I liked RAV/TSP, but not KAMI/RAV. Was not fun.

The blocks surrounding kami were a great time for standard, imo.

I don't play Standard much these days, but I've found less and less cards that interest me as a deck-builder. My specific breed of Johnny has been forgotten.

I'll break Search the City before it leaves Standard, I swear it.

It's okay Rush, just admit it. It's unbreakable.

Shadowborn Apostle. Oh how I tried. I love Search the City so much though, even though I've literally never played it in a real game. I wish you luck on your quest, sir.

And broken cards, don't forget that banned list!

Cards only get banned because of complainers.

Really? MaRo made note that it is usually based on what is being overused and what makes Standard unfun because it absolutely dominates.

Mirrodin block was basically Tooth and Nail vs Affinity though. Not a healthy format. :/

Ya, I had tons of fun with Mirrodin in, like, every format. Lots of fun stuff. Shame Affinity made tournaments boring as hell.

I'm not saying that I don't understand the need for banning cards sometimes. I'd just prefer they not do it. I can't think of a format that didn't have answers for the top deck buried in the cards somewhere.

3CM. So there.

(but, yeah, you're right)

In some ways I like 3CM, but it's more in concept than actually playing. I mean, it's just an incredibly fast game with not a lot going on with it. I wonder what people would make it if was opened up to 7 cards and called Perfect Hand Magic?

I imagine that'd make it way too complex to work out the winner. i've played 5 card magic before, and even that got very indepth at times

See, I thought Magic was getting closer to Yu-Gi-Oh when they started making you need specific cards to work together. You know, like:

Angel's Herald ==> Empyrial Archangel

Arachnus Spinner ==> Arachnus Web

Behemoth's Herald ==> Godsire

Bogbrew Witch + Festering Newt + Bubbling Cauldron

Dark Supplicant ==> Scion of Darkness

Demon's Herald ==> Prince of Thralls

Dragon's Herald ==> Hellkite Overlord

Kyscu Drake + Spitting Drake ==> Viashivan Dragon

Nissa Revane ==> Nissa's Chosen

Sift Through Sands + Peer Through Depths + Reach Through Mists ==> The Unspeakable

Sphinx's Herald ==> Sphinx Sovereign

Urborg Panther + Feral Shadow + Breathstealer ==> Spirit of the Night

I dunno, I just really don't like cards absolutely requiring specific other cards to be of use. I know each of them could be used on their own, it just kinda irks me to see them print this kinda stuff. That was one of the biggest things that bothered me about Yu-Gi-Oh...

I find this funny because two of the arch's were released before Yugioh was out even in JAPAN.

Magic from the very beginning had cards that worked with cards of the same name, look at Plague Rats and Kolbold of Kher Keep too name just a few.
