My thought was an animal noise that might not be out of place but not the most likely.

We haven't been together for too long, so I reckon we haven't backstabbed anyone yet, but I would wager that everyone has an idea of how the others would react if the topic was broached.

Personally, my character would hear it out, but there would need to be good cause, tarnished reputations are nigh impossible to repair.

Sai seems to be okay with taking orders, though he hasn't shown any hesitancy to go off script if it gets the job done.

If you suggest to him abandoning the job altogether, however, he hasn't done anything in his time with you to suggest he'd be okay with that or not.

My question was geared more towards monetary motivations. It seems people are interested in our cargo, and interest means money.

About the statue:

1. Any wax on the upheld hands, like candle drippings?
2. Any wax on the jade tablet?
3. Are there any candle stubs this far down and do they look like they've been moved?
4. How is the statue positioned relative to the relief of the flowers?
5. From the sketch, the Emperor is holding his hands palms up above his head, correct?

Bloody OOC character knowledge. I know think I know the answer to the riddle already. Now to make my character aware of the riddles existence.

1. There are a few spots of wax on the left raised hand.

3. There are no candle stubs in this hall itself, but there were in the recesses in the wall along the stairs.
4. If you look at the map, where I put Liu and Sai is where the carving is. So, the statue is facing forward towards the stairs and the facing direction of the flowers is perpendicular to that.

I'm doing what I can to facilitate.

That said, I suspect I know the riddle as well, I'm just waiting for us to set off the trap that gets us mugged by vampires.
