While I consider the design of Starstill to have been a lot of fun and a smashing success, playtesting kind of fell flat. There was no easy way for me to check who was available to play a game, we didn't have a chatroom to discuss design issues in a dynamic manner, and ultimately I only ever got to play Starstill twice: once in Sealed with Knifethrower, and once in Constructed with KFM. So while the bulk of the project was well-executed, the follow-through fell flat. Add to this the fact that I had to take a hiatus from the boards to deal with mental health issues for a hot second (I'm much better now), and never really had a plan for how to execute this set's development to begin with, and you end up with a set that was really fun to design, but in the end never really got to be played with enough, let alone polished to as close as perfection as possible.

But now, I'm back. Running Starstill was the biggest creative endeavor of my life, and I don't know if I'd ever forgive myself for working as hard as I did on it for five months, only to see it fall through the cracks and never reach the point at which I can satisfyingly look at the finished product and think that it's good as it's ever gonna get.

So, I make this thread now to A) see how much interest people still have in working on this project now that the hype's pretty much died down, B) give people a place to collectively discuss in detail how we should go about developing the set in an organized and methodical manner, while still keeping to the project's original doctrine of heeding the will of the community at large, and C) once we've reached consensus on how to go forward, divvy up various responsibilities, because I don't want the weight of keeping this project alive to rest entirely on my shoulders anymore.

Thusly I ask the community: Please let me know your thoughts.

I'm still interested in starstill. As for having a place to chat, there are lots of free chatrooms, finding one that can be embedded might be a good idea.

http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=%23starstill

Here's an IRC chat in the meantime.

I don't have time to be as active as I was before, but I can pop in and contribute designs once in a while. I would love to see Starstill as a finished product. It would be the first true NGA community set and a great addition to the NGA Constructed hall of fame.

I'm super busy and Ruwin is even busier than I am but I definitely want to get involved again in the flavor and storyline side of Starstill, and I'd love to see how the set plays...

Alright, no more tomfoolery. Let's get cracking.

Here's what I have to do:

• Update the set map to have links to all the original posts in which the cards were designed

• Get [email protected] to work

• Email all the artists I can and link them here and ask of we can use their work

• Update the visual spoiler on the site with card arts

• Get the set file as-is incorporated into the custom card file

Then we should be good to go.

I can try to play, but my card making time outside of work is very limited and I can't play at work without getting in trouble...I don't think...hmm...virtual machine...no trace...I might be able to swing something...

I would love to sometime. Unfortunately my PC, which had all my Cockatrice stuff on it, is having issues. I've downloaded the Starstill file onto my laptop now though, so it won't be a problem in the future- the future where I have built a Starstill deck.

Parad- Is it okay if I can start threads to redesign things? Figured it would be a load off of your shoulders.
