Nope, I've just never done it. There are certain things I'm very good at, but sadly technological stuff is not one of them. If you have any suggestions for where to upload one and how to link it, that's be awesome. If not, I'm a patient man. :D

@Miss_Bun: Thanks! Sounds fun.

I recommend http://mediafire.com and http://dropbox.com

both are free

Just to sort of tack onto what Bun said...

Even when the space is made available, we're not going to let you upload your Barbra Streisand and Barry Manilow collection. A recording of your game session? Sure. A parody song you wrote and performed? Awesome! That's the sort of stuff that we'll make room for.

For the record, it's a folk song from the M:EM plane Jakkard that I wrote and recorded. My Barbra Streisand or Barry Manilow collection would take up just slightly less space than a blank thread would...

Your daily update on forum features:
- Found the issue with having lots of spoilers in a post. It turns out the mod we set up to enable nested spoilers is not very smart and also limits the total number of spoilers in a post. Unfortunately, decoupling "maximum nesting depth" and "maximum number of spoilers" is nontrivial. Getting this working properly is on my to-do list; in the meantime, I bumped the max number allowed, so hopefully you should have spoilers to spare. If you hit the limit, let us know and we'll look at bumping it again.
- Set up some things the moderator team had asked for.

I had hoped to get dice-rolling tags working, but the above turned out to involve a great deal of fighting with outdated mods and phpbb permissions, leaving me perilously low on vim. So I added some smilies instead. :)

----
On multi-quote: if you open up the full editor, there's a "topic review" pane below the editor. If you want to quote a post, find it in there and click the "quote" button. That'll insert a quote tag with the contents of that post.

One of these days I'll get around to putting together a Posting Tips & Tricks thingy that has that sort of thing in it. But not yet, there are more important things to do right now.

On smilies: I'd appreciate it if, when requesting smilies be added, you include a link to the one you want. Otherwise, who knows what you'll end up with? Thanks! (Yes, this is why Aaaargh got his smilies and you didn't get yours. Let that be a lesson to you, or something.)

:madness:

Sweet, spoiler blocks look like they have a nice, large quantity limit. Thanks~!

Agreed, I needed more than four for my character sheets to be typed out...

We need legitimate subforums, especially in the Cards & Decks forum.

Speaking of subforums: The one we have, we *have* to click through the M:EM forum to get to it, can it have a small link under the M:EM on the home page so people can go directly to it? I mean, it's kinda unused right now, but there will eventually be more subforums, and it might be nice not to have to load excess pages to get to the section you want to get to.

Yeah, there is still definitely some tweaking to do with the forum arrangement.

Ah! I hadn't noticed this! Thanks!

I'll look, but I don't think there's a way to do it automagically. What I can do, at the minimum, is put a link to the sub-forum in the description you see on the main page. So I'll get this task on my to-do list, and as a worst case scenario I'll have to tweak the description a bit to include the link. I'll let you know at some point today.

Just as an FYI: we've changed the forum settings so that the maximum height of an image in a signature is now 120 pixels (the same height as the avatar restriction).

A map that charts locations people have posted/logged in from.

Could be neat to look at, and could have a coinciding thread to go "hey who is from _____? lets get lunch/play cards".

I don't think I'd be comfortable with that being an automatic feature. Maybe you could do a thread where people could volunteer that info... wait, isn't some of that against the CoC or something? I dunno.

I actually asked about this before, and volunteering the information seems to be okay.

Thread tagging. Is that a thing that could be a thing? It would actually be very useful to be able to tag threads in the M:EM archive with character names, planes, and (we were discussing this in another thread) Mature Content warnings. I suspect this would also be of use for the Role Playing boards, since you could tag threads with System, Edition, &c.

Is that viable, or would that be too weird to get working on this software?

We can certainly search around and see if there's anything already written, and if so how it works.
