happens. That said, I feel like each of those cards are strong enough to warrant the (relatively rare) scenario where you have Snipe and Rabblemaster out at the same time. All the Instant/Sorcery effects help to make Rabblemaster a real monster, able to attack into a lot of situations he normally cant and push damage though. Most of those Instant/Sorcery cards happen to work well for protecting Snipe in those situations as well. Having to attack in with Snipe isn't terrible when you have cards like Gods Willing, Coordinated Assault, Swift Justice, and Shock to make sure he stays alive in those situations where you have no choice but to attack with it.

Still absolutely no news on when us 360 people are going to get the new cards. Starting to get annoyed with waiting.
